Director of Player Personnel Matt Russell, a former first-team All-American and Butkus Award winner, has been elected to the University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Fame.
Thursday’s announcement makes Russell one of five Broncos who have been elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame of their respective alma maters, joining Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway (Stanford, 2002), Southwest Area Scout Cornell Green (Utah State, 1993), Director of Community Outreach Billy Thompson (Maryland State, 1984) and Pro Scout Dave Ziegler (John Carroll, 2010).
Russell, who is in his fourth season with the Broncos, was a four-year starter at Colorado (1993-96), finishing his collegiate career ranked first in school history in unassisted tackles (282) and second in total tackles (446). He received all-conference honors during each of his final two seasons with the Buffaloes, including a senior campaign in which he was a consensus first-team All-American and received the Butkus Award after posting a career-high 137 tackles.
The induction ceremony will take place on November 15.

A little vmnore onm the “Blizzard” game. Broncos wson the toss and elected to defend. They kicked off. Packers ran a play, fumbled and Broncvos recoverd for a TD. Broncios kicked off agaion. Pacvkers ran a polay and Broncos picked up the fumble for a TD. Ahead 14-0 and yet to run an offensive play.
There was game against the Raiders that the Broncos were behindf 12-0 before running an offense play. It went like this: Broncos kicked off to thr Raiders and they wenbt for a TD. Raiders kicked off anmf Flloyd Little mishandled ther ball on about the 1 yard line. He picked it up and took a knee in the endzone. Safety. Svcore now 9-0. Broncos free kick to the Raiders. Raiders advance ball enough to kick a field goal. No 12-0 and Broncos haven’t run an offensive play yet. Worst part is that it was atr Mile Hiogh. BBBBLLLLHHHHH!!!!

Trouble for the Denver Broncos out of Miami, where defensive end Elvis Dumervil was arrested on Saturday night, according to CBS4 in Denver.
According to the police report, Dumervil is accused of aggravated assault with a firearm. His bond was set at $7,500.

Elvis Dumervil’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, on his client’s arrest this weekend: “No charges have been filed. No aggravated assault or assault took place. And it is likely that once the full investigation is complete, no charges will be filed against Mr. Dumervil.”

I was in disbelief when I checked out nfl.com only to see that report on Doom. I was like, “You gotta be kidding me!” Pretty upsetting to say the least. But we don’t know all the facts yet so hopefully he will not be convicted of anything and there will be no suspensions, or even worse, jail time.
It still boggles my mind how high profile athletes can let themselves get involved in these types of situations.
On a positive note, I had a chance to lay down some tracks on the country song and will have it posted up here this week. It’s sounding pretty sweet too!

thanks for the link cat…………it actually raises more questions. What I don’t understand is why Doom would state he had no gun if there was one in the glove box. If the incident occured as to how the victim states, showing the guns under the shirts seems like something out of a thug movie…………..

Well, the witness didn’t see guns I don’t think and the so called “victim”, the one who cut him off and then threw stuff at his car. Perhaps he didn’t remember there being a gun in his glove box, but perhaps he has a permit for carrying it in his car. This is VERY weird. Here I thought all day yesterday it was much much worse than this. Aggravated assault made me think he’d been in a fight too, so I guess I don’t know much about what aggravated assault really is.
I don’t know. This whole thing is bizarre. It’s almost funny when you think about how stupid it is.
