  1. We really could use Chris Harris for this game. Just like we did vs the Chargers.

  2. RH709 says:

Ok seriously? WTF is Porter’s “illness”. Concussion? Hemroids? Low blood sugar?

  3. alaskanbronco06 says:

Jimmy Graham being limited is a good and bad sign. If he is still limited tomorrow it is unlikely he will play Sunday night. According to Joe Vitt said if Graham wasn’t practicing at all by Wednesday he wouldn’t play or if he wasn’t in full participation by Friday. Hopefully he doesn’t. He is a big target for Bree’s and IMO harder to cover than Gronk but a bit easier to tackle than Gronk.

    Finally an answer…

Tracy Porter has been sidelined in recent days because of precautionary measures the team’s medical staff is taking after the Broncos’ cornerback suffered a seizure in August.

Last Sunday, before the Broncos were to leave for San Diego for a game against the Chargers, Porter was experiencing light-headedness and his heart was racing — symptoms that occurred before he had a seizure in August. “I had never had one before, 26 years I’ve been living,” Porter said Thursday…

…Porter returned to practice this week. He missed the workout Thursday because of a doctor’s appointment where he hoped to get cleared to play Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints, his former team.

As of Thursday afternoon, Porter still was hoping to get cleared by a doctor.

  5. RH709 says:

Sorry to hear this and I hope Porter is ok. This is a serious matter and I am glad the Broncos have handled it as such.

  6. baylinorcrush says:

So, other than Porter and his basically non football related condition for which I wish him a good outcome, we currently have absolutely zero real issues with football related injuries. What an incredible turn around from the last conditioning team we had. Always said Tuten was a joke and his record of injured hammies and groins spoke volume about it. Many of us asked for his head time and time again while others said we made way too big a deal of it, that injuries were just part of football.

So how does that all feel about now? LOL.

  7. Broncos20 says:

Yeah ,, I pray Porter comes out strong… would be nice for him to play his old team.. C’mon DBs!! get a pick6 for Porter…

  8. Broncos20 says:

true Bay…one can only wonder how.. maybe its mostly mental.. maybe things haven’t changed at all in terms of aching and injuries..only this season with a different QB, the players sense a promising end to this season and would fight to the end.. IMO.. :D

  9. strandoftds82 says:

I’m hoping that Porter gets healthy 100% and back onto the playing field soon. Thats of course that he is cleared to play and good to go. I like Tracy Porters play.

  10. strandoftds82 says:

    Prediction: Repost
    Broncos 45
    Saints 20

  11. baylinorcrush says:

B20, it’s simply because of that new conditioning guy brought in by Del Rio, Luke Richesson, his regimen is fabulous I hear, so the results are not based on mental approach whatsoever IMO, not even luck, at least all the pulled this and that we used to get, those were mainly based on improper conditioning. Good riddance Tuten, we had him like forever… and good riddance to Xanders too, unloaded some of the dead beats obviously, way to go John.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

Other than bringing in Manning and Del Rio, getting on without Tuten and Xanders are the biggest off season move we made IMO.

  13. The Dane says:

    Prediction;

    Broncos: 35

    Saints: 27

  14. strandoftds82 says:

I’ve heard that Richeson even has the team on a diet of the dos and don’ts, and even what time to eat certain foods at certain times. Kind of a different but affect approach I think. Kind of neat stuff!

  15. RH709 says:

Im with you about the new guy Bay. I knew we would be better this year because of him. less injuries and tougher play.

  16. still1972 says:

    *official score prediction*
    Broncos 38- Saints 27

  17. still1972 says:

would’nt bother me at all if sproles missed the game that guy has always caused problems for the Broncos

  18. broncsbomber66 says:

Still waiting for Julius Thomas to contribute, I believe they were comparing him to Antonio Gates or Tony Gonzalez. Also, Ronnie has not played much. Would be nice to see him contribute more than he is now.

  19. ScalptheChiefs says:

    *** Game Prediction ***

    Broncos 45

    Saints 24

  20. baylinorcrush says:

As far as Sproles, it’s just an illness in his family, he will play Sunday.

  21. baylinorcrush says:

Man this thing is messing up, going to call it a day, but watch out for Sproles in the passing game in this one, he has notched at least four catches in each of his past three games and leads all running backs with 267 receiving yards on 32 catches.

