The Broncos announced Friday that undrafted free agent linebacker Jeff Schweiger has been waived.
Schweiger joined the team on April 28th.
Schweiger saw time at defensive end in college, playing for San Jose State as a senior after competing for the University of Southern California during his first three collegiate seasons.

Nothing stagnant about this coaching staff!!!
Lets get the team narrowed down early so that our core gets some confidence in each other. I like it!
Hey Robert Ayers,
Bring the Orange Crush back to Mile High!!! (from Tenn.)
HomeTeam007, I agree. The staff is making their decisions quickly. I like that EVRYONE has to compete for a spot. The only ones I would say are safe is Champ, Dawkins, Moreno, Royal, Graham, Ayers, The O line (of course), Hillis, Goodman, Hill, DJ. The rest, well, you never know. Oh, and Orton and Simms.
did you guys read the news marshall is wanting a new contract he skipped voluntary passing camp
share your thoughts on this
Marshall has great skills but he’s got a little ocho cinco in his brain. he dropped a lot of passes last year. Maybe they can give him a new contract loaded with clauses that protect the team if he shoud get in trouble again?
Anytime a Denver Bronco is let go, it’s sad but part of the game and BIZ.
I used to get really mad at the guys that held out for a NEW contract, but after what happend to Javon Walker in GB, I say you have to get your money and secure your family’s future. To me my family’s financial security is #1, thats not to say I agree with how rookies are getting paid right now-that big money on draft day needs to go back to teh vets that have played-I agree there should be a rookie salary cap. I say get your money when you’ve proven you deserve it, if the owner pays up that means you earned it, if he don’t you have to go out on game day and perform. I do think the Bengals have showed everyone in the NFL the blueprint when dealing with an issue like this. Marshall will play with or without a NEW contract.
who????…lol
oh yea and i couldnt have said it better myself emaldo….you right on point
wait….did I just hear the Bmarsh is holding out? what “sources is this from?”
From what I know the “sources” are his agent and NFL.com
hey emaldo,
what your saying then is that you would not go to work if you think your boss is not paying you enough? o well, if marshall holds out i am sure there is someone who will take the passes he does not want.
Dr. Chris - I saw the Mr. Marshall issue first because of MHR, if you’ve heard of it.
http://www.milehighreport.com
It is awesome. They have the most well thought out, up to date, and well researched materials on the whole - compared to MSM (Main-Stream Media) regarding Our wondeful team… Not to say it’s flawless, but I digress…. MHR reported that this was originally reported and had a link to an article by Mike Klis of the Denver Post - http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12474188 -
So as far as I understand it, it is - at this point - nothing more than rumor….
And LOL Ruga that is likely what so many people (including myself) were thinking when they first saw this post…. But that is definitely awesome that they narrow it down as soon as they see how it is.
And THANK YOU for the update Mr. Eisendrath!
b-marsh needs to be thankful if Mac lets him play on this team. the man was thrown to a million times and only cought 100. The team will not know when he will ever get to play the first few games or not. if he wants to hold a gun to THE BRONCOS head like cutler did then he will fine out there are other wideouts on the roster. their timing with the QB will be better than his and they will be the ones with the 100 catches (go royal) at the end of the year. b-marsh must be pure stupid to think with a new coach, system, and all, that he could just walk up and START.

What about Marshall? He’s no guarantee?
Dynamicdave, you did name 16 out of 22. but i do see your point and am glad to see the coaches cutting players now so the best get more training.
I think rookie Kenny McKinney will be paid more than Marshall after he signs his contract. There something seriously wrong with the system when a player like Marshall who has had two 100+ reception season in three years deserves to have his contract extended and increased equal to the top 5 or so players. I also think the rookie cap should be implemented now rather than later who know when that will be. I also don’t like the suspension rule and in favor of a new rule where we use the “3 and your out” rule for life will make a difference in the long run. Also, the NFL needs to help the young players coming into the league it’s part of the problem drafting young kids into the NFL. Brandon Marshall I believe was only 21 when he was drafted. Regardless he needs some serious counseling.
203killinspree, no, I don’t think Marshall is a guarantee. He has a pending suspension and wanting more money. What if he holds out? Yes, he will get fined but he could be released and McD will eat the remainder of his contract. Oh, I forgot to mention Stokley is a keeper.
Nuggets are getting torched right now at the half.
Nuggets forgot to show up tonight.
