On Willis McGahee’s late-game success:
“He’s one of those guys—I’ve had players like that in the past—that take a little time to get a feel for it and get in a groove. In the run game, that can be particularly true. Then, there’s a wear-down effect on your opponent as well. It’s like body blows in a heavyweight fight. They might take their toll, maybe not in the first five rounds but in the last five rounds. Part of that’s just a culmination of sticking to it and pounding it until you open it up.”
On Von Miller’s development:
“Whether it’s quarterback, outside linebacker, fullback, left guard, this is the best there is in the world. When you take level jumps like going from JV to Varsity, you’re taking a big level jump, so it takes a minute for any young player. He’s gotten better every week. I think his body of work proves that whether it’s run, pass rush, I think he’s improved quite a bit since the beginning of the season.”
On Andre’ Goodman’s season:
“First of all, he’s a true pro, a fierce competitor. He’s been healthy—knock on wood. He probably had his best outing yesterday. I thought in the first game we gave up some explosive passes. We gave up some more explosive runs that what we’d liked, but as far as the pass game goes, we did better as far as opponent quarterback ratings, as far as yard per pass attempt, total yards. Part of that was we didn’t give up an abundance of explosive passes, and he was a part of that.”
On Eric Decker’s improvement as a second-year pro:
“I did a lot of work on him with my old team coming out. We were familiar with him. A lot of young players, you evaluate quite a big coming out of college, and Eric was one of them. In fact, he had a foot/toe issue, and one of our orthopedics there actually did the surgery. I was very familiar with him as a guy, player, what his readiness was going to be for his rookie season. I expected him to take big jumps. It’s hard enough coming into this league as a rookie, especially at the receiver position which probably has a bigger failure rate than quarterback. Nursing the toe and coming of the things he had to go through, combine those things and it’s tough. He made an impact late in the season a year ago as a return guy, receiver. This year coming in, even by the time we did report as a league, he was way ahead. His work ethic and his preparation in the offseason was probably second to none. He’s reaping those benefits. He was primed for a big season, and we’re going to need him down the stretch.”

yup… Decker is AWESOME!!! What up with Eddie lately tho? seems like he has the dropsies or something! Miller and the defense are playing amazing, Tebows throws are looking tighter IMO, and McGahee is running like a man possesed! Love smash mouth football!
GO BRONCOS!!!
GET SOME, GET SOME, UH.. UH.. UH
All good stuff, guys stepping it up all around!
as a side not, the picture above looks like Tebow is saying “here comes the tickle monster”!!! and Fox is saying “No!, No tickle monster” then laughing uncontrollably!!
Glad to see that after all I’m not the only one who gave due recognition to Goodman’s play yesterday.
I love Decker’s down field blocking. He engages and drives his opponent where ever he wants. Flat out dominates his guy everytime.
I was thinking that Andre was looking much better too. His coverage was just on point yesterday. He has been burned on the big play by SD in games past.
Good on ya goodman
Goody looked good yesterday – another guy who I’d love to see get a ring before he’s too old.
But it’s clear; he’s another guy that is winding down.
Goodie’s biggest problem is that he plays opposite Champ. That means they’re coming after him 60% of the pass plays. He’s bound to get tired.
Bummer that we had to put Vaughn on IR. Just bum luck. However, I am glad to see that they moved McCarthy up. I liked him in the preseason. Hopefully he can contribute some down the stretch. Semper Broncos!!
Proud of our TEAM!!! Goodman is playing well again and the WHOLE D is looking AWESOME!!!
And Tebow has the heart of a LION!!!
Between the broncos winning and and Dexter, Sundays are the best days of the week.