  22. Broncos20 says:

    *** OFFICIAL SCORING PREDICTION***

    BRONCOS- 34
    SAINTS – 27

DT will get 2 TDs and over 120 yards.. yeaaah!!!

  23. broncosfreak718 says:

Good Morning Bronco Fam!! Glad to be back on the blogs. Been reading every day but just been really busy with work and other matters. Will be posting every day again now. The injury thing is a great thing to see with only Porter being questionable. I believe he would be great during that game with going up against his former team. He knows all of Brees tendencies. I believe he could have at least one pick if he plays. I hope to see even more improvement from Harris and Carter. I was pretty mad whenever we released Florence and kept Carter but saw last game why we did exactly that. Carter also has some nice speed with him.

  24. brian_schneider says:

It’s a good thing to see all of the team healthy. Hope they’re ready to go this weekend.

Does anyone know if Brookings has indefinitely replaced Mays at starting MLB?

  25. broncosfreak718 says:

    Brian..

On the depth chart it still shows Brookings as the starting MLB so as of now yes…I think he has played better than Mays and he is a great addition. He’s pretty good at sniffing out with what the offense is trying to do and is a better tackler and cover guy than Mays.

  26. broncosfreak718 says:

I would like to see Miller step it up drastically this game. I know that he has 6 sacks in 6 games but if you look at Matthews and Watt, he needs to have his 1st 3 sack game this Sunday. Brees isn’t very mobile at all so that will help. I am glad there was nothing drastic that happened to Miller last game. Don’t know if anyone saw, but he was definitely favoring his hip after he helped take down Rivers at one point and came out for one play. I see Doom having 2 sacks this Sunday and would like to see Miller have 2-3 of his own even though I would be happy to see at least 1 as well. Wanting him to lead the league in sacks this year. He’s a little behind at this moment if he’s going to do that.

  27. brian_schneider says:

One thing I’d like to see more of is us running the ball. I know..I know..we have Peyton “freakin’” Manning but I think as the season wears on we’ll need to be able to run the ball effectively as well. Teams that can run the ball effectivly can help control the tempo of the game. This will also help relieve Manning of doing it all himself. Manning has been playing well, but he’s getting older and even Elway needed TD to help him get to a SB. I know we’ve gotten behind in games which forces us to pass more. Hopefully we can elimnate the mistakes that put us in a hole, and get some good quality running. Call me old fanshioned, I’m only 29 but I’m still a huge fan of running the ball. I did watch NFL32 and Earl Cambell and Jim Brown were talking about how running backs now days don’t touch the ball 30+ times a game. Jim Brown was funny because his comment and I’m paraphrasing “no one RB is just that great.” It sure is turning into a passing league, but as Mark Schlereth mentioned “you show me a team that can run the ball and I’ll show you a team with a winning record.” Good teams can close out the game as well with a good running game.

I know it’s only a video game, but in my Madden franchise, my running backs always have 1000 yds+ and my QB maybe has a total of 2000 yds a season. I just enjoy seeing the big uglies battling it out in the trenches.

  28. broncosfreak718 says:

Also wouldn’t mind seeing us getting Holliday involved in the passing game. He is probably the fastest guy on our team now and getting him the ball on some screens would be nice just like we’ve done with demaryius. Having Thomas and Deck block for him on a screen would be pretty deadly!!! I really think Holliday is going to pay huge dividends for us. It was a fluke, imo, with that fumble last game. It was his first game with us and there were people in his face and the pressure was immense. I think it was perfect timing for our bye because I’m sure he’s had plenty of practice. Just in case no one knew, he had 3 returns for touchdowns in the preseason this year. I believe 2 punts and 1 kickoff return. I think he is more explosive than Royal in the return game!

  29. broncosfreak718 says:

Well Brian, I would love to see more running but with Hillman. Each time he’s carried or caught the ball he’s made nearly one guy miss each time. Willis is looking more slow each and every game to me. He had a catch that he could’ve ran for a td last game against the dolts if he would’ve had better speed. I say after this year he retires. I would like to see us give more carries and opportunities to Hillman on Sunday.

  30. brian_schneider says:

I think Royal’s wheelhouse is returning. He would get catches here and there but his talent defintely is returs. Can Holliday be more? Can he return and become, maybe not #1 or #2, but a slot machine like Stokely?
