Eddie Royal appeared on ESPN First Take this morning, and the second-year wideout spoke about his enthusiasm for the 2009 campaign.
Royal talked with host Jay Crawford about Head Coach Josh McDaniels’ offensive system, how the club jelled through organized team activities and how he hopes to connect with Broncos Country this year. Enjoy the video.

I still remember the first Madden. Elway had 10 speed. You pick shotgun Post-up or audible with the A A. lol Touchdown allday.
What they nee to bring back though is NFL 2K. I don’t know why they stopped that game. That’s the only Football game NFL wise, that gave it a run for it’s money. Madden that is.
I hope the game is more realistic this year, and I wonder if Vick will be on the game.
I haven’t seen the game yet but the rating doesn’t matter because on a bad day those guys on maddennation can’t touch my game……I run the show! ;>)
Is that the espn verison or another one? There is one game where you play from the prespective of the player through his helmet you would run the ball up and see a LB fly across and cruch your ass.

Love playing against or with the bears in that game. Go for a dive and get hammered by Urlacher or hamming people with him.

Not really I think he is rated like 78 or something overall, not great.
thats only because he is a rookie. if you are a franchise player like I am then his rating will most likely be in the high 80′s by his 3rd year. Im probably gonna have some fun with oour secondary though.
Its the change of scheme and not knowing how the likes of Doom will handle it.

Yeah the ratings are BS, I am a franchise player as well and yes by the thrid year this team would dominate. Also check out Josh Barrett, he has a low overall 60 somthing, but he has really good ratings it is just his awareness is really low, play him a few seasons and he will be a pro bowler.
put Royal as you’re number one reciever and then he gats an overall boost and a pro bowl so next season you can have 2 overall 90 recievers in Marshall and Royal.
Easy as pie, I am a little unhappy that they unrated our offense line so much, no one over 90 what a joke.

Yeah they do it by team rating, our team rating is 70, so to keep it low they have to lower the ratings of our players. Its for they predicted outcome what they think the results will be this year.
With culter they would think our team rating would be higher.

Haha it is his game and he is a better commentator than the other guy. Always thought it was funny when he said that guy has gone off for a blow on the side line.

I know some of the things he says are funny.

I know the things he says are sometimes just too funny, like the one when he talks about a lion hunting its prey and refers that to a LB making a tackle too funny.

eddie is the man….i just got done watching the all time defense for the broncos clip…i didnt see any of DWILL i dont know about you guys but his stats were up there to be on par with the legends….when ever i watch clips of baily or fox on there i cant help but wonder where dwill is in those vids cuz i know he on the sideline or sumthin so i rewind it a bunch to see..but i dont….
maybe the broncos could give us a tribute video of clips that u just cant find on youtube…that would be great to watch and remember! rip dwill
I’m a franchise type guy on madden to. In the 4th season of 09 at my 4th straight super bowl. I hate the salary cap dings it gives you for trades right before pre season though. Had 70 Mill in cap space and was going to sign a bunch of people HUGE FA summer, got dinged and had 10 MILL over the cap. Had to make more trades, luckily Patrick Willis was in his rookie contract year though, so I traded Karlos Dansby and a pick for him and shaved 12 MILL. LOL
I really like the Superstar mode though now, for those who didn’t like it, run through the Campus Legend on NCAA adjacent year game and then import him to Madden. My RB was a 94 Overall, but went in the 4th round??? Needless to say I redid the draft to a team I kinda liked, Denver wouldn’t pick me, then I demanded a trade til I went there. They traded Dre Bly for my guy, he was such a beast.
Doesn’t matter what difficulty its on for the NCAA to help your guy get better, then just import him. Needless to say how beastly he was, rushed for 2,300 yards first season, THAT’S EVEN WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO CALL THE PLAYS. Thing they need to change on that is so you can be involved more in the offense, I’d always call time out if it was a crucial play and I wasn’t in. You can have the through the helmet cam on Madden, but first was NFL 2k4 I think. I hate that view cuz you can’t just turn your head without moving that direction.
2k didn’t stop making the games by choice, EA/Madden signed a 5 year deal with the NFL in 2005-2006 to be exclusive NFL game. That’s why 2k made that Football Greats or whatever where you play with all the greats.
Barrett is a monster, hit stick anyone and its a shattering hit or a fumble. I sign him to a 7 year deal right away, start him, control him mostly, PRO BOWL, JUMPS ATLEAST TO 80 SOMETHING AFTER 1 SEASON, AND ONLY COSTS LIKE 500k A YEAR FOR 7 YEARS! LOL
They may screw us on the ratings guys, but look at it this way, you can resign everyone to 7 year deals with bonus incentives and have a lot of cap space but still field a championship caliber team!

Oh ya, another help to make a monster in superstar mode WHILE DOING THE DUMB TESTS!!!
The ring builder for the game itself, get that up to a higher ring, and it lets you create FREAK DL at like ring 2, FREAK CB at ring 3, so on so forth, but anyway once you get the FREAK setting for the position you want your guy to be then create him. I did it with a DL for Denver, it makes the tests MUCH EASIER! I’m dead serious my LE to take Moss’s spot ran the 40 yard dash in 3.89 seconds at 6′ 4″ 290 lbs! I did well on the other tests too.
Just a tip, sorry for the long post about a game we all despise at the moment. Hope that the deal is up soon and espn’s 2k series comes back out full force soon! 2k5 was still the best since Tecmo and Super Tecmo bowl!
