Before appearing as a guest on the John Elway Show on 9NEWS KUSA-TV tonight, Head Coach John Fox met the Denver Broncos Quarterback Club, the official booster club of the Broncos.
The group has met every head coach in Broncos history, and tonight was the first meeting between the group and Fox.
On the show, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway said that while the team would hope for a better record, it likes its standing at the halfway point of the season.
“Being a game out, we’re excited to be in that position,” Elway said. “Yesterday was our best football game of the year. The guys played with a bunch of passion and we made a bunch of big plays, which you have to do, especially on the road.
“To beat the Raiders in the black hole was also a very nice feeling.”
Tomorrow — Tuesday — Elway will join Broncos TV’s Chris Hall for another ‘Elway Live’ show at 2 p.m. MDT on DenverBroncos.com. Elway will discuss the team’s 38-24 win in Oakland on the live, online-streamed audio broadcast. The show is 30 minutes long and features fan-submitted questions for Elway.
Questions are currently being taken via Twitter and will continue to be taken during the show. To submit your questions, tweet using the hashtag #ElwayLive.
After the show, the broadcast will be archived to DenverBroncos.com and will also be available as a podcast through iTunes.

TEBOW TIME!
Only way Tebow 100 percent secure his future is to pretty much win out the rest of the schedule … there by showing he can win and lowering our draft pick position which makes trading up for luck less likely unless we trade the farm, the inheritance, the organization, and 5 players lol. Point is the more TT wins / the broncos win … the better his chances. TRB
elway you won 4 games your first season and had a compleation percentage less then 50 percent. why are you wanting and expecting tebow to do better to keep his stsarting job,
Chef easy answer… I’ll take this one john… We now live in a passing league when he was a rookie they werent expected to be studs their first year. He was also the the number 1 overall pick… Today is all about progressing quick and Tebow was taken 25th by another regime,,, its all about having who you think willfive you the best chance to win. That could be Tim could be someone else,,, Thanks for the question Chef lol
Fox really blended into the crowd there… I kid, I kid… lol
BroncosLax, we have been rotating qbs since elway retired. Even plummer was benched for Cutler the year after going to the AFC Championships.
So, how do the broncos ever expect to find their QB if they keep on rotating in a new starter without enough time to evaluate their potential?
Besides a little O-Line depth, maybe a RB (altho I’ve read some of you boast about that kid Fannin and would like to see what he’s got), I want defense, defense, and more defense…
Another great question Alex… I willl again take this John lol… Plummer should have continued starting but John wasnt in the organization since channy shut him out. If he was he would have advised to stick with plummer he was the ultimate competitor and there are a lot of comparisons to be made between plummer and Tebow. But like I said Tebow wasnt an Elway pick If Tebow is a bust it is not Johns fault it is McD. But regardless John Wants his kind of guy at QB (Luck) but if Tebow proves he is a winner it will forc John to focus resources else where. Hope I could answer your question Alex… Thanks for listening
Lol LAX. Great responses.
Tsunami as I am speaking for John I will respond lol… We are high on Fannin he is currently on our IR and has a great blend of size and speed. He has ball control problems but we believe he will improve in this process and we want him to develop like Arian Foster a fellow undrafted RB. Defense will be our focus… Thanks for the input lol
Thanks sndvl… Thanks for Listening
LOL!!! Thx John…. Btw, anyone find it ironic that Elway was drafted by the Colts with the #1 pick and forced a trade to Denver…. And now the Colts most likely have the #1 pick and again the prize is a Stanford QB…..
Tsunami great point dont think I havent been In Andrews and his fathers ear about the very likely hood? He wants to be a Bronco. Thanks for listening!
What about Tebow?? I know you’re one his biggest supporters…….
Tebow is a great person and we love him in this organization. We are going to take it one game at a time with Tim and look for him to improve as a pocket passer
The recipe for success for us starts with Defense the QB position will be addressed whether the answer is on the Roster with Tim or Brady or of it with Andrew, Landry or Matt I cant be sure but we are focusing on winning games right now
As we are only one game back in the division, with another divisional matchup on the road.
(adding to your last post LAX)
To right you are sndvl sometimes i forget the little things
Former defensive head hunter Bill Romanowski was heard on a Phoenix radio station last week giving us a far more unique reason to give Tebow a break. Said Romanowski: “Tim Tebow, I can’t put him to sleep yet because he’s the only virgin in the NFL. OK? You can’t hate the guy. For the guys that try to hit him hard and talk smack and stuff, he just looks at them and says ‘God Bless You.’”
If you watched Sunday’s game, Romanowski has a point. No, not about Tebow’s chastity, but after his first TD pass Tebow immediately ran to the end zone to break up a brief scuffle — and looked like he was saying a few things to enrich the lives of some Raider defenders.
well like i been saying all along. we wont have a chance to draft luck because the team who has the #1 will draft him and it will not be us. so pick another qb. i prefer if we draft more d and a rb and give timmy 1 more year. tired of wasting draft picks on qbs.
