After a 41-23 loss to the New England Patriots, the Broncos’ attention has immediately turned to preparation for Buffalo on a short week.
Denver and Buffalo will meet Saturday, condensing the Broncos’ weekly schedule.
Yesterday’s defeat vs. the Patriots stung a team that had previously won six straight, but Head Coach John Fox is confident his team will put it behind them with two crucial weeks left in the regular season.
“Immediately after the game, obviously disappointment,” Fox said Monday of the mood in the locker room. “I didn’t think we played as well as we’re capable of and I think our opponent had a little bit to do with it. In this league you’ve got to have a short memory and we need to forget about it and move on to Buffalo.”
“We’ve said that after every game, win or lose, move on,” he added. “We’ve had a pretty resilient group and I don’t think that will be a problem going forward.”
PULLING OUT THE POSITIVES
In evaluating the film, Fox saw continued improvement from quarterback Tim Tebow.
Tebow rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns against New England but Fox was particularly impressed with Tebow’s ability to stand tall in the pocket and deliver the ball into tight windows on several occasions.
The Broncos’ fast start offensively was another strong point, as was the play of wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who finished with seven catches for 116 yards.
“I’ve been real impressed with him,” Fox said of Thomas. “We’ve got a young receiving corps. Eric Decker, the same thing with Demaryius. We’ve got a young quarterback. So, they’re all improving. They all have talent. That’s what you need to do in this league, is improve week to week. I like their development and we need to continue it this week.”
STILL IN CONTROL
Despite yesterday’s loss, Denver still holds a one-game lead in the AFC West division due to Oakland’s loss against Detroit.
The Broncos know that two wins to close out the regular season will allow them to claim the division title.
“Our guys understand that we control our own destiny,” Fox said.
The first step takes place Saturday in Buffalo.
“We just need to focus on the next game, the next step, the next day’s preparation,” Fox said. “Then you start thinking about other stuff, you’re not focused on what you should be doing. That will be the same approach tomorrow as it’s been since August.”

Go Broncos, yesterday dont mean sh*t.
Look foward and win the next one.
One game at a time.
I’m not concerned, the Broncos fired back hard after their last loss to Detroit and I expect nothing different this time. One more win and the playoffs are as good as ours!
Willis needs to play!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with bay…. this could be a way to give our o even a bigger push, fast and great hands. Why is he not in? i have nothing to say about our d besides secendary needs to get their heads out of their glutes, and coaches be more agressive with the blitz. no way any team can win without pressure on a qb like brady
collin cowherd is a loser. i hate that dork
he is one of those guys that couldnt wait to see denver lose so he could bash tebow.
What a strange year for the AFL West Division. Early in ther year it was SD and Raiders 4-1, Broncos and KC 1-4. Now there’s 2 games left and depending on who does what, ANY AFL West Division team can be division champ. ROFLMAO!!!!
The Broncos will win the division, no doubts there.
We are two games away from the playoffs….. I almost can’t believe it. I had hoped for a 10-6 season and if our starting secondary can stay healthy and play as a unit. We can do this!!!
Our problem right now is that we have no depth in the defense, except for Haggan at linebacker.
On offense, stay focused, run the ball and make no mistakes. We got this!!!!
Go Broncos!!!
It’s easy to finish with 7 catches when you are the only one thrown at, not belittling DMT at all just being sarcastic about the O play calling of the McCoy/Fox tandem.
Fox does have something right though, one day at a time, not even a game at a time, but one day at a time, preparation days are just as important as games.
Fox will make sure we are ready for Buffalo,he knows you can’t linger on yesterday!!!
Hey BFE, you got your first points of the competition, well done.
Thanks Bay,better late than never bro!
BFE, an hour ago I had 5 does in my backyard. Come on down and get some fresh meat. LOL
I had my doubts about Fox when he was hired and even early this season, but I am more than pleased with what he has done with this team. I love the run first offense and defense minded team. Excited about Bronco football here in Iowa! Broncos are the team of the future!
im nervous for that buff game?
Definitely a good loss for the Broncos to experience going into the playoffs.
A win over the Patriots may put the team into complacency mode and lose the playoffs.
If the team learnt the mistakes and work on weaknesses from this game, sky is the limit.
It’s good compliment the Patriots did not take on the Broncos lightly.
Well done Broncos, continue to BELIEVE!!!
Hey Bay – how did I do in the competition? …
I had Pats 38 – 24 … it was 41 – 23 … not too
far off …
please no repeat of 08 and 09
Wiemin, you won you dog!
