Eddie Royal appeared on ESPN First Take this morning, and the second-year wideout spoke about his enthusiasm for the 2009 campaign.
Royal talked with host Jay Crawford about Head Coach Josh McDaniels’ offensive system, how the club jelled through organized team activities and how he hopes to connect with Broncos Country this year. Enjoy the video.

The Vick thing came from broncos504 man Crush for Vick. I still shudder at the thought of Vick playing for us. I think of all the dissension it would cause amongst the fans and the locker room. We would be the laughing stock of the NFL. The Raiders would no longer be the dysfunctional team of the NFL. Denver is already pushing the envelope with all the problems we’ve had during the off-season. We don’t need Vick to send this team over the edge. Besides, we have Moreno and Hillis and Bucky. We don’t need a running QB. Orton will take care of business.
Simms is just rusty. Orton has been playing and is fresher in the fold and scheme of things. Simms will be fine if Orton goes down. As the season goes on, he will grasp things even more and things will settle down for him.

Here’s an irony: Vick playing for the Browns, as the fans watch from the “Dog Pound” seats in Cleveland and eat dog buiscuits when the Browns score. (Aren’t the Browns supposed to have something to do with dogs?)
I think Vick deserves another chance but not with our team. Now on to other things…. Kyle is our QB and I think he will do a good job with the chance to be great. E. Royalty along with B. Stoke are just two of the reasons why I’m not worried about the Brandon Marsha Marsha Marshall ordeal. As far as that wack Madden rating, well we have to prove alot of people wrong this year.

As for the Vick issue… I don’t think our front office is that stupid to get someone like him to come to play for us. He’s gonna have to earn people’s trust back in order to get a stable job back in the NFL. And Orton will be a good QB for us, just give him a chance. He’s got a whole new team he’ll be apart of and we’ve gotten better… so he’s got a better chance to do better here than what he was given in Chicago. If you can give McDenver a chance… you can go one step further and give Orton a chance. This could be an offense to be reckoned with and none of even know it yet. So excited for this season… bored silly without any football!

I highly doubt Vick goes to Denver but stranger things have happened, and we still haven’t signed our rookies yet. But can’t wait for football season. As for the madden rating that is so wack plus they still have Boss and Arrignton on the team, which are gone and there is no Kenny McKinley, Wes Woodyard and Ryan Torain.

I know what you mean, they look at it as a team rating and not an individual rating so it is bias. But they do have a completely different rating system which contuinly changes. For example Doom is 66 or something like that for an OLB but he has great skills for the DE position. So each player has some skills that will help them. But they better update that and remove the guys we don’t have and add the guys which will make the team, ie Wes.
They probably wont update it. They’ll probably do like they did last year where you update it online or when you go to play a game. On another note…. so T.O. has is own show and he loves him some him!
TO is a joke, you has HOF sort of numbers but probably won’t get in because of all the other BS that goes with him. And they should update it with the final rosters. But I doubt they will do that.

Broncfalls just incase you didn’t see mrbroncofan’s post. We did trade our first round pick away but we kept Chicago’s because their pick will be higher than ours! My guess is our’s will be a late 20′s pick where as their’s will be somewhere under 15 or so.
That being said, I don’t like Vick on our team anymore than most of you. ESPECIALLY AS A QB!! If he does get picked up by any team it will be as a Scat Back position mixed with some wild cat! I have to say him lining up at HB being the change of pace for us would be interesting but not worth the risk and drama!

Madden is always way off on the ratings, they didn’t have any of our rookies last year that came out on their with anything to use in a game. You had to sign Woodyard off the free agent wire and he was terrible. Royal was like a low 70′s as well as Clady, while Jake Long was a high 80-low 90!
It would be too hard for them to wait for the official rosters being as the game comes out in August usually. I like the game but their bias against Denver irritates me and I don’t know that I’ll buy it this year because I have a hard time playing as any other team. UNLIKE the wagon jumpers online! Everyone is either the pats or chargers since they’re high 90′s team.
The one thing they got right is the online update for the rosters. i.e. Royal and Clady were low 70′s at the start, I was in the 4th season in franchise had them up to mid 80′s. Updated then started a new franchise mode and they moved Clady to 90 something and Royal to like 87 or so.
Can’t wait for this season, maybe I’ll pick up a copy of madden after they update it and give us some love when we turn heads with our whiplash defense and still as explosive offense!!
If Big Ben is really being accuse of that he needs to hire the same attorney that Kobe Bryant did!!

2champ4pickSIX I’m with ya, I don’t see why they always have to rush the game out before the rosters are even close to being done. Shaq will make his show worth the while some way some how.
I think they should release it in the first week of the season. So we know rosters are finialised.
I have pretty much completely lost my faith in the Madden franchise. They are way off on ratings, and never let Denver be as good as they should be. The draft in franchise mode is completely worthless- even the top 10 picks are mid 80′s (if you are lucky). After the first round they aren’t even worth the money. It is way too difficult to develop players, and even this is usually to little gain. All of the players wind up being greedy idiots and demand $10M+ per year. The scouting system is terrible, and running backs are useless if they are not a “weapon”- even then, rushing is tough. The deep pass pretty much never works (1 in 100, 200, 300?), even if the WR has 5 yards on the defender.

The superstar mode has become stupid because it is ridiculously hard to create your own superstar (unless you use create a player instead of drills, but then why bother- you can just make all 99). Pass protection has gone out the window- even with all my linemen 93+ I only get a second or two. The thing that bugs me most, however, is how unlike actual football it is- CB’s CANNOT jump 5 feet in the air to a place that is 5 yards away and catch a bullet pass. A running back CANNOT shrug off a whole team of tacklers at once. The computer for superstar mode is idiotic- nobody gets their block, and the running back won’t hit the hole they are supposed to, even if it is a gaping whole. Until EA can fix Madden up and make it more realistic, I’ll take Head Coach, Call of Duty, Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, Halo, pretty much anything else.
i hope Chris Baker dominates too, we need a good DL this year.

FootballManiac the trick is. The higher the level the more of the buttons you have to use. On superstar level , you have control almost everything. Switch off the back and pick the line man to throw that block. You pick a pass play that calls for a 5 step drop. Don’t drop back 10 and wait for someone to get open. You have to play the game as if it was real.
What did Cutler (curse his cry baby name) get?
I give Madden another year or two and it wont have all the hype behind it. Alot of people are into the NCAA Video Game these days.

Its a good game and a strong franchise so it will be around for a while. But they need to do better ratings and rosters.

Yeah it is a big EA game so it will survive, maybe it will change to the Jamie Dukes game and then the Broncos would get no love.
