On 9NEWS KUSA-TV’s show with Elway on Monday, he spoke about the loss to the Packers and said: “Hopefully we can draw from this and realize that it was good for our guys to see what a world championship team looks like. Eventually we’ll get there but it’s going to take some time.”

Why can’t we send Tebow out there to just wing it? He is the closest thing to you I’ve seen with his scrambling ability and sheer heart and drive never say die mentality!

  2. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

Questions are currently being taken via Twitter.

  3. dbrouwer says:

Why are we wasting time with Orton. The team at some point has to see if Tebow will have what it takes. Why waste two years to find out that Tebow is not the future….

  4. micmurray says:

Care to explain why Tebow sits on the sidelines while the team keeps losing even at times when the game is beyond reach and his “learning” could be done on the field? Also, love that the team hears fans about jerseys but ignores them about the quarterback and most popular player.
Why not at least trade him so fans can see him play?

  5. milehikid says:

Orton is turnover prone and is a BIG part of why we are losing many games. Tebow is an energetic and fun player to watch and the fans want him in there. How do you know Tebow is not our best option if Coach Fox won’t even give him a chance?

  6. tnalen66 says:

We are going to make the playoffs so why not cut Orton and save some$ and see what Tebow has so we know at the the draft if we need a QB

  7. Critical says:

I think its very stupid not to put tebow in,orton throws to many stupid passes and cant run..

  8. Old_Fan_Taylor says:

I have watched Denver Broncos for 38 years – I watch each play – this last weekend I turned the game off at halftime. The reason, I was pissed off with the bone you threw me – one play for Tebow. I will not watch Denver play anymore until Orton is gone. I am a Denver FAN but not a Denver sheep. I don’t know what you have against Tebow but I wish you would tell us. I don’t know what you see in Orton but I can’t see it all I see is an average QB with not enough heart to win – he never does the little bit extra it takes to win or even get that much needed 3th down.

I mean this – I would sooner lose with Tebow than win with Orton

Please make the game fun again and let Tebow learn – Put Tebow in

  9. killerkod says:

I read an article in on nfl.com stating that the players in the locker room are all backing Orton as their starter still. Great job at being totally PC there guys…………we all know what you feel deep down………that Orton will never lead you to victories in this league….and while Tebow might be an uncertaintanty…it would be worth it to find out. The only certainty is that Orton IS NOT THE ANSWER!!

  10. FlyByU says:

What a joke all the good questions are not allowed just the easy ones that we already know. How about the questions about QB change and Coaching changes, FO changes things that are needed but left unanswered will be deleted and/or ignored.

  11. nwilson0720 says:

Ok, I have put some serious thought into this and the schedule works out this way. We had almost traded Orton to Miami when the lockout was over. However, since then they have not won a game and Henne got hurt Sunday. Denver is 1-3 looking at 1-4 after San Diego on Sunday. If we lose to San Diego going into our bye week and before the trading deadline, why not trade Kyle Orton to Miami (get all the picks we can get or DT help), send Orton off so he doesn’t have to deal with this Tebow Time drama in Denver, and start fresh with Brandon Marshall (they work well together). We can start Tebow, since it is going to be a losing season. Let’s see if he can play. He was drafted in the 1st round so we need to know if he can take the reins. If not, worst case scenario we lose outright this year, end 1-15 and draft Andrew Luck in the draft next year. Be practical about it. We are not going to win the division when we can’t beat a single team in our division, we won’t make the playoffs and we definently aren’t winning a Superbowl this year.

Orton to Miami just makes sense, for him, Marshall, Miami, Tebow, Denver and our team. My last plea…Tebow excites the fans and from what all the players on our team say, everyone picks up their game when he is on the field. He worked out with Lloyd and Decker this off season. I don’t remember Orton doing that! Just saying. What do you think?

  12. nwilson0720 says:

Oh one more thing. It would free up salary cap room to make off season acquisitions or another trade (Orton trade). Plus with the trade happening during the bye week, we have 2 weeks to get Tebow integrated with the Offense. It just makes sense with the schedules and the timing.

  13. GCN in tampa says:

    Question:

What is/are the set of circumstances where you will start Tim Tebow as quarterback?

    Comment:
This is the toughest season to be a Fan of the Broncos. They hire a coach that went 2-14 and seems to accept losing as they are 1-3 by the way with new head coaches the 49ers are 4-1 and so are the Titans. so it DOES NOT take 2 years to rebuild or turn around.

Second. As a fan we want to see Tim Tebow be given a shot! He provides sxcitment and entertainment. I would rather lose with Tim versus “stick it out” with someone who supposedly give us our best chance to win.

