On Wednesday Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced that Tony Scheffler and Selvin Young will be out against Jacksonville.
Scheffler and Young each suffered left groin strains in the Broncos 16-13 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Eddie Royal, who suffered an ankle sprain against the Buccaneers, should not miss much practice time with his injury and could be available on Sunday.
According to Shanahan both Young and Scheffler should be ready for the team’s Monday Night Football game against New England in two weeks.
Royal and Ebenezer Ekuban were not scheduled to participate in drills on Wednesday but should practice on Thursday. According to Shanahan both players are probable for Jacksonville.

yezzir great news
ROYAL is a rookie monster on roids of coarse he will be back and with bmarsh double covered he will go off.
SHEFF and YOUNG are great players but can both be replaced for one week.
PITMANN time to shine you old man.
MUCH LOVE GOOD LUCK BRONX
5-1
34-31

we should be good…We have good te’s and hall and pittman will do a good job filling in for young….Im just glad we have Royal…that will be a huge help! go Broncos! 34-21….+
glad royal is good to go. scheffler is good but i think nate jax should be good enough. young well doesnt matter who you put in the backfield im jus glad royal will prolly be back
This seems a bit concerning to me, especially at the tight end position. Daniel Graham is more of a blocking TE than a receiving one, and Tony has had some good yardage this year. I think Andre Hall and Michael Pittman can handle the load while Young is out. We will still have B Marsh, Royal and our phenomenal O-Line, so I’m confident that we’ll be 5-1 after this week.
im just worried how royal will be. wut percent his ankle is gonna be by sunday. scheffler is a big loss but shanny keeps lettin nate jackson on the team so he must liek him. hopefully nate can do enough for us to get the win. and if darrell jackson is back that is just 1 more weapon to have.
More touches for Stokes I guess. Not too worried about the offense, it is the Defense that needs to step it up.
We’ll be fine. Graham is great TE. Great blocker and great catcher. Jackson doesn’t have great hands though. Lets Go Broncos!!!!!!!!!! 41-13……….BRONCOS.
four letters
Uh-Oh
These are two great players on the Broncos but I think that they can pull it off with Andre Hall and Daniel Graham.
27-20
Broncs
Glad to hear Scheffler and Young will only miss this game. Cutler and Scheff have a great rapport, and are exciting to watch when they connect on the field. Hope Scheff and Young have a speedy recovery. Pittman showed his toughness as he ran hard last Sunday.
We’ll be fine, Pittman will step it up and we have various other offensive weapons to accomidate the 1 week injury losses and get us back on the 40 points per week we had going. At least they should be back for NE next Monday night and we need the defense to get some more work in before we go there. Defensive improvment is the key before the bye IMHO. Once the defense is consistent, watch out, we’ll be the best in the league. GO BRONCOS!!!
38-14 Broncos
Im disappointed to see Scheffler out for this game. He is a key for our explosive offense. Im not concerned about Young being out. All year long I’ve though that Pittman has played better and I think is deserving of the starting role. So show jacksonville your explosive game on sunday Pitt.
Hopefully Royal can play, but I would hate to see him get injured in any way. He better not take any punt returns this weekend. Let Martinez handle those for a while. Also, I feel that if we are in a comfortable lead, we need to let royal rest and give more touches to Stokley and Jackson if he is available. The smartest thing for us to do right now is prevent any possible injury to our young star reciever.
Thank god Royal might still play I was scared we’d have D- jack as the second WR. To about about Royal and Scheffler we should be fine without Young but Scheffler I don’t know
Like I’ve said, Royal’s a tough kid, but get him out of the punt returns already. Starting wide outs have been hard enough to come by in Denver over the years, don’t risk a star on the rise. I’d say Stokley is going ot get plenty of looks this weekend. 3 wideout sets would have probably been the norm anyway, with a healthy Tony or not. Jacksonville doesn’t have a great pass rush and Marshall may abuse their corners.
