Here’s what was said following Detroit’s 45-10 victory over Denver:
Head Coach John Fox: “We’ve got a ways to go. We’ve been good at times. Today wasn’t good enough. That is a good football team coming off two losses. Two or three years ago, they were 0-16, so it’s doable. I think they’ve improved, and they’ve got some good players to help them do that.”
Quarterback Tim Tebow: “I’m just going to get up early and go to work and try to get better tomorrow and consistently improve and be the best person [and] quarterback for this organization and continue to improve.”
Cornerback Champ Bailey: “Honestly, I can’t pinpoint one thing, but we’ve got to look at film. I think as a defense, we’ve just got to get off the field a lot sooner. Of course, we were out there a lot, but at the same time, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got to get off the field.”
Linebacker Joe Mays: “It is difficult losing. I think the guys are tired of losing. We are just trying to do whatever is necessary to come out there and be successful and get a win. As a team, we need to get better.”
Defensive Lineman Robert Ayers: “We came out here—I never discredit, no matter what the scoreboard says, I will never put down the effort that my team puts out. We are going to fight regardless. The scoreboard says 45-10, but I give credit to anyone that steps on this field and lays it on the line, regardless of the scoreboard.”

Hopefully we can bounce back agianst a raiders team that seems to be heading in the wrong direction … assuming Carson hasn’t turned into superman over the bye week. TRB
I’m not throwing Tebow under the bus yet,but he is gonna have to play a Helluva lot better the last 9 games,to be honest I don’t think he will!!!
Sorry Tebowites,I’m about to jump ship!!!!!
i do believe he will start all games for the rest of the season. quinn will not be involved. if it was up to me he would be our next great qb. but just dont know. just want a winning team. and looking for that franchise qb. ever since cutler was traded.
TRB, sorry but honestly you are dreaming if you think Tebow can get any better on this team with these coaches this year, he has now been exposed and it will only get more difficult.
Couldnt agree more Bay I mean on a few occasions Elway has been at Stanford games before sunday… How many games do you attend as an ALUM? I think its a sign as to intentions and Luck will be wearing number 12 next year in Orange and Blue Sorry willis
QUINN WATCH!!!
I didn’t say Luck would be a Bronco next year since there are no guarantees in life but Elway sure will try his best is all I meant.
No I know what you were saying I just think it truely will happen
Anyhow I didn’t read any of the one thousand game posts but it sure seems as if most Tebow disciples other than armadillo hit the sack pretty early.
Maybe im a dreamer but there is one thing I know i don’t know … and thats the future … so im gonna watch things unfold and see where the ball lands … and if there another thing I know its that you don’t count Tebow out until he is actually out … still got 9 games … ill watch those and then decide … after a start like this … he will have to take him game to a whole new level so we will see … not to mention the team lost but yes isolating just his play … it was bad … and u did say with “these coaches” which leads me to believe that u don’t believe they know how to use him (I believe I recall u saying this many times) … either way … I won’t be sucked in to decide if the guy can make it … ill evaluate after the 11 games (assuming he gets all of them) … TRB
only way we get luck is if miami doesnt get that number 1. they have been waiting for a franchise qb about as long as us. and from the looks of it they might get it. whos next?
man … i really wish i wasn’t always the only gullible hopeful lol. but I do believe that before the evaluation period is over … we will know who he really is … not now.
A week after eveyone thought Fox was crazy for saying Orton gives this team the best chance to win was he proven right? If we are being honest we would have beat Miami with Orton at the helm easily and we would have had a much better offensive game with him at the helm today not to mention he’d be throwing the ball to Brandon Lloyd still.. Anyone agree?
not before … but by the time the evaluation period is over*
I actually thought Tebow would play a good game today,Detroit’s Defense isn’t that good, the loss can’t be pinned on Tebow, because the whole team sucked, except Colquitt!!!!!!!!
It is very hard to evaluate a QB when the coaches we have aren’t the right coaches Tebow needs to succeed, but Orton had to survive with the same coaches, and he sucked too, that should tell us something right there!!!
Lax … not a fair assesment cuz people could say … we coulda beat SD with TT at the helm after the way he sparked a surge. Either way … as it stands .. in fox system … under this whole best chance to win … in 5 games “orton” was 1-4 and in 2 games “Tebow” is 1-1 … so the best chance to win thing is relative. And I put thier names in parenthesis because they weren’t the only ones on the field. TRB
maybe lax. the thing is, that this is anew regime. out with the old(lloyd, orton) cause even if lloyd was here till the end of the season they will both be gone.