Glad to see that my post re: Goodman last night was right on … sometimes we (me) think we see something but no one else does, so we’re not sure if we’re really seeing what everyone else does … Fox’s comments on all three seem justified … our “3″ teams are sure coming together … whatever they’re doing on offense must be right – we’re winning games … just enough, and no mistakes … too many penalties, though …
I’m going to comment on something that I’ll probably take a lot of flack on, but I’m going to do it, just the same …
I think Jake Plummer was right on … frankly, I’m tired of Mr Tebow throwing his religion in our face … yesterday, when the Chargers were lining up for their “game winning” field goal, there he was, on his knee, praying for – WHAT?? … for them to miss?? … how arrogant … his professed faith should know better than that … it reminds me when I was in high school, playing basketball, and the Catholic kids would cross themselves before shooting a free throw … did they think “God” should choose them over me?? … that’s what I see here … I don’t care how humble and polite and nice the guy is – just keep it to yourself, TT …
Tebow can’t help it, he is a missionary first and a football player second.
Missionaries teach others that their religious belief is the right one and their mission in life is to convert you, and he is doing that every day of his life on and off the football field, and that will never change.
But I hear you loud and clear.
Wieman – I doubt that Tebow is arrogantly praying that the kick would miss, though, the doctrine of blessings and cursing based on the favoritism of the righteous is a solid Biblical idea.
Rather – If I were in Tebow’s shoes —I would be praying that my response to a win would transfer right and positive sentiment toward God…and that my response to a loss would not result in any reproach to God. I would bet that this is the idea behind Tebow’s praying.
OTOH – why is it ok to have beer – party – deviant lifestyles thrown in everyone’s face continually (via: advertising and sit com and education et al) – but a competing idea – just keep it to yourself…
If and only if – there is a real heaven and a real hell…
If and only if – there is a real way to avoid the bad place and arrive at the other.
Then and only then – it would be the worst kind of irresponsibility to remain silent on the subject.
It’s obvious that the pundits are out in full force. It always amazes me how right the Lord was when he said if you fallow me they(the world) would hate you, because first they hated me. Well there it is, if Tebow she topped in the middle of a game with a prayer rug pointed toward Mecca it probably wouldn’t make a byline. If he was lighting incense and praying to a cat, not even a peep,if he were rolling chicken bones trying to conjure a win y’all would show up at games with chicken bone necklaces…What person on this site never went into the bathroom and said Oh sweet Jesus please just one first down more? I certainly have, heck I go to church I give at the alter and I try to be a charitable person all these things but God hasn’t given me the gift of being able to read someones heart and I’m pretty sure he didn’t give y’all that gift either. I would be willing to bet that he wasn’t the only person saying a little prayer at the end of that game at home or in that stadium…Is it wrong to give thanks for a win? I don’t think so and did you see all the Jets players that came out to give praise to My Lord after that game? I bet that made you ill too. I loved it , seems to me the more this world goes to H$!! in a hat basket we (America) needs more of it and that’s why I will just say GOD BLESS AMERICA, GOD BLESS THE DENVER BRONCOS AND GOD BLESS TIM TEBOW AND ALL OF OUR GREAT PLAYERS NO MATTER WHAT GOD THEY PRAY TO.
And remember, if you don’t believe in something you will probably fall for anything.
Watching the Giants in N-O right now and the Saints fans have no problem with religion in their stands with all kind of people wearing Bishops outfits, LOL.
BTW – In Tebow’s case, he was raised to be a solid Christian but in many ways – he is not old enough nor does he have enough life experience to really be placed in the position of spokesman for the cause of Christianity. This is what bothers me – but it is the nature of our culture.
My Dad was raised Methodist and my mother was raised Catholic, but they raised me and my siblings to be neither. So…
I chose based on my own investigation of world views and what makes most sense to me. It has resulted in a great life for me.
My siblings – not so much.
Older sis – 5 kids and 35 years of marriage to a drunken philanderer. Has to watch for STD’s.
Me – Happily married for 25 years with 13 good kids.
Bro – Just divorced – three kids are a mess with drugs etc. Wife lives with another man.
Bro – been separated for 10 years – never sees daughter – wife lives with another man.
Bro – Just married for the 3rd time – his 4 kids being raised by grandpa.
Baby sis – just exited an 11 year same sex relationship with in-vetro daughter. Custody battles.