Nuggets out to bad, oh and Denverpost are reporting the Marshall story as well. I read a story somewhere that the NFL was pending an investigation into the Marshall case, so he still could be suspended. I think he picked a bad time to holdout.
what is with these players b marsh is about to get his papers tot if he ain’t careful maybe he wants to be a bear or maybe a trade of Edwards and a pick or 2 man after the cutler deal one would think these guys would learn that Josh don’t play that!! Or maybe hes cot cook as an agent to ! anyway lets let him sit a sine Harrison to a 1 year deal. cause this hold out will get ugly hes not worth as much as he thinks he is ! And with the off the field stuff Jammie Dukes needs more ammo for His anti Josh rants but whatever show and work it out or hit the bricks I mean is he going to get commercials in any other city than Denver the kid needs a wake up call that’s how i see it! he would get his money if just one time he would take the high /mature rode?
Please,
Marshall don’t screw us. You need us more than we need you, believe me. If you’ll play, we’ll enjoy how successful you are but don’t hold a gun to the Broncos’ head. It will only turn out badly for you. Now that the Nuggets are gone, Go Magic or Cavs in the Finals against the Fakers.
I’m not saying Marshall will be traded but IF he is traded, how does this trade scenario sound.
Cleveland recieves:
1. Brandon Marshall
Denver recieves:
1. Braylon Edwards
2. 3rd or 4th round pick depending on how Marshall performs.
Braylon Edwards can’t catch a cold lately. I hope B-Marsh isn’t stupid and comes to camp. He will get rewarded if he produces and puts the team first. Look how the Broncos took care of Rod Smith and he always put the team first. These young guys need to find out what a real player is by talking to that guy. He was a #1 class act. Holding out isn’t the answer with a new coach and a new scheme. You need to be in camp learning it and proving you belong there. We’ve already seen how coach handles me first players. I understand about getting your financials secure but please don’t be a distraction. there are other ways to do this.
IF a trade were to happen I wouldn’t mind seeing Anquan Boldin in a Denver Uniform. I would hate to see B-Marsh go though, he has the potential to be one of the all time Bronco’s Greats.
Everyone mad at B Marsh for holding out. I’m not! When a kid like Quinn is drafted as a blocking TE. He will be make 3times what Marshall will be making now. That’s sad really! Marshall won’t be getting Larry type money. He does deserve something like 5mil a yr.
Greatness007 silly statemant bro. Marsh is silly for holding out its his contract year. he should be everything possible to impress his coaches. so he can get that big contract come next offseason. so yea a couple unproven rookies are gonna be makin a lil more scratch than Bmarsh for now. but come next offseason if he does it big this season he’ll be makin way more than 5 mill. a year ~
Later dudes
Greatness007 my apologies. it has come to my attention tht i too have made a silly statement. lol i think tht marsh does have the right and privilage to want a new contract. i think he has done more than prove him self over the past 2 years. nd i think a new contract is long overdue. i think Xanders nd Mcdaniels need to put their thinkin caps on nd realize tht if that dont sign him to a hefty contract now. he could easily leave wen his contract is up nd go to a team like> say THE BEARS!!! but these are only volutary so we’ll see wut happens
He just had surgery on his hip so he stayed in Fl and rehabed.
This is getting blown out of proportion like the NFL network always does they don’t have much to talk about beside the same old favre story’s and are looking to get a buzz going. He will be back when he has to and will be paid after all his legal stuff is taken care of. Till then I am not getting my panties all in a bunch over here say .
Why does everyone think that B Marshall is holdin out. NFL.com says he is rehabin in Orlando and his agent says he is NOT holdin out. His agent is NOT Bus Cook. I’d say lets give it some time before we make this into the next McJaygate. At least B Marshall is not runnin around cryin to the media.
I know he is in FL rehabbing. It is a statement to do it there rather than Dove Valley. Where the other players are rehabbing.
No problem McDanielsDomain we all have a right to express our opinions.
lets trade for Anquan Boldin!!!
I read a lot for Brandon Marshall too hold out for more money on the blog. I for one say, earn your money. He did that last year and got paid $2.2 million. I wish every player was on a merit system.
Brandon has had two good seasons of football and two bad seasons of off field criminal issues.
So if the pay big money for him then he is stupid again and gets suspended, where is the value in your money.
Brandon should come to camp ready to play, excel in the early games and then you may see an extention (incentive heavy I hope).
If Brandon does hold out, I beleive his contract base is $495 thousand so they could let him sit. BUT the McDaniels ERA does not work that way and a trade would be forth coming real quick.
