Plummer seriously beat some dude up?
I thought he got benches cause he was changing Shannys plays in the huddle?
I winder if the guy looked like Cutler?!?!?!
Ugh- I meant *benched and *wonder
Oops. Lol.
sndvl you are a god send
I didnt know it played a part honestly
I guess I can see where you’re coming from. I think he did do his best – the problem was it just wasn’t good enough. If he hadn’t talked trash about the fans, I think I could be a little more sympathetic. No hard feelings towards him – he’s just not Denver’s future. I’m not saying Tebow is either (though I think it would be awesome if he turned out to be), but Orton’s only hope is to find another team now.
Well idk i just support everyone who has ever worn the blue and orange even the hated cutler and i hope tebow is the future also
Orton is a big boy. He knew what he was doing when he balked on the Miami deal. He knew the position it would put him in and he made the decision for whatever reasons he had. If he made the decision knowing the position he would be in, that one falls squarely on his head. That being said, he didn’t name himself starter before training camp, he didn’t keep himself in the game week after week. That decision falls on somebody else. He set himself up to fail and the coaching staff helped and then did absolutely nothing to help his situation by playing so poorly and disrespecting the people who were paying his salary. Not the kind of attitude you expect from a veteran professional. He has been around long enough to expect him to know better than to get into a conflict with the fans. The coach can only protect you for so long unless you play at Tom Brady/Payton Manning levels every game. He might think he can do that but that doesn’t and hasn’t appeared to be the case so he is history. I won’t bash him too much but I also have no sympathy since he was, in many cases, his own worst enemy. When you talk the talk, you best be able to walk the walk or it will get ugly very quickly!
How naive of me … to think that once TT started … this TT Orton thing would go the way of PP Dareus.
Its already happened. Its Tebow time. For better or for worse we will find out what the kid had. No point mentioning Orton anymore because he is done in Denver. They will neither go back to him nor will they sign him.
BFE, bro I think you had alot of beers tonight, either that or just really love TT. Just a bit unlike u in some of those post.
Relax and enjoy football folks. Its a new era and I for one am happy we will find out this season … what TT is made of … which I think is “alot”.
So please … no more TT v Orton … my heart and “ears” can’t take it anymore. (this is ofcouse assuming TT is named the starter cuz if he is not this rhetoric will just get louder lol)
Ps: henryac is right … he is a big boy and im sure his millions will keep him warm at night.
Later Days, TRB
Orton stayed not because he wanted to he asked for the trade .Hence some of the hostility from the fans he did not want to be here. His wife was having a baby and she did not want to change Dr’s. as well as not having ppl to help her (family and friends)while her husband was in mid season . I respect he stopped for his wife but you have to think how much $$$ their family lost on his next contract by not making that move ?As well as the grief he took especially after talking about the fans .You dont want to be on this team ,nor did he respect the fans TEBOW is the anti Orton, Mobile passionate a great leader and teammate fiercely loyal and loved for it .The debate is over the only side that matters now is the orange one. He may not be the greatest QB ever yet but when he hits the field no one will give more Hart and sole . if hard work really makes a great player no one works harder or gives more for his team TEBOW !!!!!!TEBOW !!!! say it with me TEBOW !!!!!!!!All of bronco nation now TEBOW!!!!
And yes plummer tore that guy up and it wasn’t his first drunken brawl .but it wasn’t widely publicized plumer was smart and payed the guy off .And it was a different time you could still make stuff go away quietly .AHHHH the good old days before everyone had a cam on their phone and TMZ.
always makes me curious hearing or reading bronco nation. do people not read bronocos country when creating a handle? and to think my ip adress was blocked.
Jake Plummer, who led Arizona State to the Rose Bowl before being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, was charged yesterday with four felony counts of sexual abuse stemming from an incident in a nightclub.
The charges were announced by Maricopa County (Ariz.) Attorney Rick Romley, who has said a settlement Plummer reached with three accusers didn’t free him from prosecution.
Plummer also was charged in the criminal complaint with one count of misdemeanor assault.
……I cant find the article about the DUI/assault but here is one on and older incident he had a serious bizarre wild side http://articles.sfgate.com/1997-05-29/sports/17748680_1_denver-nuggets-offer-special-stock-coach-nuggets
Police issued Plummer a summons last May after he was accused of kicking a headlight of Stone’s 1992 Ford Ranger, then backing his SUV into the other vehicle.
, I thought it was some kid,” Stone said of the incident that happened in April but wasn’t investigated until weeks later. “I never knew it was Jake Plummer. If I would’ve known, I would’ve dealt with it differently. I might have forgotten about it.”
just another example of his volitle nature
listening to meryl hodge talk about tebow remind me of some fans talk about him. it is a love or hate relationship. he said as a starter he is 1 and 2 which makes him a loser. really? 7 and 23 minus sd. not to mention cam newton, his boy, is what as a starting qb? I use this as a good example of those that hate tebow are going to hate no matter what. I am looking for individual improvements from him starting day 1 from being qb1, until then every thing else is personal not analytical.