Last. IF we lose next week to SD and we dont make a change at QB I will pack up my Elway authentic jersey and send it back to Mr Bowlen and stop watching Denver games… we have a pretty good team here in Tampa witha 35 year old coach.

  14. mgriff133 says:

I understand that coaches don’t like Tebow as a QB, and quite frankly neither do I. However, if he is all about the team winning as he says he is, then why not put him into a TE role or perminant WR role? I think this will give us a Flex option and put a wrinkle into teams preparations for us since Tim might be able to do an end around throw similar to randel el when he was with the Steelers. Why waste the first round pick and money, use him at any position other than QB!!!

  15. mgriff133 says:

We need to STOP looking for the next John Elway because it is not going to happen…. Stop living in the past people!!! We need to find a QB who is good for our system, has the capabilities of winning tough games and has tough skin… I think that almost all of these qualities are in ORton… If you were at work and all your fellow employees or bystanders were booing you and saying fire him how well would you perform in that environment…. Seriously pull your heads out of the sand… Tebow did NOTHING IN PRESEASON to change the coaches minds about him… This isnt Peyton Manning where, even though he started his career 0-4, there was patience because they knew what they had… This is a kid who cant read defenses, his preparations for the season and every game are poor, and he has no touch on his passes… Oh Yea he is a lefty too… I honestly think that if the Broncos start Tebow at QB, it is because they want the best chance to lose every game left so they can have a shot at Andrew Luck, who might do a John Elway to us and refuse to play for us … Just saying…

  16. asinsoin says:

John, 35 year season ticket holder here and my question is simple. When you make the “statement that Kyle gives us the best chance to win now” what qualifiers are you using and how do you factor the “gamer” vs. “practice player” variables? Clearly Kyle does not have the ability to handle pressure and no amount of practice (which he is very good at) will change that, whereas Tim has that ability to improvise and create (not unlike yourself). I know that it frustrates Fox and McCoy that Tim doesnt have the offense down as well as Kyle but didn’t he himself say “I want a gamer and not a practice player”?
I feel you guys frustration but I assure you a large majority of the fans are even more frustrated with the very substandard product you’re selling us. Give me someone with heart and an intense desire to win and maybe a little less polish any day over someone with no athleticism, no heart and who makes statements like “It’s just one of those deals”, “It was just bad luck”, “I won’t cry over spilled milk” and my favorite “I really don’t care what the fans think”. This is not acceptable John and the clock is ticking…

  17. Elvisdoom4QBs says:

mcgriff…you do realize that of all our QB’s…in the presason Tebow had the highest competion % and QB rating. Of ALL of them. And who cares about preseason? Last year…with the starters in 3 games Tebow had a higher QB rating in this first 3 games and Peyton, Favre or Elway. Not saying that he is the next franchise QB, but to say he has shown NOTHING is just flat out wrong. Didnt Orton get blown out as the starter VS SD and Oakland? Yet with Tebow we were much more competetive against Oakland and were a hail mary away from beating SD. The only time Orton has ever won more games than he lost was in Chicago where he had a world class D, superb running game and great ST play. We have none of those. So..how is Orton our best chance to win when he has PROVEN that he cannot win games in the NFL without those 3 things I mentioned? He is not. I dont know if Tebow is the answer, but wouldnt it be better to know that by the end of this year, or better to still not know by next draft? You think the call for Tebow is loud now, imagine if we stick with Orton all year, end up with the #1 pick and draft Luck without ever having given Tebow a shot? Does Luck deserver to be brought in to that dynamic? If Tebow starts next week and all the rest of the year and falls flat on his face, then the calls will stop. We will draft Luck and everyone will be happy.

  18. shaztah says:

I bet you any amount of money that some of these bloggers are actually real Bronco team members and they are voicing their real opinions. They can’t say anything in public against their QB cuz then they might get cut or receive no playing time. You have to know that they blame Orton and are frustrated just like we are.

  19. mgriff133 says:

So let me get this right… You want a guy to start that went 1-2 as a starter completed less than 50% of his passes and passed for 4 TD’s and threw 3 picks last year… And yes preseason matters since that is where you impress your coaches in order to start.. All I am saying is that some fans believe that Tebow should be the starter because he was drafted in the first round or because he was soooo great at Florida… Listen if Rodgers started right out of college he wouldnt be as great as he is now he sat in the wing and watched for FIVE years … Tebow has a LOT to learn about football and being a QB.. Fans need to be patient because if we force the issue with Tebow we will boo him too and he wil no longer be the SAVIOR… And just to prove my point further… Orton had a 104 QB rating in 3 games… Tebow 108 in 4 games…. I would still go with orton because he has the experience if it were 108 to 89 or so then I would make the switch…. Orton has the job we should support him as such

  20. FoolsBall says:

The Broncos are giving mixed messages. In one comment John Fox says they are a 4-12 team and 1-3 so far this year. So he likes to use last year when it comes to his benefit, but then when asked about Kyle Orton he says he is only “1-2 for us” (this comment was before the Green Bay game). So we are to ignore the past when it benefits him, but remember it when it benefits him. So two faced.