Sitting here in Vegas and looking at the Bronco change of 2009, I can not see Brandon affecting it that much.
Offense is a spread so very good route runners are important. Brandon is not one. Royal, Stokley, McKinley and Swift are. Oh I forgot Gaffney.
lol Marshall Got 500,000 last yr with 650,000 in incentives. I might need to go school is that equals 2.2 mil.
Hey Dan, whats up? Look forwrd to seeing you at the Broncos bar this season. I didn’t even put it together till just now that it was you. Different handle. DOH! Anyways, yeah, Gaffney is top notch. He tore it up as a Patriot. McKinley should have a very decent rookie season. Stokley is a precision route runner. Royal, as a rookie was ahead of the others as far as learning curbs are concerned. he was a stup on the field. He’ll be even better this year. Marshall just picks the wrong time to be asking for “mo money.” Hip surgery, possible suspension. What does Keyshawn Johnson say? “Come on man!.”
ok people calm down. People are just thinking way to much into this. Yes brandon is upset and wants a contract extension but hes just rehabing in Orlando or w.e his home is, insted of with the team until thing get cleared up. He wouldnt be able to practice any way.
marshall might play his last year for denver on the suspended list…all year long….i heard its 12 police reports of violence….its on ESPN.com right now..marshall interview…its very worrysum.
Dynamicdave, your absolutly right Brandon will be just fine and I don’t see him as being upset or holding out for more money. He just wants an extension of the current contract. Nothing new, and He deserves it. The media once again just needs something to blow out of proportion and create controversy.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
Brandon Marshal should restructure his deal for this year to be based on incentives. If he has a great year (Touchdowns, Catches, yardage) Then reward him, if not then he can receive his same based salary. They really want to see how he does this year, before they commit to him long term.
Yeah, I’ve said that. Nothing on the media, so if a fly gets in the room, they show like it’s Godzilla.
Anyway, BMarsh is a good player. He’s a big part of what Jay Cutler become. But it is the other way, too. So I think he must be considering that he don’t have Jay’s preference anymore this year. New QBs, new coaches, new play schemes with an obviously upgraded running game might mean that there will be a down in his plays (and more if he get a suspension), and with that… less “star numbers” to show for a new juicy contract next year.
I said might because we all know about Randy Moss in this schemes and it’d be awesome to have a player like that in the Broncos, but I think BMarsh isn’t pretty sure that he will be “the Randy Moss” here. So, now that he still has his numbers and Pro bowl status, may be the time to talk about contracts and so, no matter off-the-field issues and hip surgery.
Go Broncooos!
And on a more posative note did anyone see this article?
http://cbs4denver.com/broncos/broncos.sheffler.tight.2.1024241.html
I’m glad to see Tony is on board after hearing all the rumors.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
Or how about this dumb ass.
Former Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf has been indicted by a Randall (Texas) County grand jury on drug and burglary charges. Leaf is suspected of breaking into an apartment Oct. 30 and stealing the painkiller Hydrocodone.
That’s so sad.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
monodono, You are right Marshall is not being greedy or anything, He has had two great seasons, and just wants an extension. he should also get a raise from how he has played. He will be payed $2.2 million in 2009 where moss is making around $9 Million. Shouldn’t Marshall be making 4 or 5 million a year. He is one of the best young wideouts in the league.
that is worse then sad.
well Leaf has never been the brightest or most controlled but wow can afford his own script that’s not sad its pathetic! any way are you really comparing Marshall to moss did moss drop that many last year or have so few TDs hes good not great and may never be great if he cant get his head straight. If you aren’t sure he is going to play and with the outside the lines interview sun that really turned the public eye on the team and the commish yet again if he gets his offer right now he really wont like what it says and the numbers will be vastly lower than if he performs well this year and keeps his nose clean and resigns after, so kinda a no brainier Ide sine him low end right now if you could ! unless.. obviously hes not the sharpest tool in the drawer and might not be able to pu the new scheme then if that’s the case maybe we need to get what we can and walk away now and get someone with maybe less problems and a bit smarter and mature that will stop embarsing the team and the fans?
Whatever happens with marshall/terrel owens. We have Eddie Royal who has more than proven himself and will step up if needed.
Marshall says the reason he dropped all those passes last yr was because of the Nerve damage in his arm. When he put it threw a TV. Might be right on with that one. Nerves in the arm does lead to the hands.