McCoy definitely needs to go!!!
Well even some of the best qbs get beat downs. Not saying tt is the best just saying that every team gets a beat down. Sometimes a beat down is what is needed. But if we are going to draft a qb and we dont get luck then we should totally draft Landry Jones. The kid is a beast.
another thing that bothered me was our d. did they get a sack today. dont think so. allen needs to more aggresive. give a qb time in the pocket……….well u know.
Coaches, coordinators and the right staff overall works wonders … look at harbaugh in SF …. the blends gotta be just right … like a smoothie or something. TRB
timmah,I agree Landry had over 500 yards Saturday, more than Bradford ever did,the kid has a laser arm!!!!!
Fair analysis but with what we saw the last 2 games can anyone say Tebow would have given a better chance those first 5 games and does the argument of SD not having gameplanned for Tebow a bit more reasonable explination now that weve seen tebow being gameplanned for? lie BAY said I only see this getting worse… Hope im wrong but dont think it will be the case
TRB,I agree 110%!!!!!!!
Too bad he didnt want to coach here
socal,Luck don’t have to play for Miami if they draft him,he could pull an Elway or go back to school,he’s only a junior!
To be honest I don’t blame Tebow for being off the mark with his passes in that game. After the first series it kinda snowballed on him. Even the announcers were commenting on the play calling. On top of that the line looked more like a saloon door during happy hour. Half the time when he threw it looked like he was throwing scared.
What needs to happen is McCoy needs to give Tebow some curls and slants to throw everyonce in a while and not go for the home run hit every play. I understand that they want to keep the defense honest but if they keep getting to your QB when you go for a deep ball they probably won’t change their scheme so we needed to change ours.
TRB ur right. look at alex smith it only took him 5 years to finally start playing like a nfl qb.
we had 2 sacks …. Miller was held without a sack tho (first time all year) … the lions had been in full panic mode … worst on 3rd down or something like that … we shoulda put more pressure … but there was alot of uncertainty in the secondary as could be seen on that blown coverage with a man just sitting in the endzone waiting for the pass by himself.
It wasn’t like we had the best coaches waiting in line to coach here,we had to take the leftovers,it is what it is!!!!!
Well Bronc on Bros,I’m hittin’ the hay!!!!!!
TT improved drastically from last week…everyone that’s saying he won’t get any better must be watching different games than me…the entire team was outplayed today…other than his one pick, and another pass that should have been picked, Tebow played great today, much better than our receivers did anyway.
Socal … thats why Urban Myer was defending smith … same for Tebow … that he knows the guys he coached and they just need to be in the right situation and that Alex Smith was always good.
There are only a handful of people that you can put in any system and they will always play at their full potential … for some others … they need to be in the right system for them … it explains how some people come out and are good and others come out and are bust … or that a coach change can bring out things in a player you had never seen … or a different location can do the same.
Either way … whether Timmy stays here or not is watever … but he is the kinda guy that will do everything in his power and i believe even if its not with the broncos … he will forge himself a path elsewhere … sometimes its just feels good to be wanted … and for people to understand u, your strength and weaknesses and how to use you. Cedric Benson was nothing with the bears but great with the Bengals … and then Forte goes to the same bears Benson couldn’t do anything with … and beasts … its about the system … for example … im pretty sure Chris Johnson didn’t just forget how to run the rock overnight … TRB
You are right BFE … and later man … hopefully this bad taste in our mouths is gone by tommorow … but next sunday is another game … and I try my best to enjoy all bronco games … cuz once the season is over and I have to wait 8 months plus for some broncos football and I am suffering from withdrawl … ill be dying to just see a bronco game … any game. TRB
And the Tebowites come out but I would figure it is past their bed times!
and at the first scent of confrontation bam back to bed!
Not sure if you’re referring to me LAX, but I’m definitely not a Tebowite, if the definition of it is caring more about Tebow than the Broncos. I’m a Bronco fan first and foremost, but I do like Tebow, and I just get frustrated when people say things like “he’ll never improve” or “he’ll never get better in this system” when he obviously already has.
Just saying if you watched the game it is obvious he played as equally table for 3 quarters… Defense backs off he makes a few throws and it satisfies his fans just saying 101 points in the 4th quarter of a blow out means nothing especially not improvment
TRB, Tebows performance speaks for itself. No need to pike it on. Or throw him under. This was a total breakdown.
