Submit Your Questions for ‘Elway Live’

January 2nd, 2012 - 6:08pm by Kenny Legan

For the first time in six years, the Denver Broncos are in the postseason. As a result, ‘Elway Live’ returns Tuesday at 2 p.m. MST for a special playoff edition.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway will join Broncos TV’s Chris Hall for the live, online-streamed audio broadcast on DenverBroncos.com. Elway and Hall will breakdown the team’s loss to Kansas City and look ahead to the Broncos home playoff game Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The show is 30 minutes long and features fan-submitted questions for Elway.

Questions are currently being taken via Twitter and will continue to be taken during the show. To submit your questions, tweet using the hashtag #ElwayLive.

After the show, the broadcast will be archived to DenverBroncos.com and will also be available as a podcast through iTunes.

To listen to any episode, visit www.DenverBroncos.com/ElwayLive.

On 9NEWS KUSA-TV’s show Monday night, Elway talked about the mixed emotions of the team after losing to the Chiefs yet still getting a spot in the playoffs.

“We’re in and that’s the thing,” Elway said. “I think everybody’s disappointed at how we played yesterday and I think that’s the bigger cause of being downbeat about where we are because of how we played. But if you look at the beginning of the year and where we started and what our goals were, to be able to win the division, we got that done. It’s a positive.”

Honestly, how many QBs have ever had a career ending neck injury,he was throwing the ball in practice last week.

  2. strandoftds says:

Thats wild, I can`t see him getting banned for any reason, he`s not overly aggressive with his words nor have I seen him attack any blogger. Could it have been from his religous talk? I wouldn`t think so, real bazarre.

  3. baylinorcrush says:

Manning has just become too much of a liability with his neck, for them or any other team as far as I’m concerned.

  4. BeastFromEast92 says:

Manning signs a 3 year deal with the Broncos, teaching Tebow the ropes and taking us to the SB along the way….pipe dream, lol.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

Bizarre indeed. I guess nice guys finish last, LOL.

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Agree bay,just dreaming bro!

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Religious talk hasn’t banned the latest bible class teacher on this blog yet.

  8. seweatherman1 says:

Throwing the ball is one thing BFE. Getting that one hit on that field is another. His neck has been fused. He gets one hit on it, the doctors will not be able to fix it next time, especially if it involves a spinal cord injury, which is highly possible with fused vertabrae.

  9. BeastFromEast92 says:

Bay you got a Broncos Bible,I thought you were the class teacher,LMAO!

  10. BeastFromEast92 says:

    weatherman,I know man,I was just dreaming,lol.

  11. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, haha, different bible, mine is more in tune with this blog….

  12. BeastFromEast92 says:

Manning had a shot at a lot of records, too bad for him,he’s a Helluva nice guy,and from TN too!

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

As it should be on this blog!

  14. baylinorcrush says:

Here we go again, Tennessee boys to the core.

  15. BeastFromEast92 says:

    LMAO!!!

  16. strandoftds says:

What is your take on the missed calls for grabbing the facemask not being called week after week with against the Broncos? Just human error? Is frustrating when it`s a full blown facemask and the ref doesn`t throw the flag. Aggravating!

  17. BeastFromEast92 says:

Actually he’s from Louisianna, just played at UT.

  18. baylinorcrush says:

Maybe wherever Fisher goes he’ll bring in Manning, Tennessee boys stick together, haha.

  19. Bronco_Turtle says:

Strand… Daddy is posting on a new handle because his old handle got banned for some reason…

his new handle has dad13xbronco or something similar!

  20. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think it was bull crap, but a lot of people are blaming the loss on it,I don’t see it that way!

  21. baylinorcrush says:

It was more the back of the helmet than the face mask, hard to see on real live game speed. But all the guys who want to use referee excuses here had a great old time with that one, going as far as saying we win the game if they call it, LOL.

  22. BeastFromEast92 says:

I heard Fischer wanted to go to St Lous or SD,so he would have a good QB to work with, but hey Manning is good,if he just had a new neck!

  23. brian_schneider says:

Human error is part of it and the other part of it is the official’s discretion. The problem with allowing the official’s to use “discretion” they don’t always throw the flag. For example, if a DT is 15 yards behind the ball carrier and gets held…yeah it is a penalty but was he really going to make the play, probably not. However it is technically a penalty.

  24. seweatherman1 says:

I especially liked the missed facemask on Decker Sunday. One of them the ref was standing about 10 feet away and didn’t see it. He literally was turned completely around on the 1st one. I momentarily lost religion on both of them venting to the refs.

