god the play calling is killing us, mcD needs to man up his play calling skills and prove he is this "offensive genius." i dont know how many times i've seen us try to run up the middle on 3rd and 4th and 1's... back to back! come on dude, and quit with these damn receiver screens all the time, they do nothing for us except once every 20 tries. and use hillis, for gods sake hes our mojo in the red zones. come on mcD we need you to step up.

i love the broncos with all my heart but i've said it earlier this season, i said it a couple weeks ago, and im saying it now. play calling is killing us, we're not the patriots, we're the broncos, so play like the broncos.

defensively the raiders just played to our aggressivness, they ran counter on us all day...I guess I'd rather lose because we're too aggressive than lose becuase we played prevent...
we win week 16 Broncos 27 Eagles 21.
we win week 17 Broncos 32 Cheifs 10.

Hillis and his skin color (i think i speak for a lot of us on this blog) have no bearing on our insistence to use him in the games. I hear McDaniels talk a lot about "situational" football. We are in 3rd and short and 4th n short quite often. So far we have been unable to solve this and sustain drives. Hillis is tough to tackle, hits the hole and keeps his legs moving. He is versatile. As he can play FB as well. He has great hands and decent vision. Give him a shot. That is all we are asking. If he can't do it, then we can blame it on the o-line not getting the job done.
Many players in the league talk about getting their opportunity. Especially when an injury occurs. That was the case with Hillis. His draft position does not mean a thing. I remember a certain RB who was taken in the 6th round. Special teamer and got his shot due to injury. #30!!!! Maybe Hillis isn't a starter, or an every down back. But a change of pace, definitely. Short yardage, no doubt. Goal line, hey good D is good D. But a bruiser like #22 should be given the opportunity. Only him and McD know why he is in the proverbial dog house. Something tells me we have a better chance at picking up those short tough yards in certain "situations" with Hillis. McD probably won't give him his chance. But color has NOTHING to do with it! GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!

brian, you hit it right on the nail, no pun intended, LOL, you just listed the 3 games that I called must win games, SD at home, at Washington and Oakland at home, if we truly had something in the tank, something tells me we would of seen some of it, maybe not for all 3 games, but at least one of them. Anyhow, couldn't agree more, hopefully there is more to our offensive play calling that we have seen all year, one can always hope, It's almost Christmas, isn't it a time for miracles? LOL. Seriously, I hope McD will baffle us and the Eagles in the process, SHOCK AND AWE is the only way we win this game, IMO.

About the throwback to Clady, yeah that was a classic comedy play, it all gave us a good laugh. Did you notice, when we tried a throwback play to the other side of the roll out once again, the Raiders were once again all over it. My theory is the Raiders knew Orton never moves out of the pocket, so both time he did they immediately knew it was a trick play, it's that simple. If you want somebody to buy on it, you need to have your QB roll out once a while and throw it down field, then the deception would have a chance to succeed. This why this was good comedy, that's all it was. Not so funny for us in the end, but it made me laugh when it happened none the less.

A part of me thinks there is something hidden in the tank. McD learned a few tricks from Bill and may have something up his sleeve. Another part of me wonders why wait til now, wouldn't you want to bust it out against SD and OAK even maybe WAS? Maybe this is all "growing pains" with the new coach, system, and players?

BFE92, good to see you here, I thought you were gone in a hiatus with a bout of depression, LOL, haven't seen you rant here about this loss yet, I've done mine and I feel much better. I agree that the play calling is not adequate and why some bloggers don't see it that way is mind boggling. They can execute everything the way it's been called so far this year to perfection on Sunday, it won't matter, to beat the Eagles you need a heck of lot more explosive plays in your arsenal to make up for the points they will score. This will be some sort of high scoring affair in my opinion, and conservative play calling once again would probably mean the end of our season. If you have anything hidden in the tank, coach, this would be the time to bring it to the table, if you don't obviously you don't have that dimension in your game plan yet. We are playing our 15th game, plus 4 pre-season games, keeping a game simple offensively because the team is still young is not a valid excuse any longer. Hopefully you have something to show us, as usual I'll be there hoping to see it.

Broncosfolife88, I wouldn't go to the extent of the conspiracy theory you are refering to about the officiating, however, I will say that ever since the Hochuli bad call against SD last year, there has been an effort officiating wise to make sure the Broncos are not helped again by officiating, but it's grand time for the officials to look past that, they have made up for it plenty since that call with a pletora of non calls which we could of used as was clearly the case Sunday. When the Hochuli call happened, I immediately thought that it would eventually come back to haunt us, and it has, time to let it go officials.

I think McD needs to step back and look at the talent we have and utilize. If he would simply just do that and we lost it wouldn't hurt so damn much, but to see us lose to a team like the Raiders with a LOT less talent,is a damn shame to our organization. The play calling is starting to suck,I blame this disgracing loss on the coaching staff.GO BRONCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOW MUCH DAMN TALENT DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE ON OFFENSE TO SCORE AGAINST THE 30TH RANKED DEFENSE????????????
