Receiver Eddie Royal returned to action for the Broncos Sunday for the first time since injuring his groin in the Sept. 18th game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Royal was targeted four times, catching two passes for 14 yards, including a critical 7-yard pass on the Broncos’ final drive of regulation to set them up for a third-and-short situation, which they converted.
Even though the game went into overtime, Royal said he felt fine throughout the contest.
“I feel good,” Royal said Monday. “It was a long game; it was hot. I was able to make it through, and it felt good the whole game.”
Royal said the last five minutes of Sunday’s game, when the Broncos scored two touchdowns, showed the team’s potential.
“It kind of showed you what we’re capable of doing,” Royal said. “We’ve just got to put a whole game together. There were a lot of plays that we didn’t really hit on in the beginning of the game, but we figured it out in the last five minutes, and that was just enough time.”
While the offense surged late in the game, it struggled in the first three quarters. With a 5-2 Detroit Lions team coming into town this weekend, Royal knows the team needs to play better the entire 60 minutes.
“It was challenging, just because we had opportunities (in the first three quarters), and we didn’t capitalize on them,” Royal said. “We’ve got to do a better job playing a good Detroit team coming in here, so we’ve really got to make those plays to keep us in these games.”

Glad you are back and feeling great Eddie. Get in some good work this week so we can whip those Lions. Good luck to all of you guys.
GO BRONCOS!!!
Royal, just forget the 2009 and 2010 seasons and just start over with 2008 in your head. It will look like so much more fun that way!
I want Royal to be a lifetime bronco … all round great guy … with big time potential … but im gonna need to see that rookie season again … chances are very unlikely since this new offense passes less but I need to see something. Still believe in your Royal.
Theme of the year — BELIEVE!!!!
Later days, TRB out….
Eddie we are all counting on you!
I see you as the Wes Welker of Denver. Time to cut loose. Love your play!

GO GET EM BOYS!
Someone needs to write a blog on Fox –
I don’t like Fox very much after a Bronco loss. He looks to me like a coach trying to hold it together in the face of being fired. Could it be he is still a little ‘gun shy’ of criticism? – still unrecovered from the CAR experience.
On the otherhand with this win Fox was relaxed, had a sense of humor, laughed at himself, the uncanny events, and Tebow. I began to believe I could like him as a person. I was worried about that.
I very much enjoyed the camera shots of Fox after the TD’s and the 2 point conversion. He does have passion!
In the end, as with Tebow, Fox will be evaluated by his win loss record and a consistent Tebow is his best shot at that right now. I think I may verbally ‘choke’ the next person who writes that they think the coaches are intentionally sabotaging Tebow. (They have signed Tebow up for private QB lessons, and they are all giving it their dead level best to get everyone on the same page – give ‘em a minute to get it worked out!)
The jury is still out – but I think in the near future ‘our coach’ will be sentenced for a long and winning run in Denver.
With McGahee out, do you think that Moreno’s production on Sunday could be a positive byproduct of Willis’s injury?
It’s was Moreno’s show prior to the injury and then Willis made the most of his opportunity. Does that scenario work effectively now for Moreno?
We talk about what a player may or may not do with his opportunities as well as what “competition” will do at each position. Is this a situation where Moreno realizes he’s expendable and uses this “opportunity” for a performance we haven’t seen in a while?
Just a thought!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
No doubt in my mind EFX is setting up Tebow to fail.
Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!!!!!
That’s the sound of being strangled, LMAO!
Too bad Eddie wants to be traded, we wont see him when his contract ends.
Bay,
Do I dare ask why you think that?
Hoping for Moreno to be the #1 RB is like hoping for any of our current WR to be the #1 WR, haha, just kidding, kind of… but honestly, all this is is Moreno hopes, no way he can carry the load, he can compliment a back but never be the back, it’s going to be stressful to have to watch Moreno and Ball, just when it was so exciting to have a real back again. Johnson will need to be activated from the PS for sure, unless they have something up their sleeve with Quinn the third.
Didn’t you read daddy’s post?
Hello everyone. This is the first post for me, but I read your posts all the time.
It is good to have Royal back. Also, I agree with you daddybronc, that is the best I have seen John Fox look after a game so far. Hopefully this team gets healthy, and stays healthy for the rest of the year.
daddybronc, I think Fox and McCoy still have the “round peg, square hole” problem to a certain extent when it comes to Tebow. He is not now and probably never will be a “classic” QB who stands tall in the pocket and makes the beautiful 40-yard perfect spiral but that doesn’t mean he can’t do it ever. He seems to throw well enough to complete passes into very tight spots when he has to. He also works better out of the shotgun spread, but so do a lot of other top QB’s, many of whom work out of the shotgun 50% or more of the time. Let him operate out of the shotgun until you can polish up the rough spots and see where it takes you. What I see with the coaching staff is that they are still trying force the offense from under center, dictate what play is supposed to be run and how, and not just setting up a play and letting the playmakers make the plays. Sometimes, you have to be careful not to over-think the plumbing! I’m concerned that Fox and McCoy may be doing that.
Remember, two days ago the team was healthy, except for Julius everyone was ok, and one game and pouffff, starting the healing process all over again, and it will be like that every week, tough business, good teams come through though, see Packers.

LOL jk but that would be pretty sweet. could you imagine the media storm from that? maybe fox and scwartz will fist fight after the game LOLOL.
Can anyone tell me if or when Ty Warren will be able to play????
LOL! Bay I agree with you. However, I guess in the short term is what I’m thinking.
I like what McGhaee brings as an everydown back with Moreno complimenting as well but that wasn’t his role prior to his injury. Mcgahee was complimenting Moreno.
I guess what I’m wondering can Moreno “pull it off” in a game where we are going to have to run the ball. For the season? I think we’ve seen enough of Willis to know we need him back and let Moreno compliment him. But can Knowshon sieze the moment despite how short it may be! Will the kid see it as another opportunity.
and if you give me a one word answer that starts with “n” I’m going to scream at you through my computer! LOL!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
Alright Easy E!
The #1 Receiver spot is WIDE OPEN right now! Seize the day and show what you can do!
HUGE NUMBERS for the one who steps up!
GO BRONCOS! GO EDDIE!
I Believe
Ok, not one word, how about 6:
NoGo Moreno
NoShow Moreno
NoHow Moreno
LMAO.
2nd time I posted that today, sorry NoWay, haha.
Big D
Warren is out for the year, on IR, nowway nohow (Moreno) will you see him play this year.
You forgot after this year he might be Nojob Moreno
From John Clayton @ ESPN: “What the Broncos learned is the only way to let Tebow be Tebow is to put him in the shotgun and cover your eyes!” Sometimes it will be a fun ride, sometimes it won’t, but it will never be boring.
cant wait for sunday, we should see better chemistry on offense. what i like the most is our team has hope. i say we beat the lions 24- 16.
Daddybronc: You said the hired a private QB trainer for Tebow. I didn’t see this news anywhere. If so, I hope it works. He needs some help and him and the offense need to stay at practice late aand work, work, work.
Why did we have to hire a private QB trainer?
We have the perfect QB trainer sitting up in the front office running the football operations! LOL
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
Broncos Win : 27-24
I think the only way Tebow prevails is in a Shotgun spread offense with a lot of bootlegs and WR screens. We have the personnel IMO to do so.
