Just a quick note:
The NFL has announced that the 2010 schedule will be released on Tuesday, April 20, at 5 p.m. MDT.
At that time, we will immediately post the schedule on DenverBroncos.com, including notes about the overall slate and quick hits about each matchup.

It’s now clear that some players didn’t think Marshall was a team player, if you listen to Daniel Graham:
“I wish Brandon Marshall the best of luck wherever he goes,” team captain Daniel Graham said. “I’m just looking forward to this team, what we’re going to do in the future.”
“We have to come together as a team,” he continued. “That’s the only way you can win the Super Bowl, as a team. Not one person in particular. It’s going to be a great team effort.”
BFE my thinking is the same in that we may not need to get the first Center in the draft
Amen to that. I do want to win a SB.
Doom has proven he deserves the big fat contract,Orton, well we don’t know if he will even be with us after this season.McD might wait on Orton’s contract till next year if he decides to keep him,I think it all hinges on how good Brady Quinn can be.Just one man’s opinion that don’t mean a Helluva lot.
How does Graham become a team captain in his 1st year, when he didn’t even do that much???because he was with McD at NE???
Here’s a GREAT BIG Orange and Blue AMEN to the Super Bowl!!!!
We need to sanctify that idea with a good old baptism in Rocky Mountain Spring Water…lol
Team captains are voted by the players, HC’s have nothing to do with it.
I believe Daniel Graham was a team captian when Shanny was here…
He is probably the best blocker on the team..
BFE, I think the anger over Marshall is blinding your mind, Graham was brought over here by Shanny, he is not a one year man, just saying.
Terry Bradshaw must still carry a TON of weight with the Steelers if they are going to get rid of Ben??
They seem to pe purging troubled tallent just like the Broncs…
Yeah, a lot of similarities between the two teams, two high class organizations who won’t put up with crap, REFRESHING.
Well this is just great. If I were any of you, I wouldn’t get too attached to Elvis Dumervil, or Ryan Clady, because now that they have proven themselves as pro-bowlers they will no longer be Broncos.
You dont’ build a championship team by trading away all of our eilite players. It’s just rediculous.
I was pretty pissed off about this all too at first this morning. However, my friend told me something pretty interesting today during clas…He told me that rumors that have circulating that Marshall was one of the main contributers to that bs fight back a few years ago during the darrent williams mess…It was said the gangs wanted to shoot him mainly;….And also this whole fiasco with the wanting to be traded and antics happened around they caught those people and made the whole court date…Weird? Also Marshall has bee straying away from going on the stand for the murder trial..
Lets think about this, if marshall is scared about his life and his fiance, wouldnt he want to pull a javon walker too? If i was scared for my life and my families i wouldnt want to be around…SO, just a little info i thought i might wana put out there..Because if thats true, im not so angry, and its not like he can come out and say that, so maybe mcdaniels and bowlen knew this..Cuz didnt bowlen promise if he had a good year he would get a “substantial pay raise”
Im not sure myself what to think about this, and im more twoards he is in it all for the money, and now since he is the highest paid reciever in NFL history, it makes sense.
Your friend must of read one of my numerous posts here, LOL, the Marshall wanting to get away from Denver gangs is something I have been putting forth here multiple times since the Williams murder trial for whoever cared to read it.
In fact, this is part of what I posted at 7:56 am this morning on the previous blog:
Just so we all are clear on where I always stood in this matter: Marshall wanted out of Denver, and McD obliged him, and nicely, sending him back to where he went to college, back to where his background is, in South Florida. Point is no one should have any ill feelings towards McD, just compassion for Marshall who ran into an impasse in Denver caused largely in part due to his off the field attitude which at some point helped escalate a fight with a gang in Denver ending in the death of one of his teammate. Everyone knows I always thought he needed to get away from the Denver gangs as far as he could, guess what, he couldn’t of moved to a team anywhere in the US that is geographically located any further than Miami is from Denver. Please don’t hold it against me for seeing it as it was, I have been on this rodeo called life long enough to know when things don’t jive. Fooling myself about the inevitable is something I just don’t allow myself to do, regardless of how painfully immense the outcome may be.