Luck is no Lock. How many guys look great in college but never pan out? I can name a dozen off the top of my head. If Tebow gets us a winning record we keep him and draft defense, defense, defense, running back.
Thank you listeners for the input our plan is to put this team in the best position to win and we will lookat all posibilities in doing so. Thank you for listening
awesome win guys now lets do it again next week vs the chiefs and jump into 2nd place baby! blue n orange all day
Go Broncos!! Go Tebow!
If we can get a win against KC next week, I will be SO happy!

All the Bronco children finally went to bed looks like, I’m SO happy! LOL.
Royal proving what I have always thought about Tebow, is that his strength is that it’s all improv:
“I kind of noticed with a lot of quarterbacks, there are certain throws that he’s comfortable with and he’ll make, but with Tim, it’s almost like every route, even if it’s drawn up as a decoy route, it’s not a decoy route, because he’s going to look all over the field,” receiver Eddie Royal said. “He’s going to keep the play alive. So even if you’re the decoy on this play, you might end up as the main guy and end up catching a touchdown. Kind of like what happened to me.”
Kind of like don’t try to teach the kid or he’ll mess it up for you, not exactly a coach’s dream, but effective for the moment, the moment because that’s obviously a reckless way to live and every NFL player is only one hit from being done, something Elway is pondering now for sure regardles of the huge win Sunday. What kind of a gamble is he willing to take on a guy who is so reckless with his body at the most important position on the field, it’s like rolling the dice every down, tough way to run a football team. If indeed Tebow is unteachable as far as learning to play from the pocket, no matter how exciting he is Elway will keep looking at plan B in the 2012 draft and that would only make sense to me. Can’t put all your eggs in a crash derby car, gotta have a nice and clean vette too, just in case one too many crashes disables the derby car for good.
There is 1 thing that Dierdorf said Sunday during the game that I caught. First was that when he talked to Fox, Fox related to him that if they changed qb from Tebow, then Quinn would be the next man in.
I don’t know how much water this holds but I had a gut feeling that Tebow was and still is on a very short leash. A lot shorter than any other “normal” qb would be.
Hey Everyone………….Been away from the blog in what seems like forever………I didn’t even get to make my prediction……..but I woulda been way way off so it’s prob for the best! lol
bay………..nice to you back………looks like everything went okay. Hope you’re doing well. Nothing like a big broncos victory to lift the spirits, eh?
Not gonna say much about the game………..I’ve read a lot of the posts and no need to regurgatate it all again.
I will just say this though……..I was harsh on Tebow last week, for good reason mind you. And while there were still some major holes in his game this past week, I have to give him props for hanging in there and making the big plays when needed most. He actually looked more comfortable in the pocket, stepping up instead of automatically scrambling.
The key for his future success is not to be able to throw like Elway or Montana……..but at least be able to throw the ball accurately and keep defenses honest.
Hard to predict this upcoming game with the chiefs………….I have no idea which teams will show up on both sides.
I forgot, glad you are back with us in your good form Bay! I can tell you are feeling a lot better.
Lindsay Jones giving us a little perspective on how Tebow can be all over the map within a game:
Good: Tebow threw two touchdown passes, both on perfectly placed and timed passes to open receivers (Eric Decker and Eddie Royal) in the middle of the field.
Bad: Tebow struggled with his accuracy in the second quarter, particularly on the final drive, when he completed only 2-of-8 passes, and one of those completions went for negative yardage. Another poor throw on that series was nullified because of a holding penalty.
Ugly: Tebow was penalized three times for delay of game. Two of the penalties came on third downs to force long-yardage situations. The third was the most bizarre because the Broncos were in victory formation, with Tebow needing only to take a knee.
Growing pains, understandable, yet will drive coaches crazy. You win it’s all Tebow, you lose it’s all Tebow, and the way he plays it sadly makes a ton of sense, that guy can be so overwhelmingly good or so overwhelmingly bad, he will always take most of the praise or most of the blame, he is the Anti Manager of the game, the Anti Orton, and with that comes the scrutinity he is under. Maybe all that started with his college achievements and christianity devotion but I truly believe that from now on the way he plays the game will be mainly what he will be scrutinized about, and that’s only right, set college and christianity aside on Sundays and let your play on the field define you. I loved Sunday but I’m not the one who needs to be convinced, and strangely Fox isn’t even that guy, rather Elway with sidekick Xanders will clearly be the men in charge of Tebow’s destiny with the Broncos come draft time. Do I dear say it is what it is? Ok, it is what it is. The stage is yours Timmy, I’ll be watching every move, it will be the most exciting ball in a long time, and for that your contribution has already been greater than anyone since Plummer, fire in the hole!
