With the Senior Bowl ready to kick off tomorrow, showcasing some of the premier college talent trying to raise their stock before the NFL Draft, one of our esteemed PR workers Erich Schubert happened upon this quote on a former Bronco that impressed in the game years ago — Al Wilson.
“He was very impressive that day,” Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Jack Del Rio said on Jaguars.com. “We were right down on him. I was almost in the huddle. He was just real infectious with his passion. He would rally the guys. He took charge of the huddle. He played with a great deal of energy and had some real jarring hits during the week. I knew he was going to play well and make it in the NFL and be a good player, which he was.”

I miss big Al. He brought a lot of intensity to the defense (not to mention athletic ability). The defense just hasn’t been the same since he got hurt.
DAmn this guy was good ! We need to go after Ray Malauga in the draft. If that doesn’t work then we should get any Raven LB that hits free agency, which is all 3 I believe. Since we’re probably moving to 3-4, Malauga, Boss, DJ, and ( Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, or Terrell Suggs) would be a killer squad.

Al Wilson was a hell of a player, a leader both on and off the field. The man had a passion for football that carried over to his teammates. We need someone with a pissed off attitude on this defense. Someone that doesn’t take “I tried” as an answer. Someone that will get in his teammates faces and demand excellence. I’d like to get Raji in the first round if he’s there. 330lb nose tackles don’t grow on trees and I’ve only found 3 pure 3-4 nose guards in this years draft. Raji has that nastiness that Al had, we need it back in Denvers huddle.
#56 Al Wilson should instantly be in the Ring of Honor/Fame. he was the unquestioned leader of our D. Not Lynch. Not Champ. Not Romo. Mr. Wilson. I agree w/hrdnokd…we need someone w/serious BadA!@ Intention attitude on D. Look @ Ray lewis+Dawkins+bobby Sanders+Urlacher+james harrison..the list goes on and on…those teams are consistently in the hunt. Our O is rock solid. D needs total overhaul. I love Woodyard’s hunger+speed, but since he’s young I don’t know if the other players respond to him. maybe #57 will be that fiery leader broncos D have been missing the past few years…if not…Get somebody…it will make a difference…punches n bunches.
#57 is mario haggan #59 is woodyard so im confused we need to get a lot of free agents if we wanna be a top defensive team oj atogwe rams safety is one vilma mauluaga in the draft, haynesworth , peppers, suggs, mike brown, lewis. good options we just gotta go get em
you’re right. I’m wrong. I meant Woodyard #59. heard of Byrd (Oregon) DB?Safety. he’s a super athlete+gamer. Great pick up @ 3rd rd. Atogwe is a decent safety, but Id rather get Mike Brown (Bears). Our #1 free agent should be Dunta Robinson. Get rid of Bly. I think he’s garbage…punches n bunches

jairus byrd is sick your right lots of potential in that kid. Bly is ok he is getting old guys just like champ. and we cant expect anyone to be as good as champ. we should of kept foxy. we need to draft a corner in the third or higher make some moves get a free agent but i agree corner is becoming a problem outside of champ and we gotta plan for the future and get someone in here champ can teach, could be josh bell but you never know we need better then an undrafted kid released from san diego. big free agency and draft biggest one of my time as a bronco fan this one matters a lot
yo what up? no joke ’bout Byrd (is it Jarius or Jairus??? not sure). I also like DJ Moore (Vandy)+Mike Mickens (Cincy), but I think those guys are 1st+2nd rd guys and we need to draft DL+edge rusher/Linebacker for 1st 2 picks. Webster is gone nxt yr, but you gotta love how his “hat” flies off every game. Niko was a bust, but I hope he proves me wrong. Woodyard is a BEAST!!, but only 220lbs-reminds you of Tom Jackson back in the day?! Larsen is a worker, but needs to stick @ 1 position. I’d keep him @ mike LB. Josh Bell is a back-up @ best, but he’s fiesty. Jack Williams (even though he’s small) I still say give him a go @ Safety (chk out Brian Leonhard of the Ravens). Kid is Nailz. Champ is losing a step, but still the BEST CB in the game. Bly did better in run support (ask KC Q-Thigpen), but still gave up waaaaay too many big plays. I was never in favor of lett’n Foxy go. Fox is much better than Bly+Fox seems to be a great leader for Broncos+community. I’m AMPED for the draft. I think BroncosCountry will know a lot ’bout our new coach come last w/nd in April. If he doesn’t go HEAVY on the D by FA’s+Draft then it was a very, very, bad move in signing coach McD…am I right or am i right???? punches n bunches
Ray Lewis, and Terrell Suggs are great players but TOO EXPENCIVE. bart scott would do but how bout Nick Roach and trade Dre to the Bucs for Ruud
i was lookin for a D minded coach but denver is an O team always have been so i wouldnt say it was dumb to hire McD but unexpected. i guess he saw that Shanny had us throwin most of the time and thats what McD coaches so it would fit our scheme very well. pluss we made a good move in bringin in Nolan

ruud can not be gotten via trade for bly, he is way too good he will be a buck unless they have serious cap issues
My worst moment as a Bronco fan was watching ole 56 getting takin off in a cart. The scary thing is I would rather have him on a cart then the 3 starters we have now. DJ would be great trade bait, Webster is a special teams guy, and the best part of Bailey is he’s Champs brother. Our second team guys out played them while they were hurt (Bailey was hurt every play). They are paying that guy 17 million, and folks wonder why Shanny is gone. FRIGGIN DUH!!!!