Anyway, I’m tired of repeating myself over the Marshall matter, I spoke my peace all day, the evening bloggers are about to come out, and it will get heated is my guess just like it did midday earlier, with a few bloggers who got censored, so watch your language but speak out your peace, whatever that maybe, it’s therapeutic and I’ll be back after the storm, LOL. This has been a huge day for the Bronco organization, no matter what side you take.
I don’t buy that whole gang threat analogy. If they wanted him dead that badly, it would have happened already.
It’s definitely bogus if you ask me, two years, two pro-bowlers gone. I never really liked Cutler anyway so that one wasn’t as hard to accept. But wacth out next year, its gonna be either Dumervil gone or Clady gone, cuz McD doesnt seem to care too much for the pro-bowlers. He would rather have a team of mediocre players rather than a team mixed with EXCEPTIONAL talent.
Must’ve been thinking about Gaffney???? I knew Graham was here before McD,don’t know what I was thinking, damn it’s been a long day.
It’s a shame a man can’t give his opinion without some idiot calling out his Momma.
eternalblueandorange: I didn’t say anything that deserved what you did to me,and I don’t apreciate you talking about my mom,she has cancer, too bad I can’t reach you or I would teach you some manners, you went too far.
uuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BFE….I agree, that’s just down right disrespectful. He is just as bad as theroyalbroncos, the other night. they both should be banned from this blog.
Am I the only one who sees our glaring need at tight end now? Graham dropped more easy catches than balls he actually caught, Quinn is unproven at best. Look at every playoff team last year and the significance of their tight end.
We are going into this draft now not only with big needs at positions they are soft at but now needs at positions they had talent in, ILB WR and TE were all solid. Now the needed positions have doubled. A team full of rookies go nowhere. Just ask the teams who consistantly use rookies as starters.
I’m really glad that this trade went down. You’re not the only one, bay. LOL
And for those of you who say Doom and Clady are next, it’s not that McDaniels trades Pro-Bowlers. He trades people who have off the field problems a lot (Marshall) or who get all whinny when a trade rumor comes up. (Cutler) I’m not sure about Hillis, but I’m glad we got what we did for him. Doom and Clady are here to stay, unless they pull a Cutler.
I wouldn’t say it was Marshall and Cutler’s off the field issues that got under McD’s skin because under McDaniels neither of them went THAT far over board. I think it is more of a younger generation thing to be honest. Marshall and Cutler are part of a generation where speaking out against authority seems to be a common and acceptable thing. Quiet guys like Clady and Dumvervil don’t seem to present that sort of characteristic in my eyes.
Funny how Big Ben in Pitt can do whatever he pleases and act like a fool in clubs and Cutler becomes unhappy that his name is brought up in a trade and is sent packing. Ochocinco had demanded trades left and right in Cincy, Randy Moss takes plays off in NE, and Marshall gets the boot.
I’ve said my peace about the situation and like I said earlier, if McDaniels goes after another 3rd string tight end pick with his 2nd round pick that we got, I’ll be furious. Still optomistic though I promise… send me Pouncey, Benn, Major Wright, and Shipley in the later rounds and I’ll be a happy man
Oh by the way baylorlin… Marshall has been quoted numerous times this offseason that he was willing to work it out with the Broncos so I don’t neccessairly think that McD obliged him. All we can go by is what is said from the Marshall and McDaniels camps so maybe Marshall was just saying the right things to prove he can change and get a big contract on his new team. That’s just speculating though
I really hope that we get Pouncey, Shipley would be a good addition, and we should also try and get McClain/Williams with #11. (In this scenario, we trade a 2nd and another later pick to get another 1st to get Pouncey) that would be a great draft.