Shef and Young will be missed. However, ol’ Shanny has lots of other weapons in his arsenal playbook. Bronc roll to 5-1 with a big win. 35-17!
I agree that the deffense still needs more work and this week will be a good test with J-ville’s dual threat running with Taylor and Jones-Drew, and their big wr’s. We have Stoke and other guys who can handle the load if Royal can’t go. Ankle injuries are some very tricky injuries and I just hope Royal and the Bronco staff use good judgement. We need him for the long haul and stretch run. Not a game here and a game there.
I agree with bronc fan in WA……. Royal shouldn’t be allowed to touch another punt or even spell punt return on a chalk board! As long as our deffense play like they played last week we will be ok and everything will fall into place despite the injuries we have.
what about torain his he goin to play this week
No sweat fellas, everyone should be healthy for the up coming Monday Night game. In the meantime we’ve got plenty of depth at WR, TE, and RB. I’d like to see Darrell Jackson in for Royal, but Glen Martinez isn’t too bad either, he can be a deep threat with those wheels. Daniel Graham, Nate Jackson are good TEs and they just brought Chad Mustard back. Hall is a strong runner and Pittman is the Incredible Hulk. Any guy that wants to cream someone on every carry is alright with me! Balance the run/pass and fire it up on defense and will come out 5-1.
it not that much of a big deal that our best offensive players Tony Scheffler and Selvin Young are out those are great offensive players but we have TE Daniel Graham hes ok but he had dropped a lot of balls during the season. RB Selvin Young will be replaced by Andre 2000 aka Andre Hall lol, Broncos will win this one trust me.
Outcome (2-4)Jacksonville 24 to (5-1)Denver 37.
Hey the team will be fine Scheff and young will be missed. Our TE are really good blockers and hard workers on the field. Glad to hear that Royal will be ok. but I was not worried to much because Stokely feels in nicely, what a game last week. I’m not into making prediction but it should be a great game to see GO BRONCOS
Glad to see Mustard Back…He looked good the last game of preseason. I had hoped he made the final roster. He will be a good addition to the team again. I just wish you the best. Let’s kick the Jags outta town.
Godfather’s Pizza Man
The key to this game as far as the offense goes is that the main ingredient is healthy, the offensive line. These guys have been awesome and few have played as well as they have so far this season.
I think the defense probably liked hearing people talking good about them. Things are starting to click. I think the will continue to play better as the season progresses. I hear Shanny is talking about playing j. Moss as an outside linebacker. I bet he would do well there in the 3-4 with his speed. Hope that works for him, he has talent , just have to find the right fit for him.
Glad to hear they indicted someone for the murder of D. Williams, time for justice to be done.
Go Broncos!
I’m just a worrier, and with Selvin and Scheff out, I have some concerns. Nevertheless, thank heaven that we’ve got lots of quality depth at key positions offensively. The offensive line is intact, as is Jay, so that’s positive. I think the Broncos’ high-scoring offense resumes in its magnificence because the Jaguars’ pass defense is porous. Roethlisberger was banged up last week, but still exceeded 300 yards against the Jags. Imagine what a healthy Jay Cutler can do! Come on defense, step your game up once again and give Garrard a blue mushroom cloud to face all day. 38-19, Broncos. (The Jaguars only get 19 because they fall into a big hole, and misfire on a 2-point conversion attempt.)
Not a problem and here’s why:
1. The depth chart on both TE & RB’s is to deep to effect one game.
2. Tony had some nice catches for gains Sunday, HOWEVER, I look for the big adjustment this week to be on 3rd down conversions. We missed 8 3rd and shorts that were 4 yards or less. Those keep the drives going. and points on the board. Shanny spoke a ton about it.
3. I bet we see the same game plan as last week. QB manages a great game. Points go on the board because we converted better on 3rd downs.
27 - 17 BRONCS
GO GET EM BOYS!
Hey luigi,
Torrain is scheduled to return after the bye week. Which I believe would be week 9.
