You are right Brian Schneider

Players are getting payed ridiculous younger and younger for not proven anything, but both Marshall and cutler were proven and were improving every year. Instead of paying millions to a random shot in the dark higher. we got cutler at a steal even for a 13 pic first rounder. You will never see argue that BMARSH is right with his off the field issues. All im saying is that it doesnt get more proven than the pro bowl.

Everyone is looking out for their interests. Players are almost like "sluts" to these "pimps". When u decrease in value u are fired and left with whatever injuries and damage u took playing the game. some players just want future security. Almost all nfl players knees (at least) are shot by the time their career is over. Im not saying not being a team player is right. but I believe Cutler and Marshall had egos but didn't place themselves above the team. At least they act in a professional manner in front of cameras.

We will never know what truly happens behind closed doors which is why i never crucify people.

PS: Rod smith and ed mc are rarities at the top WR position. True class acts. Royal seems to be going down that path.

ORANGE CRUSH ALL DAY!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!

mrbroncofan, Kyle is no Tom Brady, "yet." He has the best QB coach available (IMO). Lets see what McD can do for Kyles career.

Jamie Dukes is an overly opinionated moron who can't get past the Cutler thing. He must have had a serious man crush on Jay. He is worse then The Enquirer. Loves to talk his trash. Let him. Come the end of the year when Denver has a winning record, Dukes will be made out as the hack we know him to be. He can hate on McD all he wants. You have to be taken seriously in order to make an impact. The Bronco nation DOES NOT take him serious.

As for Rod, yes, he is 100% correct in regards to Brandon. If you want to know how to be successful and respected in the NFL Brandon, look up Rod. Take his words to heart and know he is genuinely concerned and honest when he speaks to you and offers advice.

It's obvious as night and day, the "Evolution of NFL PLayers pt. 1" I don't know if there will be a pt. 2 I just like having some fun on here.

Rod Smith vs. Brandon Marshall.

Rod has close to every Broncos receiving record, was never a holdout, never had off-field issues, played the game with his mouth shut, worked harder in his sleep than some of the WR today, and has two rings and IMO H.O.F. and should retire his jersey. Oh yeah and all this from an undrafted, unselfish, and high character MAN.

Brandon has had a couple of good season, didn't holdout but pretty close, has off-field issues, opens his mouth then plays the game, works harder at getting traded than on learning the system, if he does leave someone else will wear 15, selfish little KID.

I only say this because look at the evolution of the NFL players. Plus Rod is classy and that interview he gave at minicamp, about "I don't have to find him, he should come find me," that was awesomely true. I'm glad to see some of the other guys taking advice from Rod, especailly Royal, he's pretty classy too.

I have a crystal ball and it tells me that younger and younger players are going to start wanting more and more for doing less and less. It's crazy how much these guys get paid. Stafford $75 million or something like that and Sanchez was $60 million or something..whatever. These guys haven't even proven themselves yet. Remember Ryan Leaf 2nd pick behind Manning...you wouldn't, the only reason you do is because he is trouble with the law.
If the league would just reduce all this nonsence hi salary for no performance these types of problems wouldn't be that big. The way some players act today, 10-15 years ago probably would have gotten their butts kicked in the locker room.

WTF does Jamie Dukes know? What do any of know. We don't have a crystal ball to see the future. All we have is our opinions. Some of agree with each other and some don't. I can't wait for the season to get started so we can all see who was wrong and who was right, but I hope that either way, we see those who were wrong recant what they were saying before the season started. I fully support this team and coaching staff.

GO BRONCOS GOOD LUCK ON A GREAT SEASON!!!!

I think that Marshall and Cutler both put their ego before the team and leg their pride get the best of them. I don't think that McDaniels' ego is getting the best of him. Sure he has made some unpopular decisions, but I don't think it has been an issue of his ego. I think it is because he thinks that those moves can really help this club be a strong contender. Or I could be totally wrong...

« Ravens backfield could be fantasy headache … again
My advice for Ochocinco: Focus on football »
Put Up Your Dukes
Don’t blame Bowlen for stupid moves

Brandon Marshall is still under contract to the Broncos, so I have to temper my disdain for the complete dismantling of an NFL franchise. A lot of people place the blame on the owner of the Denver Broncos, Pat Bowlen, and the reality is that the ire is misguided. Bowlen is a businessman who did not become a billionaire because he knew some unique secret that revolutionized the NFL.

Bowlen made a legitimate decision to replace Mike Shanahan, and while I don’t agree with the firing, I agree with the stated reason. According to Shanahan, Bowlen lives by a business axiom that sometimes change is good. The Broncos were at a point of diminishing returns, in Bowlen’s mind, and so he made the move.

Enter Josh McDaniels. McDaniels convinced Bowlen that he could move faster by bringing in Matt Cassel. In my mind, McDaniels’ theory was flawed, but I’m sure it sounded good to the billionaire businessman who just handed the reins to the boy genius. From the football intellectual perspective, there is really no argument Bowlen could have offered, especially given the fact that McDaniels sold himself to Bowlen.

Because of the exploits of Jerry Jones, there is a perception that every owner has the same insights. That is a flawed assumption. Most NFL owners are businessmen. At the end of the day, they are making gut decisions on the guys that they hire as coaches. That is a far cry from having some kind of football genius.

Now Marshall is on his way out of town. According to reports, Marshall met with Bowlen and the team is reportedly entertaining the idea of trading the Pro Bowl wideout. “The Boy Genius” has obviously let his ego get in the way. This will potentially be the second Pro Bowl player to leave the NFL’s No. 2-ranked offense.

Pat, it’s not your fault, but it’s obvious you’ve hired a boy with a boy’s temperament to do a man’s job.

What say you?