WOW!!! Looks like I missed the battle last night. Wonder who won the war? Man, that was something to read!
I have not seen BFE that po’d in a long time.
Does sound like I missed a good blog fight, haven’t seen one of those in a while..would’ve paid good money to see that too.
The matter of fact is no one wants Tebow to succeed because they already bashed his head into the ground. So if he succeeds then that will make them look like a fool and lose credibility. You look at sports analysts by what and how they say things. That’s why I’m more of an ESPN type of guy sometimes they have an opinion but most of the time they report more on the situation instead of taking sides like the NFL Network analysts do.
Yea, I listened to Trent Dilfer completely bash TT last night. I just looked up Dilfer’s stats. He really looks like a guy qualified to bash anyone. The person he was arguing with about Tebow was none other than Steve Young. I thougfht to myself…”You have got to be kidding. Dilfer arguing with Young about Tebow?” What a loser! Dilfer doesn’t even need to be an analyst.
I heard Dilfer, too. Talk about a guy who never lived up to the acclaim! #6 overall pick who lucked onto a team for one year, the year they just happened to win a SB based on defense and a running game, and suddenly he is a football genius. Career QB rating of 70 or something. I think Steve Young took it a little personal because many people were convinced he would never be a good QB either so he knows what TT is putting up with. They thought Walsh wasted a draft choice in trading for Young. When you hear some of these guys, you just have to wonder if maybe they aren’t a little bitter that their careers were never what they thought they would be. They make a decision on good or bad and make it a personal thing rather than looking at it from a performance point of view. Just makes them look like complete fools when they get it wrong.
Good Morning Everyone………
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all my american bronco fans.
Just back from the long weekend with the family and watched the PVRed game late last night. Exciting stuff……..except not getting the W.
We all got our prayers answered…………TT got into the game. While his arm was not spectacular………his feet were. And you just knew they had a chance to win………..which is something that Orton could never give us.
I’m excited to see what he can do with his arm when he has more practice time with the number 1s. It isn’t the easiest thing to come in and take over a game like that when you’ve only played a couple of snaps all season.
I, for one, am willing to give him a chance to develop. At least there seems to be an upside, even if he does make mistakes along the way. At least by the end of the season we will know if he’s our franchise QB. And that’s all I really wanted from day 1.
The D, for the most part, played great. But they still give up those few big plays a game that ultimately cost us. And the tackling is still horrible at times as well.
But I blame this game on Orton as well……….not only could he not get the O moving at all in the first half……….his horrible 3 and out to end the quarter gave the ball back to SD, which led to a horrible score. We should’ve maintained possesion until halftime…….BRUTAL!!
It was a real bummer that we didn’t get the 2 point conversion to tie the game……..it prob would’ve went into OT based on the awesome feild position TT managed to get us to in such a small amount of time…it was very Elwayesk! Loved it…..and the grab was almost made in the endzone for the win.
What I do know is that Orton prob would’ve taken a sack back on the 20 to end the game right there………..
I don’t feel that Orton would’ve even given us a chance to win it. While he may have made some completions and gained some yards, he doesn’t have that leadership quality to get his team to ralley. Just seemed like the enire team really stepped up in the 4th qtr and all I can really attribute that to is Tebow and what he brings to the team. Sure he’s not mechanically sound and is quite raw but what is worse…..being an average QB that is mechanically sound, no leadership, and probably won’t lose the game for you but won’t win it either, or an unknonw QB that isn’t quite as mechanically sound, has leadership, and will do anything he can to help win the game for his team. You’d be suprised how far leadership goes….
This was one nasty Monday night!!!
You softies are losing the main perspective about the professional game of football, it is to kick somebody’s arse whenever you can! These guys are all professionals and Orton earns 9 mil to do what he does IN ONE YEAR!!! Of course he deserves any kind of abuse the fans want to throw at him when he has proven over two and a half years that he cannot get our O to win games, the first 6 games of 2009 were a mirage and has been replaced by a record of 7-23! If professional football players don’t want to get abused, GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS because they will get abused in every game on the field and in the stands if they don’t perform OVER AND OVER AND OVER, and they deserve every bit of it.
To listen to the few of you guys who feel so bad for Orton is a disgrace to men eveywhere, MAN UP! And that wasn’t for sndvl but LAXATIVE, LOL, what a crock, sounds like girls protecting their newborns, give me a freaking break. Orton is ordinary and has proven once and for all that he will never be a long term starter for any team in the NFL, just ask Miami!