If McDaniels will draft a blocking TE in the second round and use a 1st round pick on a Nickelback he’s capable of anything so I wouldn’t be surprised if he took Pouncey.
what do you guys think it would take to get Nnamdi Asomugha?
McClain could possibly be only a two down kind of guy in our defensive scheme so I don’t think we’ll take him at 11, also Williams would more then likely be 2nd string his first year so I doubt we’ll waste a first on a guy who will be on the bench. So it’s either Des Bryant(DO NOT WANT) or Pouncey(SORTA WANT)
For Asomugha more then likely draft picks, probably not a first, but at least a 2nd and possibly another high pick in the same draft or next years. Right now the Raiders have so many holes and I know Asomugha not happy with being a Raider(who would be?) last I heard he was interested in being a Jet. So if the Jets haven’t made the news at least negotiating trade talks for Asomugha then I doubt the Raiders will give him up.
WTF are we doing in Denver
It hurts but it is what it is. Especially if like many had said, he feared for his safety in denver and just everything overall. Just wish we got more value for him. At least he gets his contract and gets to go back to Florida. Best of luck to him.
If I were to guess, I would say that we dont take Dez Bryant. If McD is not a fan of Diva WRs that is. (even tho most of them are) I would guess if we are looking for a big Target he will go with Demaryious Thomas. Or if we are lucky we can draft Another Marshall in the 4th round. (doubtful lol)
Our Aerial attack is gonna be pretty bad. Thats darn near a gaurantee. All I hope is that our Ground game is number 1 cuz I dont know how else we are gonna win games. Brees and Brady won SBs without super WRs but they are also gods at the QB position. We unfortunately don’t have a god as our QB so we will need all the help we can get. Hope McDaniels knows what he is doing, cuz everyone else is either shocked or just believing he has some kind of genius plan.
McD drafting Pouncey would be a positive in my eyes not like the Richard Quinn pick (passing up Malauga in the 2nd round by the way). But only if we trade back because Pouncey is not worth the number 11 pick… maybe the 20-25 range instead.
If we don’t get Shipley I’d like Decker from Minnesota… both are guys who were consistent and put up great numbers. Neither are likely to be a number 1 wideout but a 2 or slot reciever would be nice
Unfortunately all we have are slot recievers HOF
Royal is slot and maybe 2. Stokely is slot. Wouldnt exactly call Gaf 1 but he has potential. Mckinley is definitely slot. so, a clear number 1 is needed. But then again, Desean jackson isnt the biggest and he has become the clear number one in Philadelphia so anything is possible.
TRB have you changed your name or is that someone else
TRB…I agree 100% If we are to go far this year Orton will have to be a lot sharper passing the ball and our WR’s will have to step it up big time, one good thing is we’ll probably have a lot better Defense,so we might not have to score a whole lotta points.
The Big Tuna had better sign a $100K a year baby sitter for Marsh in Miami…. The Denver area is a heaven compared to gang infested Miami.
Thats like putting him right into trouble town if you ask me, Miami is taking a huge gamble. idk?
TRB, cool new name if that’s you? You could just change it to “TRB”.?
OC a lot of teams don’t care about off the field issues,as long as they play good on the field, look at Dallas and the players they’ve had,and they are the most popular team in the NFL.Makes no sense to me.
Agreed, between Royal and Benn we need to develop one of them as a number 1 wideout. With what we have all we have are slots but Stokely is getting older and could use a replacement.
BFE, I think it comes down to what kind of guy the owner is…
Drunken Jerry Jones would get tanked and tell his coach (Tuna) to sign TO and a babysitter/bouncer to keep him out of trouble, While other owners would sign Tim Tebow in the 2nd round just because they love his total good boy aura that attracts many fans and not ever having to worrie of him putting the team in a negative light.
Even Orton is known for some wild times in Chicago… If you type “Kyle O” in the Yahoo browser, the fourth item on the search assist is “Kyle Orton Drunk”. Let me tell you, it aint pretty… It makes you wonder how well Orton’s “face of the franchise” is percieved by Mr. B?
