The voters have spoken and although Shannon Sharpe made the list of the final 10 candidates, he was not voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Those who were voted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2009 are:
* Wide Receiver Bob Hayes — 1965-1974 Dallas Cowboys, 1975 San Francisco 49ers
* Offensive Guard Randall McDaniel — 1988-1999 Minnesota Vikings, 2000-01 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
* Defensive End Bruce Smith — 1985-1999 Buffalo Bills, 2000-03 Washington Redskins
* Linebacker Derrick Thomas — 1989-1999 Kansas City Chiefs
* Buffalo Bills Owner/Founder Ralph Wilson Jr.
* Defensive Back Rod Woodson — 1987-1996 Pittsburgh Steelers, 1997 San Francisco 49ers, 1998-2001 Baltimore Ravens, 2002-03 Oakland Raiders

Joke, robbery…
But hey, no big surprise, a Cowboys and a Steelers player got in, so they won’t have to feel left out, they got their 100000+1 players now…
JOKE!!!!!!
StormST, don’t forget about an owner getting in before these “voters decide to let Sharpe in. Oh yeah I forgot, the Bills are on the East Coast, so it is no question that they should let him in over Shannon. The Hall of Fame is a complete Joke, I mean look how they treated Randy Gradishar. And the stupid thing about that is when they asked the late, great Walter Payton, who was the LB that hit the hardest, his answer…Randy Gradishar!!
I think the NFL needs to change it voting policy and let current and former players, coaches and owners vote for the hall of fame.
I like who they let in but they shoulda let Shannon in instead of ralph wilson for sure. he was the standard at tight end and a colorful and loved player. he was good for the tight end position and the pro game as a whole in my opinion. i really really cant believe he didnt make it. just cant understand. he absolutely has to make it next year or its gonna be seriously a bad deal for how this thing works. if he doesnt get in the 2010 class i just dont know how we can take the system seriously. what a player. what a shame.
Saw this coming!! As optimistic as I tried to be about Sharpe getting in, should’ve really known they ALWAYS underestimate the Broncos players. The system they have to pick who’ll make it is simply pathetic. Every frickin’ year there’s at least 1 Cowboy… just sickening.
All I can say is Canton is really and I mean REALLY missing out on some incredible talent by not putting through countless Bronco players. They’re missing out on some of the best players this game has ever seen. I shouldn’t even have to name names but I will just to get my frustration out… Gradishar, Sharpe, TD, Atwater, the entire Orange Crush defense Helloooooo!!!!!! Still miffed about this but that felt good.
With faith…
GO BRONCOS in ’09!!!!

Do us all a favor, Keep it clean and don’t belittle anyone, check your Grammar and spelling.
is it a conspiracy to NOT let orange/blue in Canton? TD+Sharpe have not been inducted yet. JOKE!!! That’s just wrong in sooo many levels. TD was the BEST in a span of 3 years. His #’s are comprable to Gale Sayers. SuperBowl+league MVP. Sharpe is the linchpin of TE for years to come. Is Ozzie Newsome in the Hall?! I bet Sharpe’s stats (I know it’s not all based on stats, but besides the records Sharpe has the rings) are way better than newsome. Everyone knows Gonzales will be a sure fire 1st ballot. I just don’t get it. What ’bout Rod Smith? Will he be snubbed too?! He’s the GREATEST free agent WR in the history of the NFL. Now that says something. I guess we have to wait another year….punches n bunches
I think the thing about Sharpe was he was not press friendly. He spoke his mind. Im not saying that I didnt enjoy watching him play, but man that guy was a riot. I used to laugh tell I cried. Not everyone liked his humor. He should be there along with a slew of others. Dennis Smith is the first to come to my mind. I mean that guy had like 9 pro bowls. Oh yeah he played in Denver. MY BAD!
Gosh, not one of you said a nice thing about the voters. I agree with you fans. Denver has always been the underdog. How many Bronco’s are in the Hall? right! How did our Elway get there? The Bronco’s are an awesome team. Shannon was a BIG part of that team! You are right!! Cowboys and Steelers……… my my. Maybe next year. We could try and fool the idiots and tell them Shannon was just shy of a Cowboy! why can’t fans vote? They are the money! We had some great players that are getting the shaft on ths Hall Of Fame thing!
Can we have a new topic please?
How about we evaluate the players and get an idea who Coach McDaniels will Keep, put up as trade bait, or just let go.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
who here thinks we need new safetys???? josh barret isn’t the answer. My top picks that we should draft
1. Colt Anderson-Montana-Tough as NAILZ!+smart. he’s a steal @ rd 5-7. could be the next version of Steve Foley (for all your “old timers”)
2. Patrick Chung-Oregon-Prob the best overall safety in the draft. great size+very aggressive. he’s a 2nd rd pick, but should we get a safety that early????
3. Louis Delma-Western MI-not that big, but very heady+physical. should be around in rd 3-4
4. Emanuel Cook-south carolina-bobby sanders clone??? I think so. in the box safety that can make plays
am I right or am i right??? punches n bunches
WE GOT TO KNOW WHO COACH MCDANIELS WILL KEEP BEFORE WE KNOW WHO TO DRAFT.
hope we keep champ here till he retires he will go down as top 5 cornerback ever to play the game give him the respect he deserves and let him retire here even if it means eventually being a number 2 cause he will be good enough to start till he retires no matter who you get doubt you find one better next to him to put him at number 2 just changing subject mono
15themarshall15, thats a good evaluation. what do you think of Nate Webster, or Niko Koutouvides. How about Patrick Ramsey what do you think He is worth as a back up? Come on guy’s and Gall let’s ask ourselves some tough questions here. Who will Coach McDaniels Keep on His TEAM before The Draft?