And BFE may have been drunk but I’m stone sober, LMAO!
Bummer just getting a diarrhea run with all this laxative, LOL.
We are actually 7-24 since the 6-0 start of 2009, even worse….
Now, this is what Orton should feel bad about, being demoted, not being yelled at by the fans, from Lindsay Jones:
The Broncos’ quarterback drama will soon be over, at least the drama in its current form.
Coach John Fox will meet with his team, and individual players, this morning, after which he is expected to name Tim Tebow the team’s starting quarterback for the Oct. 23 game at Miami. Players were off Monday due to the bye week but will practice today and Wednesday before being dismissed for four consecutive days off.
She sure makes it sound as a done deal.
Geez Louise, Where was I last night, I missed all of the Fun. Looks to me like my bro BFE got the better of the debate. WOW!!
Wow, that read from last night is better than reading the DP. LOL
bay, what do you attribute to our inability to tackle? Is it just bad form on our part or are the opposing players just that hard to take down?
It really burns me every week.
When it comes to football, show no mercy. If you do your out of a job. Plain and simple.
Hell, that wasn`t even a debate. Well there comes a time when you just have to walk away, no use beating a dead horse into the ground, DEAF EARS ya know.
If you don`t show no mercy. ooops
Tackling has been a lost art in the NFL for a long time, they are all too worried about making the great plays like dislodging the ball or intercepting it that they find themselves behind the 8 ball when time comes to tackle the guy. Fundamentals, like winning in the trenches, bad teams get away from that relying more on flash in the pan plays, good teams get it. Look at Detroit front 4 on D last night, Suh and now Fairley plus two more monsters, that team built it right and will be good for a long time, tackling is not their problem, haha.
Dilfer is as boring as Orton. My hats off to Steve Young. Whoever is at QB it still takes a team effort. Steve young was a scrambling QB and won the SB, why not Tim Tebow. I know Young is pulling for Tim, no doubt.
I have no doubt that TT’s game will certainly evolve as he gains more experience behind center……….Of course his arm is rusty………he hasn’t thrown a meaningful pass in ages. It will come.
I like what Detroit is doing. I like seeing fresh new blood in the winning column.
Tebow will get better as the weeks go by. I`m not the slightest concerned for Tims progression. The only person who can stop Tebow is Tebow himself, aint gonna happen. Tims a winner.
I hear ya strand………after years of doing things wrong, detroit finally got it right. They are like a well oiled machine and unfortunately, I see megatron having a monster game against us. I don’t think our secondary can shut him down……….I mean, it seems no one can.
Hopefully we’re starting to take a page out of the same book and start doing things right as well.
The Detroit, Denver game is going to be better than I first expected. It just might be a game to remember.
I just browsed through the blogs from last night and the LAX dude was contradicting himself at the beginning of the night, then did a flip flop. Thats wishy washy if you ask me. Man, I wish I have gotten on last night, oh well.
TT will rush for 150+ yards! haha
I guess it’s official http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2011/10/11/team-told-tebow-is-the-starting-qb/10090/
Nick Fairley got his first action of the season for the Lions last night.
T- Scheff had one catch but was belted by Urlacher. Jahvid Best had an incredible run for a TD.
Yeah, those Lions are for real strand. That’s going to be a tough matchup.
Forte did well running off tackle against them. Cutler didn’t have much time to pass as they teed off on him in 2nd half.
We may consider no huddle and keep the D-line rotation of the field.
Getting ahead of myself…. that’s game after next.
So Tebow is named started. Ha!
That link is not pulling anything now!! LOL
That link isn’t working, so here is the text:
Broncos players were told at an 8 a.m. meeting today that Tim Tebow would replace Kyle Orton as the starting quarterback.
The decision had expected since Tebow replaced Orton at halftime of the Broncos’ game Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. It had been previously reported John Fox was expected to make the switch official when the team reconvened today.
The Broncos were down 23-10 at halftime when Fox yanked Orton at halftime and Tebow was informed by offensive coordinator Mike McCoy that he “was up.”
Tebow led the Broncos to two fourth-quarter touchdowns and had a final play pass into end zone knocked down in a 29-24 loss. The Broncos do not play this week so Tebow will make his first start of the season, fourth of his career, on Oct. 23 at Miami — where the Dolphins will honor former University of Florida football players.
There could be just as many Tebow fans, in other words, as Dolphin fans, in the stadium that day.
Now if I was Orton this is what would make me upset, not the fans yelling at me.
And I’m sure that’s the case, Orton doesn’t care about the fans, it’s just the Ortonites who care about how the fans treat him, sniff, sniff, LOL.
It’s always funny when the official news come down on a site well ahead of the official site.
LOL