I think It’s a lot harder to get in trouble in Denver than Miami or Chicago though… But you can never erase the past.. that much is certain. And there is a lot of value weighted on your public persona when it comes to being a pro athlete and representing a team…..jomho
So everyone who likes this trade gets along with alllll there coworkers?? huh??? I doubt it…..and what do u do in this situation??? If he is a performer???fire the guy??? rat him out to the bosses?? no u come to work and ignore him!! and do ur job….why?? because at the work place this guy does his job!!! And if u think the other broncos feel any differently, then ur sadly mistakin…..the only thing they care about….and me for that matter is that he did his job on SUN! every sun!!….he helped the team win ballgames that’s all that matters…..so all u self-serving never do anything wrong types out there…cant wait to u see how u feel about this when our beloved team is 4-12 wit no passin game to speak of cause we only have slot’s and 3rd down receivers now…..but there “Good character guys”….cant wait
Ok guys…who or what do we get for Scheffler? I’m thinking a 3rd.
three prowbowlers from the 06 draft……..only one more to get rid of I guess…..franchise QB and francise receiver….wonder who drafted them?????
Marshis, OC
yea its me. Yea, I was just gonna change it to TRB…but then I would look like FTR lol. So i added a lil extra.
I personally think Marshall has changed. Think he matured alot here. And i think Miami just benefited from all our hard work on him. But only time will tell. I agree Miami is more gang infested and a place where football players get in alot of trouble (like Atlanta lol)…But he went to school in miami and even though e was bron in Pitsburgh i think he mostly grew up in Florida so im sure he is happy to be back. Plus his best friend Mike Simms Walker is a Jacksonville Jag, so now they are in the same state. This is all good from a Marshall stand point. But from an Organization standpoint, its like regressing back to a comfort zone of shinnanigans, but once again, only time will tell lol.
this marshall deal has my super anxious about the draft, I believe this may be one of the most influential drafts for our team in recent years. Every pick counts so let get em. We need a LB, most likely a big target reciever AND a slot reciever like Shipley, a center, a DB, and another DE, and a TE.
gardenstatebroncofan: I’d hardly call Cutler a franchise QB and I’ve never heard of a franchise WR. Lest we forget Cutler slit his own wrists by not answering Mr. Bowlen’s phone calls.
Look, this whole situations stinks all around. However now that it is over we can start figuring out what we (the Broncos) are going to be doing this offseasona and where we want to go this upcoming season. I for one would just like to be on top of the division. Bustin’ up some Chargers twice in a season is one of my top hopes. Playoffs..sure I’d love to make it to the playoffs but that starts with beating divisional opponents. Marshall is gone and we have to move on. He’ll do fine in Miami I’m sure of that. It will be interesting what Miami signs him for.
Remember last season when we traded Cutler and everyone thought we wouldn’t win three games. Then we went 6-0 and and wow and then we went 2-8 and they said numurous reason why we didn’t win games late in the season. I never once saw anyone (experts) say we didn’t win games because we traded Cutler. Same will go for Marshall, if we suck it up again this year, it won’t be because of trading Marshall.
At least we’re stockpiled in the first 2 rounds.
Brian, this guy on Shefter twitter kind of reinforces your point:
RT @Andy_Fenelon: Not sure of significance, but sure interesting: In 8 Broncos victories last season, Marshall failed to surpass 100 yards.
That would be every single victory, not sure how many times if any he went over 100 yds last year though, will try to check it out.
Marshall had three games over 100 yds receiving last year, ALL LOSSES, 112 against Pittsburgh, 134 against Washington and 200 against the Colts. Case in point a single receiver cannot win you a game, hence they are no such thing as a franchise receiver. Most important stat about both Cutler and Marshall is ZERO playoff game, much less a win.
Thanks for the info, bay. I also like the little bit about how neither Cutler or Marshall didn’t even make the playoffs. I think we will be just fine without Marshall. It will be a little harder, but we will be alright for this season.
