Sharing the Ball

November 13th, 2011 - 1:16pm by Stuart Zaas

Six Broncos have carried the ball in the first half for the Broncos, matching the most rushers in a game this year for the team. Against Green Bay, Eric Decker caught a wide receiver screen that was ruled to be thrown backwards, making it a rushing attempt in the official gamebook.

Tim Tebow, Willis McGahee, Knowshon Moreno, Lance Ball, Spencer Larsen and Eddie Royal have each run with the ball so far today. Larsen has three carries, which represent a career high for the fullback and Royal has two – one off his career mark.

McGahee started the game with four carries for 17 yards (4.2 avg.) before leaving with a hamstring injury. Moreno came in and carried four times for 52 yards (13.0 avg.) before leaving with a knee injury.

Since then, it’s been Ball seeing time as the featured back, with additional runs by Tebow, Larsen and Royal.

The sextet has been effective, combining for 162 yards on 26 carries (6.2 avg.) so far.