Maybe the best thing would be to convert him to a H-back. That has the ability to run wildcat?
I don’t buy into the terrible playcalling.
His mechanics are terrible. You can draw up the perfect gameplan, call the perfect plays, it’s up to the execution of those called plays… Blame can be spread around plenty.
Most of it falls on QB1 and HC
sndvl always was a smart guy! And I was thinking that exact thing he can be kept as a HB and run the wildcat flea flickers etc
another performance like that against the Raiders next week and Quinn just might get a start after all, gotta see some improvement from TT
the Wildcat seems to be almost extinct
The Fox Paradox.
He succumbed to the immense ‘pressure’ to play Tebow. So, does he continue to start Tebow? Can he even go back to Orton? What about Quinn?
If none of the 3 will be here next year do you go to Weber?
My guess is he sticks with Tebow until an injury. And with 7 sacks + 10 runs+ a few knockdowns, let’s say 12 hits/game…Ouch.
Though, as a new HC (who I’m sure wants to win just like everybody else on the team) he may do what’s in his best interest.
I mean not even half the season has been played and there is already talk of his job.
Unlike the last HC, I’m willing to wait 3 years.
(this year doesn’t count IMO either).
GO BRONCOS!!
Wow. That hurt. I’ve gotta say, though, that I didn’t really expect a huge improvement over last week. Tim made SOME better decisions, and SOME better passes, but overall, he stank it up most of the day. In my eyes, there is one major problem with him. It is great to have a mobile quarterback. It’s awesome to have a QB who can really run, because defenses fear that extra weapon. However, it is NOT good to have a QB who RELIES on running. As we have seen in the last 2 games, Tim RELIES on his ability to run and scramble. When the Lions and Dolphins took that ability away… well teams are always trying to stuff the run to make their opponents one-dimensional. Taking away Tebow’s run effectively removes to QB from the game altogether. How many football teams to any of us know that can win without a QB?
Now, I was on here early this season with everyone else hooting and hollering for Tebow to be put in. I do not think that it was a mistake. We all said that we wanted to see what Tim could do. Well, we’re seeing it. He needs to start the rest of the season. If he’s consistently bad, then we can cut him and ship him home on the first available flight at the end of the season. If he improves markedly, then we can try to deal him to a team willing to build around his strengths. Either way, New Year’s Day will be the last time he suits up for a game as a Bronco.
Now, I would like to remind everyone who is suddenly jumping off the Tebow bandwagon about a specific comment made by many of you during the debacle that was Orton’s five starts. “I’d rather see us lose with Tebow, than watch Orton.” Not everyone said it, but a few did, and many echoed the sentiments. Stick around, Broncos Country, the team may be bad, but we won’t be forever. SEMPER BRONCOS!!
We should buy some Brady Quinn bill boards? anyone willing to go in on that with me? QUINN WATCH
You’re right Cladybunch. A WildHorses QB. What was I thinking?
I wrote a novel and its lost, #@$% message board.
Oh, yeah. There’s one other thing that is REALLY starting to get under my skin. I really do respect Tebow’s devotion to his faith, his confidence, charisma, and work ethic. HOWEVER, someone needs to buy the man a new crackerjack box of post-game comments. This “improve every week,” “work hard and look at film.” “need to get better.” “Do my best.” blah, blah, blah! GRRR!!! Come out and say it. “I played like crap today. I don’t have an excuse.” It seems like every comment is the same and I’m tired of it. I’d rather hear Orton’s post game remarks because they’re at least football related.
Stop, this was about 5% Tebows fault at best. Thats what my novel was about, all the things that were going wrong for Denver. No show Moreno, look out the tackle, Dewhershisass Thomas (certainly not open), the bend and break defense. Plenty of blame to go around. Tebow wasn’t pretty, but I have yet to see a QB look pretty who has an average 2 seconds to throw and no one open. Detroit took us behind the woodshed, flat out.
I guarantee you that no matter who we had at quarterback, there was far too much going wrong in that game for even an NFL great to overcome. Tebow has his share of the blame, lets just leave it at that.
Haha Orton at the helm would be a welcome change right now and yeah he never seems upset I want a little fire and for him to admit he wasn’t very good and why he wasnt not Im gonna get better guys I really wil work my hardest to