Then they say they are going to play the players that give them the best chance to win (not rebuilding), yet say it will take multiple drafts to get where they need to go (rebuilding). Why can’t the team admit they are rebuilding and play the players who will be on the roster in the future. Kyle Orton will not play well enough to earn a new contract so play someone with some upside.

Why can’t the Bronco’s admit they have no chance of making the Super Bowl this year and the best chance they have to win a Super Bowl in the future would be to play some younger guys and develop them. They don’t need to give up on this season, just try your best and be exciting with “unproven” talent and quit wasting valuable time and resources by playing people who won’t be here next year. Playing Kyle is definitely not increasing his trade value.

Yesterday John Fox said the fans just want to win now. He is so far off base in this comment. The fans are the only ones willing to admit this team isn’t good enough to win it all this year and that we should invest for the future, the complete opposite of his comment. Do you all at Dove Valley think we are that dumb? I hate to lose, but I’d rather lose with a purpose and plan than lose with people who won’t be here in a year or two. I love watching football, spend way too much time doing it, but watching the Bronco’s is harder than it should be with the mixed messages they are putting out.

  21. Elvisdoom4QBs says:

mcgriff…I would like to thank you for making my point for me. The fact that a rookie…on a horrendous team was comparable to a 7 year vet. That right there is all I need to hear. Lets not forget, Orton and Quinn are gone next year. The only QB’s on the roster then will be Tebow and maybe Weber. If you are running a business and someone gives you notice that they intend to retire the next year, do you not start looking right away for someone else who can do the job, have them work together and then hand the job off to the new guy? You really want to have this new guy running the show when he has not done it before? Wouldnt you rather see if he can do the job? That is all I am saying. See if Tebow can make it or not. If he cant…then I will be standing in line with everyone saying that he needs to be moved. But to move a guy when you dont know what he can do is just plain absurd. And for the preseason…lets count it then. Orton did worse than Tebow. PERIOD. And lets not forget…when Tebow was out there playing it was with the worst 2nd string O-line in the league. And since Mr. Fox is now admitting that this was a completely new offense and Tebow had exaclty 1 month to learn a complete new offense then of course Orton is going to look better right now, he is a 7 year vet. What happens when Tebow has the offense down then? If he put up better #’s than Orton without knowing the offense as well….doesnt that point to more natural talent?
All I am saying is we know what we are going to get with Orton, but we do not know what we COULD get with Tebow. We are 1-3 and going nowhere fast except headed to a top 5 pick in the draft. Why not see what he has got?

  22. bronco life says:

a ? for john .With orton turning the ball over repeatedly and the fans talking about not going to games or buying anymore bronco merchandise .how long are you gunna sit by and let fox waste away the season by not playing tebow?someone please ask him that ? for me!!

  23. mgriff133 says:

Elvisdoom4QBs… I know I did make your point for you … And I understand what you are saying … all I am saying is that I am not a believer that Tebow is the answer at QB… He hasnt shown me anything … I think him as a WR Flex starter is the best position for him and the team as I said before they can do end around option passes for him and other things … Don’t get me wrong I agree that Tebow is a talented player and a play maker but not as a QB … I think why we as fans are so upset that Tebow isnt starting is because we all know that he is a play maker but at the same time we arent sure about him as a QB which is why we want him in… put him in the slot/flex … just his presence on the field will make fans happy and Im not talking 1 play a week Im talking more than half the plays

  24. rayjr26 says:

wow… where did all the TT haters come from? the last 2 years ive been on this blog and never seen or heard from 95% of them. This is the same topic we have been discussing here for 32 GAMES NOW! Where have you all been hiding? LOL To say that Tebow doesnt work hard is probably the most bone headed comment i have read on here in a while. Question the guys mechanics all you want, but ask around…. Tebow’s work ethic is STELLAR, bar none!! Also have to comment on the Brady Quinn being out of shape. Dude, he is a fitness junkie! He is in shape. I promise! Look, we are all tired of losing. The final common denominator is Orton. Even the announcers last weekend said “hey, Tebow could make THESE throws”. None of us know what the future holds, but im pretty sure we can agree that the long term future does NOT hold Orton. Quinn? Maybe they resign him at the end of the year. Weber? Maybe he makes the 53 man roster, maybe not. But Tebow has what…. 2 years left on his contract? So short of a wild trade, he WILL be here next year. So Im totally prepared to have another 4-12 season, but if thats the case then why not get our 2nd year QB some game time action so that we can limit the growing pains for next year? At the very least, as many others have stated, we would know by seasons end whether we need to draft a QB early or not.