Yeah, when they cut into your inners the first three days are the worse, the fourth gets better and by today the fifth it’s like life is worth living again, and I know you know what I mean weatherman, wishing you the best too.
it was awesome to see MacGahee essentially say, “KM, you can just sit your dancing a$$ down and ride the pine for the rest of the season. It’ll take a broken femur to keep me out!”
LOVED THE EFFORT!
I think KM played 1-2 series……..and looked horrible on them as usual. I have no doubt he’ll be cut at the end of the season.
If the Colts to draft Luck, he’ll get to learn from one of the greatest QBs. Can you imagine how “Lucky” he’ll be? C’mon it’s like having our young safeties learning from Dawk, or our young CBs learning from Champ.
The game has changed quite a bit from when Elway played but I’m sure he still understands defenses and things like that. But Tebow never had that great QB to learn from and it seems like Orton isn’t providing any support to him. When they showed Tebow looking at plays and discussing with McCoy, it was only Tebow and Quinn, how come Orton doesn’t step in and provide some support? I know, I know, why support a guy that took your starting job? That’s being a sour team mate if you ask me though. Anyway not making excuses but Tebow could use all the help he can get…even from Orton!
This is for the bloggers here who were all for wanting to hire Jim Mora for HC last Winter:
The problem for Mora is that Tebow’s 10-of-21 passing for 124 yards, even with two touchdowns and 118 rushing yards, just isn’t going to do the job long term.
“It’s a formula for beating bad teams is what it is,” Mora said Monday on “The Coaches Show Podcast”. “It’s a formula for being 5-11, 6-10, and maybe you get to 7-9, but for winning consistently and winning the big games in this league, no, it’s absolutely not a formula.”
Mora even went so far as to insinuate that Broncos coach John Fox feels the same.
“I think if you just look at John Fox in his postgame press conference, he certainly didn’t seem overjoyed and thrilled,” Mora said, “and they’ve won two of their last three games. But I think that John probably realizes that there are going to be limitations with a quarterback like Tim Tebow. You know he was great in college, and he’s a great kid, and we all love everything about him, expect for the fact that he can’t throw the football well enough to win consistently in the NFL.”
Kind of glad he isn’t the HC? LMAO! I always thought Mora junior was a worthless HC myself. And the weirdest part is he coached Michael Vick…
Brian, you must be a total Anti Tebow dude, Orton teaching Tebow!!!! Surest way of ruining the poor guy forever, LOL.
Teams switch up their gameplan week to week. Just because they run it one way this week it may be different next week. Did Fox ever say he was going to continue running the option read week in and week out…
C’mon those comments are rediculous..because we were sure winning consistently with Orton…Mora’s dumb!
BTW, a little mid season heads up on the season record prediction contest:
Current record 3-5
Multiply by 2 = 6-10, my prediction, me likey, LOL.
And yeah we now have our first official loser of the contest:
Broncfalls with a 12-4 prediction, better luck next year, everybody else is still in play though, 85 of them left.
Haha, yeah I guess we don’t need “monkey see, monkey do.”
With the 14th pick in this year’s nfl draft the Denver Broncos secect “_____________” ?!?!?!?
I’ve been wracking my brain watching film for weeks trying to find a DT that has the Skills we need to justify this spot, and I can’t pin one…
I really like the big DT from Temple #99, his name escapes me ATM but he is a candidate for this pick… If T. Richardson is still here I think it would be a mistake not to take him and put him next to Tebow… Our D-Line is soft in depth and talent, but I’d rather take a guy I ‘Know’ contributes at this spot than take a guy that ‘Might’ contribute…
If anyone has a name of a DT that you have your eye on, please share… I love to watch film!!!
*select
baylinorcrush, have I even scored a point this season?
Over all the descriptions of Tebow I have heard over the years this is the most accurate to me:
Tebow is a thrower of the ball, but not a passer of it.
Brian, 1 point, 6th game.
Would that make Moreno a “runner of the ball, but not a rusher of it?” LOL!
Oh yeah….100% better than last year! LOL!
Is anyone else sick of hearing about Tebow/Throwing/Blah….. He’s not Joe Montana, but in a year or two he will remind people alot of Steve Young… He is obviously struggling to stand still and throw, but on the move the guys natural ability shows through. Don’t try to make him what he’s not… The league rules are designed for high scoring/qaurterback driven games to increase ticket sales… If Tebow was playing in the 80′s there would be 10 teams beating down the broncos door to get him… He is a good football player, and a winner. He won’t ever consistantly throw for 300+ but he will put up W’s.
I enjoy Bronco Football again… and that is something I haven’t been able to say for a long long time!
All Hail VON TEBOW!!!
)
Broncos are like many wifes.
You don’t have to like them to love them.
How you feeling Bay?
wives, haha.