  25. strandoftds says:

We had a few oppertunitys to get in striking distance to make it a closer game. For instance the sack against Tim had taken us out of FG range, not smart.

  26. BeastFromEast92 says:

Alright guys, gotta go pay some bills,Bronc on Bros!!!

  27. baylinorcrush says:

The funny thing is I always thought Manning had this huge way oversized neck, and I guess it was so elongated it broke like a leg…

  28. brian_schneider says:

You want to talk about a guy with a crazy neck..Merton Hanks. Loved that guys TD dance!

  29. seweatherman1 says:

I think Manning also contributed his having to have this 3rd surgery and fusion to the lockout. JHe was not able to get the work from the medical staff and trainers that he needed.

  30. strandoftds says:

Hanks was a long neck, kinda like a Corona bottle. LOL!

  31. killerkod says:

how much good football does everyone think manning has left in him?

  32. brian_schneider says:

I don’t know the full extent of his injury and what residual affect it will have on him , but if completely healthy I’d say a few more seasons possibly.

  33. baylinorcrush says:

You would need to ask the medical staff that question, as far as I’m concerned it’s not a football question anymore.

  34. seweatherman1 says:

I think he is done, just doesn’t want to admit it.

  35. killerkod says:

I guess he could stick to making commercials…………lol

  36. raidrhadr says:

kod: I have personally been of the opinion that he has taken his last snap in the NFL. They have been way too secretive imo about the situation.

Don’t get me started on the officiating the past few weeks. ugh!!!

  37. seweatherman1 says:

He would make one heck of a qb coach.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

    TRB

    Any guarantees this week? LOL.

  39. baylinorcrush says:

And, please, not the ones that aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, LMAO!

  40. Sutphin15 says:

Any chance the Broncos will pursue Andrew Luck in the upcoming draft? I understand you (Broncos) would have to give up “alot” to even sniff the number 1 pick, but could it be worth it in the long run?

Stanford graduate with all the tools…Sounds familiar!

  41. BeastFromEast92 says:

Bay,I guaranteed we would make the playoffs,I might have been plastered, but it still counts…..I will not guarantee anything else this season…100% correct on my guarantees this year, and I am retiring, lol.

  42. killerkod says:

I don’t think we should sell the farm for what is essentially an unproven talent at the NFL level thus far.

  43. BeastFromEast92 says:

Signing in,making up a handle, just to ask a question on what the fans think,a little dramatic don’t you think?

Anyway,I would love to see Luck in the Orange and Blue,at any cost!!!

Whatever Elway decides,I will back him 100%.

  44. brian_schneider says:

I guarantee that Fox will not waiver from his offensive style. We’re once again going to rely on stopping their offense, keeping the game close, and running the football with as little passing as possible. Maybe even going back to the read option?

  45. BeastFromEast92 says:

From what I saw last night,Luck was calling plays, moving the Offense around, audibling, just like only Manning can do,but he is a still college kid,but has great poise and potential, the best I’ve seen since Manning was in college, imo.

  46. BeastFromEast92 says:

Remember Elway is the boss, not Fox!

  47. BeastFromEast92 says:

Luck was asked the question last night after the game”What will you do if the Colts draft you”?
Luck said”I will play my best for whoever drafts me”.

  48. dad13xbroncsfan says:

Hey Strand – I’m still kickin’. I don’t think I have been banned as much as there seems to be some technical gliche with my old handle.

Bay – I enjoy your morning postings – you save me a tremendous amount of time.

Don’t know why you guys respond to those posts that have fighting demeanor. Doesn’t make much difference to me what side of an issue the blogger takes, I don’t find insults to be very entertaining. I like the challenge of turning the discussion to a reasonable tone personally.

    My stubborn position:
Tebow can throw – We have seen him make amazing NFL throws, into tight windows, with pressure.
    Why is he struggling now?
What is needed to turn things back?
Tebow will be a starting QB in the NFL with some franchise.
Will it be with the Broncos?
Will the fans run Tebow out on a rail, due to impatience?
Will the Bronco fans be watching Tebow success in a different franchise, wishing he could come back?
Will the Broncos continue to throw away great players?

  49. olap2009 says:

Yes, sell the farm Luck is the real deal, Football is a team sport but with the right QB it is a one man game, ask the Colts

  50. baylinorcrush says:

To my football knowledge Luck has all the tools to be very successful in the NFL barring injuries and Elway knows it. What he can do about it remains unknown.
