Before I say this, I want to be clear about something. I like both Cutler and Marshall. Hate to see both go! but, I understand….
Here’s my question. Why do some people refuse to look at what a player like Marshall does to a team? Is Marshall talented? maybe one of the best, but at what cost?
Did we forget that this guy is 1 miss hap away from an 8 game suspension! Then what would it be? Still talented? Maybe one of the best! But not when he’s on the side lines!
Look, all I’m saying I guess is there is no arguing this kid can flat out play! But nobody knows how long or short that fuse is! Has he changed? We don’t know! I thought so until the rehab incident last year towards the end of the season!
Lastly, I have said this for quite some time. You have got to put a lot of wieght behind what veteran players have to say. What about Champ, Doom, BDawk, and yes even Grahm! There was clearly a problem there last year and it has been documented that THEY WANTED BOTH HIM AND SHEFFLER HELD ACCOUNTABLE! What does that say for the temperature check of the locker room? Do you not think that these same players know Marshall can play? sure they do! But not at the expense of what they are trying to accomplish as a team.
Look at it this way, BDawk and Champ are on their last tour. They won’t be around for another 10 years! They want a championship and they want it now! Knowing the firepower that Marshall can bring “when he plays” was not enough for them both to say “Coach take care of it!”
Brandon, I wish you the best and loved watching you play in a Denver uniform.

im am a broncos and marshall fan marshall is my fav nfl player but the broncos is my fav team so im happy for both but am mad that mcd is getting to get rid of all our good player soon doom will be traded then i really will be mad
Well said Broncfalls. I don’t know how old you are, but if you are young, you are wise beyond your years. It seems like in general, the older people on this site are basically of the same opinion that you just stated above. Whatever your opinion of BM is (was) it is now time to move on anyway, which is the subject of the next blog by Mike Rice. There are still a lot of pissed off people out there, and there will be for quite some time. Hell, a lot of people are still pissed over Cutler. It takes some longer than others to get over it i guess. To each his own. I for one have already moved on.

Thanks for the compliment. I am a little bit older. I’m 34 and live in Illinois, so the Cutler was a raw, meaty deal when it went down because of the Bears. It was very much in your face!
Anyways, I guess it just blows me a way when people like broncos504 for example above your post, say we trade away all of our pro bowl players! No dissrespect broncos504 but no we don’t!!!!
We trade pro bowl players that don’t want to follow the rules, we trade pro bowl players that only think of themselves, we trade pro bowl players that can’t keep themselves from off the field negatives, we will even go as far as trading pro bowl players that seem to forget that this is a business.
That’s what the Denver Broncos are all about! We do not exchange talent for problems. That was the past! Agree or dissagree with McDaniels, it will not be tolerated any longer! ….I for one now understand what is happening and I like it!
I’ll tell you this much. We would all be blown away if we really knew what was said or done in that locker room or offices!

Nice stats, truly, but I hate when people say Cutler and Marshall never made the playoffs like they are the only ones on the team. You will remember that when they were here, they held up their end of the bargain on offense for the most part but we always broke down on defense. Hell, we havent made the playoffs since doom has been here, ship him out too. Im just saying the logic that we havent made the playoffs with Cutler and Marshall so ship them out is a stupid one in my opinion. The whole team has won like 1 playoff game in the last decade. Sounds like we should ship out the whole team huh? gimme a break. And then the thing about Marshall never had more than 100 yards in our victories. Thats nice but irrelevant. Question is, did he find the endzone in our victories. YES HE DID. nuff said. Gaf piled on the yards in the last game but we aint exactly win it. And without Marshall Orton didnt seem so awesome agaisnt a crappy Defense and threw 3 ints 2 that went back for touchdowns. Most INTs he ever threw in a game last year.
Im all for moving forward, hurts so much all i want to do is move forward. But to blame them for not making the playoffs is ridiculous. Especially Marshall. Cuz like OC said, Franchise QBs win games, “franchise WR” dont. They just do their Job on the Field, and Marshall did it very well. Franchise QBs dont need start WRs unfortunately we dont have a franchise QB, so it would have been nice to have as much superstar WR power.
But he is gone, it is what it is. Now that it has happened, the mystery isnt there anymore. We have all been waiting for this day when a decision, no matter the decision will be made. We can stop mudslinging now. He is gone, we can stop talking about it (until during the season when our passing O will probably be stale). We better be the best defense and number 1 on the ground cuz we gonna need it.

TRB…I will make this short and to the point…I agree 100% with everything you said,the fans that wanted rid of Marshall will be disapointed when McD wastes the draft picks we got for him,and be crying the blues when Ortons #s drop next season,and our Offense is staler than it was last year,we Better get the running game going is all I can say.Just one man’s opinion that don’t mean a Helluva lot.

ok here’s my take on the b-marsh situation. im kinda glad but at the same time im not because, the guy straight produced he caught over 100 balls the last three consecutive seasons only second to wes welker but also the problems off the field has been keeping us from moving on
on the draft situation its pretty apperent we are going to get dez bryant mcd likes the guy and wr is a very pressing need so with our two second rounders i think we trade down for sean weatherspoon to fill the absence of andra davis then in the third we go get an o-lineman or an cb or another wr but this whole draft situation will make alot of people upset and others jump for joy but we jjst have to wait for thursday thank you for listening
