As it stands now, assuming we are picking in the late 20s:

Round 1. DT – Either Jerel Worthy – Michigan State or Brandon Thompson – Clemson.

Worthy (6’3″ and 310 lbs) is a 3 year starter at DT for Michigan State. He is great in run defense and is pretty decent in pass defense. In 3 years, he has amassed a total of 102 tackles and 11.5 sacks. He is only a junior but all signs point to him declaring.

Thompson (6’2″ and 310 lbs) is 3 year starter but has played all 4 years as DT at Clemson. Excellent run stuffer, okay pass defense. In 4 years amassed 128 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

I think either would be an upgrade over McBean and Thomas and would be a good fit next to Bunkley.

Round 2 – RB. We need someone who compliments McGahee and can allow him plenty of rest and something that is an upgrade over Ball/Johnson. No Go Moreno is gone next year so we need something. A few options:

Chris Polk – Washington and David Wilson – Virginia Tech

Both backs are Juniors but that should not stop them from declaring. Both run in the 4.4s.

Polk was a three year starter at Washington rushing for 3902 yards on 769 attempts (5.07 yards per carry) He has the speed, agility, and vision and would be a perfect compliment to McGahee.

Wilson was a 1 year starter at VT but ran for whopping 6.1 yards per carry. He has speed and burst and fits the mold of Moreno but without the fragileness.

Round 3 we could go for a WR, TE, CB, S, backup QB…too many decisions but I think we really need to focus on DT in the first 2 rounds and a RB in the first 3.

Readers digest version story of my life. I’m 58 yrs young really started paying attention to Bronco football in 1972 lived in Rapid City SD most of my life except twenty years in Huron SD. Have been married for 38 years two kids now 35& 34 years old. My main interests outside the Broncos is motocross and most recently learning Spanish. Main dislikes mn. Vikings, thanks to living in vikingland for 20 yrs. Racism, religious intolerance, guess you could include the raiders and Phillips rivers in this category as well. BFE, I currently like who they have us picking. DT Brandon Thompson. Man is an animal. big boy. Definitely help in run support. Looks like the kinda guy that eats up blockers too. Probably the reason Bowers looked so good lol. We will see tho, come combine time, people will rise and wall like its nothing lol. TRB

BTW,they have us taking a DT from Clemson(forgot his name)in the 1st round anyway,lol.

I wouldn’t trade up for either CB,we need the picks worse,imo.

db,I think seweatherman said it is supposed to be sunny and 38 degrees in Buffalo for the game!

If i was the colts I would trade the first pick to Miami at pick 9, and get a next year first round pick with it and maybe a 2nd this year as well. And with the 9th pick draft trent richardson. Those guys have never had a real RB and its been hurting them. Right now they got the chiefs taking trent and thats scary thinking of Trent and Jamaal Charles. TRB