Excellent stats….that gives me some stuff to work w/…..who should we keep??? I think we should GUT most of the D….keep the base few:
DJ
Woodyard
Champ
Winborn
Dumervill
Engleberger
Ekuban
larsen
of course a few more, but besides these guys who really stepped up
mono to tell the truth i think nate webster is one of the most underratted linebackers in the league. he can lay a hit but was having problems wrapping up a lot of running backs in the nfl just take that big hit and keep going therefore nate webster will be leaving i wish him well in the final years of his career probably as a back up i would assume but i will miss his flying helmet none the less. niko was a horrible pick up i would say. special teams player in nfl at best we need to lose him. Larsen to me was our best middle linebacker i was wanting to see them try dj at strongside play larsen and woodyard at the end of season but it never happened.
2009 qbs jay cutler and darrell hackney ramsey is a free agent he wont play anywhere i doubt he plays again probably should just retire
rbs i like them all haha so should be tough to me first to go is hall tatum is gonna be a free agent, selvin can go too he has had his two years in denver like every runningback lol. terrell davis said that ryan torrain is the best running back on the roster and with prober training he could be a feature back in the nfl. aldridge is fast but i see nothing more then a returner really i dont care if some people like him he will never be the guy here so we move on to cory boyd i like what he did in college he has to get a chance p j pope did the best i dunno why we didnt run more that was our ultimate dimize shanny this was a running football team you want to make it a passing team. i wanna see an open comp. at training camp with about 10 running backs now that i would like to watch some good competition
wr is easy for the first 4 marshall number 1 royal number 2 stokely number 3 chad jackson number 4 d jack is probably going and we will get one other wr i would guess via free agency un less we are gonna use cliff russel
te all depends on how many mac wants to carry i cant tell you sheff and DG aint leaving nate jackson is good too but thats gonna be it i would guess we need that for depth at a more needed defensive position like cb so we dont have safeties trying to play corner ( marquand manuel)
offensive line is a lock all starters will stay backups is only spec and i can tell you one will be kory L.
DEFENSE IS WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HARDER ALL SPECULATION. So who will all stay? cause i dont even think they know yet
15themarshall15, nice job. I agree with most everything you posted. We need to sign a Free Agent QB.
My picks at RB include R Torain, T Bell, C Boyd, PJ Pope,S Young, A Haynes, M Pittman will be in His 12th season so we could use a little help there. A Hall and A Alridge haven’t impressed.
At FB I think we move P Hillis to RB, and S Larsen to LB, that only leaves A Pinnock who never even made it on the field, so we need help at FB BIG TIME!
The first four WR’s is easy, then what? D Jackson will be in His 10th yr. I don’t like C Russell and E Shepherd’s past injuries. I”m questioning M Willis’s abillity but He may bloom, and J Foster is young and small.
TE I got D Graham, N Jackson, C Mustard, Jeb Putzier, T Scheffler not in that order. The Broncos signed Adam Bergen at the end of the season, and M Leach is listed as a back up although He is our (ONLY) long snapper and will be in His 10th yr.we may need to look at that.
I gotta disagree with you on the O Line we may need some depth at the guard position and we need to make sure C Wiegmann stay’s. I know His Agent said He will return but I want conformation, I think I read they will have a meeting at the pro bowl I say SIGN HIM UP!
Here is my Offensive FA’s summary of needs, 1 QB, 2 RB’s, 2 true FB’s at least, maybe a WR or 2,1 TE, a Guard, and a longsnapper. actually not to bad on the Offensive side, I will need another post for the D. Infact I think I will break each position down.