If it were just about living life well – Christian values are worth paying attention to.
It reminds me in my Bronco album I got a pic of myself with the Barrel man in the Superdome and a couple of the Bishops are in the background checking the Barrel man out, haha.
What ever happened to barrel man? He freeze to death? LOL
That didn’t sound right – not pleased if he froze – i just always thought he would.
He passed away last year.
What from?
You can make the reverse argument of Pascal’s Wager if you take into account all the pleasures that one might mistakenly forgo if Christian dogma isn’t true.
I’m pretty sure TT isn’t a virgin due to harsh circumstance.
That was in response to DB’s 6:47 post. I consider it a philosophical point, not a religious one.
Take anyone of those pleasures and it is simple to make the case that the pleasure are universally dangerous. God is not a cosmic killjoy – (ic – platitude) oh well…
Tebow might be a virgin, but he loves to fluff his gf’s hogan’s!!!
Daddyb, I’m afraid you’ll have to elaborate. I don’t follow.
Lol ot. True. I strongly suspect TT uses the term loosely.
Lung failure.
Tim McKernan was known for wearing a barrel, a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and not much else.
But it was enough to make him an icon at Denver Broncos games.
McKernan, better known as Barrel Man, died in his sleep Saturday morning of lung failure. He was 69.
The former mechanic for United Airlines began wearing a barrel in 1977 after making a $10 bet with his brother, Scott, that by wearing one during a Broncos game, he could get on television.
McKernan won the bet and the barrel he had painted to look like an Orange Crush soda can became his signature costume. It resulted in him becoming one of the Broncos’ most recognized fans.
Er, the opposite of loosely depending on how you look at it. w/e
daddybronc:
Tim “The Barrel Man” McKernan passed away as a result of lung failure due to pulmonary fibrosis.
Didn’t barrelman die a couple years ago?
We were able to say goodbye to him (barrel man) at the last game he attended in November 2009 vs the Chargers.
He actually died December 9, 2009 and we gave him a well deserved send off tribute on the blog. I met him in early 87 for the first time at the Giants SB, and got to talk to him again and shake his hand for that valuable pic of mine in December of 2000, a Bronco fixture that I will never forget.
Haha. Funny how famous that guy got based on a bet.
Did barrelman get to attend the superbowl victories?
That’s one of the problems with watching football via the net. I miss some of those things.
Can’t keep up with two blogs and a football game – done here folks. LOL
Of course he did, probably everyone of them including 1977. He was arguably the most famous recognized fan in all of football.
I know that. But superbowl tickets are uber expensive and hard to get.
A United airline mechanic travels for free and makes enough money for the ticket expenses I would think. Anyway that’s how come he was at almost every road game.
DaddyBronc, you might be the most real person on here. Bay you know more about the Broncos than any one I’ve read on here but the airs you put out…Man do you do anything else but look up facts about the Broncos? you must live by the stadium or something and that’s ok too. But if that’s what it is than the Denver Broncos are your God.
right on the nose crusharizona. it unbelievable how much tolerance is given to every religion but christian. cristians have become fair game. anybody can say anything.but man dont you dare say anything about muslims. athiests.mormons, catholics. just goes to show how far mankind has fallen. murder, rape.drug use, sodomy, are all exeptable.but dont u dare believe in something good,or you will be run out of town on a rail..well….get my rail ready…
broncos win…20 -14.
Even if they were I won’t discuss my personal religious beliefs here, LOL.
Tim Tebow is a Christian and Can play Football. His religion is his choice and he can display his faith because in America We have freedom. If you don’t want to watch you have freedom to turn your tv off. If you look at the morals he has its hard to hate on him. Christian or not i am sure the majority would rather have the kids have a life like his than those who curse, drink, and party the nfl dream away and some even kill themselves because of personal issues. But of course a Righteous man who stands by His Faith and says thanx to God is doing society an evil. Freedom is only pushed when someone mocks a muslim or other faith. I am a Christian but i think evryone should have freedom of religion.