    ROCKET SCIENCE… I KNOW!!
    GO BRONCOS

  25. coloradodv says:

Orton DOES NOT GIVE US THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN! Look at the stats, and face the facts!

Dump Orton, Dump Quinn, Tebow Start, Weber Backup. Find a new 3rd stringer.

The fans do not know what they are talking about! Maybe we need to sit out a few games! How many boycotts would it take to get a Roster Change!?

  26. mrmachebeuf says:

Why waste our time trying to ask Elway to address the Tebow situation? Did you see his TV show this week? Tebow’s name wasn’t even mentioned despite that being all the fans want. I hope John’s not going to be a pompous &*^ like Fox is. Afterall, it is the fans that pay your salary Johnny. Might want to give us something we want like a QB who cares about winning and a coach who cares about the fans.

  27. broncopower07 says:

I dont understand why we keep wasting our time with Orton. Its like their mad a Tebow for what McDaniels did. They need to give the guy a chance. When Elway was drafted who gave him a chance? Yup the Denver Broncos, When John Fox went 2-14 last year who is giving him a chance to redeem himself? Yup the Denver Broncos. So why not let Tebow play and bring some excitement back to Denver along with winning games.

  28. zachbsixers says:

This just makes me sad, like all year I got pumped up even during the lockout that this year even though we still have a lot of holes like players not able to tackle on D? I feel so sorry for Champ tho, I wish we had never made that trade now that when it occured I thought was the most intelligent thing ever. Portis was good but Shannahan can get anybody to run, look at Washington now. But I’m sorry because I want him to get a ring not that Washington has but geez. But back to Moreno who can’t stay off the bench and neither can Dumerville. Von Miller and Moore are playing pretty decent but I have still not seen much excitement as preseason. I was there in Tennessee for my first football game since I live in VA and saw a Moreno running all over the place but with a leg injury?? I didn’t understand, I enjoyed the heart but why couldn’t he play if he was dancing on the Titan logo? I mean didn’t really need him, he should lose his job to McGahee. Now with all things aside, I saw a better throwing arm in a Kyle Orton compared to Tim Tebow. But anybody knows that its not an arm that wins games, lets look at Jay Cutler for crying out loud which was actually pretty smart to get rid of him. He has a cannon and with a Bears D he got pretty far but he didn’t win and we don’t have a D and Orton doesn’t have something. I don’t know the guy and I don’t know Tim Tebow. I watched Elway leaping into the endzone and getting killed in a Super Bowl and I watch Orton. With just no intensity, no drive and what I see as no heart but like I said I don’t know him. But when he tells me he plays for John Fox and not me, I already want him gone. Because this sport makes money and sells seats because of me not John Fox, he’s just a person in charge of a team I love and I pay my hard earned money, whether it be when I was in Iraq defending this country or when I’m here as a civilian. I didn’t like his comment on that, so what if the fans aren’t pleased I’ve seen no wins and thats what makes a team who they are, not throwing yards or statistics. Whether Tom Brady is in charge with record numbers or Newton, everybody wants wins and the Patriots do that and so far Carolina hasn’t. I didn’t watch much college of Tebow but I’ve heard of him winning and I want to see my team win and my opinion is to get him in there and Orton out. Start rebuilding now and if you don’t think its Tebow, give Brady Quinn another shot, I think Steve Young had an experience with that as well. But regardless Orton is not winning and hasn’t so why keep him in longer? And I don’t want to see him as a wide out, its not like he has amazing speed. I’ve heard him speak and I’ve seen him play a few times and I see a leader. So he needs to lead and everybody knows the QB is that on Offense.

  29. zachbsixers says:

Sorry I meant to say in my first sentence how we would make a QB change and thats why I got pumped. but we didn’t and haven’t and we’re still losing. But I’ll always wear my hat and shirts even when I get spit on. lol I don’t really get spit on…

  30. gottrails says:

With the trade deadline quickly approaching, is there any effort being made to renew discussions with Miami regarding Orton? Orton is in the last year of his deal and Henne is in his last year also. It seems to make sense to get some trade value for Orton in draft picks to build the team instead of waiting for the season to play out and get nothing for him and miss the playoffs. Orton’s confidence has been affected by constantly being attacked by fans while playing at home, so he needs to go for sake of a fresh start.
