I would love to see Elway take over for Ellis or Xanders, either way we have a smart COO,or GM.

  2. milehighmagic88 says:

Joe Ellis said something to the effect of “If we have to pay 8 coaches that’s our problem, and that’s what we’ll do to get it right.”

After how this season has turned out, that was good to hear. It sounds like Bowlen can hang on to that title of best owner in sports. He’s showing he is willing to do whatever it takes to win.

It’s happy day in Bronco land.

I don’t agree with Dungy and Cowher not being interested in the job… Denver is one of the most successful franchises in NFL history. There are some real bright spots to work with as well…

    1) A young offensive line with two great tackles
2.) A young running back who is looking better and better every week
3.) A deep, talented receiving corp
4.) Our linebackers are good and young when healthy (Doom, Ayers, DJ)
5.) Youth in the secondary (Cox, Bruton, McBath, Thompson)
6.) A likely top 10 draft pick on the way

I could definitely see Dungy or Cowher looking at our team with more optimism than disinterest.

Let’s be real, a coaching position rarely turns up for a team that doesn’t have issues, but I don’t think we have THAT many holes to turn Dungy (rather have as GM) or Cowher away.

  4. Atwater4HOF says:

I love Kubiak but the D he has in Houston is worse off than ours… I don’t see Bowlen going after him.

  5. BeastFromEast92 says:

I could see Kubiak as OC and bringing Dennison as our Oline coach again.

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

I still have Gruden at the #1 spot on my list and Cowher #2.It’s just a wish list tho!

  7. Yovi21 says:

ok, so will someone please explain to me why Tebow isn’t going to get the nod???? I AM CONFUSED!!!! THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE! I’m worried that Tebow might not be panning out into who we thought he would be. :( bay cheer me up please haha

  8. strandoftds says:

I`d want Gruden. He loves Tebow.

  9. strandoftds says:

This was in the Denver Post today. A few years ago, Shanahan said this about Troy Calhoun. He is a great football coach and even a better human being. What a compliment.

  10. BeastFromEast92 says:

strandoftds….you need to read my 11:15 post.

  11. imready says:

Gruden was a “flash in the pan”, I don’t see him as the guy who knows how to build a winner. I believe Dungy has stated more than once he is not interested in a head coach position. Bill Cowher is experience, knows how to build a winner and wasn’t fired from his last job. He’d be the sure bet if Mr. Bolen wanted to afford him. I wouldn’t rule out Mike Nolan thought I don’t know if he could do it. I think Mr. B likes him, he came here and turned a shoddy defense into a decent one quickly. He was only head coach of one team from what I can remember. Most head coaches get don’t do well in there first shot at that job. He’d know more what not to do and would have to be hungry to prove himself. Back to work, Go Broncos!

  12. socalbigbroncofan says:

We need someone who could work with tebow. So all these coaches names don’t matter unless it goes with tebow. We all know and want him to start. That’s why gruden is being mentioned.and that’s who I vote for.

  13. strandoftds says:

    WOW!! ELWAY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!

  14. rjennings6 says:

I dont blame Studesville for our lack of a running game. that was all McDaniels and his Patriots Power Scheme. we dont have the line personel to run it. didnt anyone see that the last few games we ran Zone Blocking? I was surprised that i didnt see anyone comment on that. usually nothing gets by most of the people on this message board. and people can say what they want about Cutler, Marshall, and Sheffler….which i dont understand why everyone is hating on tony but oh well. I would rather have a ProBowl QB that is Confident maybe even sometimes a Jerk than Tebow who is a great guy but maybe not a good QB. Would you want to give up Elvis on the chance that we could turn a Punter into a LB?

  15. strandoftds says:

So Troy will stay As coach as AFA Falcons. I live 10 minutes from the Academy. 15 minutes from the AF stadium.

  16. BroncofaninATL says:

I also think Cowher would be a better coach than Gruden. I like Gruden, but like was stated before, all he did was take the team that Dungy made and won a SB.

As far as Tebow goes, he should be placed as a starter immediately and Orton 2nd. Orton just doesn’t have the composure to be a starter in the NFL. He has proven this before with the Bears. I couldn’t believe the Broncos actually picked him up. What he is is a very good 2nd string QB. Nothing to be ashamed of there. Tebow needs to get some reps. when winning and losing doesn’t really matter (these last 4 games). Do any of the Tebow haters actually believe that he is not an accurate passer? Tebow has been a winner in everything he has ever done. These are the reasons why Meyer recruited him in Florida.

This really is a win/win situation for the Broncos. I say this because now we have a golden opportunity to get some experience in throw-away games for your star QB, while evaluating/monitoring who you want to keep/replace on the defensive side of the ball.

  17. strandoftds says:

I wonder whats going to happen to McD`s Brother Brian now?

  18. strandoftds says:

    Start Tebow!!

  19. broncofan96 says:

thank you imready im glad you see it like me I think the only reason he won the superbowl is because of dungy after that year that team went to crap real fast

  20. baylinorcrush says:

McD’s official statement upon his firing:

“I am very grateful to Pat Bowlen and the Broncos’ organization for giving me the opportunity to be the Head Coach of such a proud franchise. I would like to thank all of the people who helped us over the last two years. I am especially appreciative of the efforts of every player, coach and member of the personnel department who worked so hard every day. I wish Pat Bowlen and the Broncos’ organization nothing but the best in the future.”

And he didn’t even thank us, the FANS!!! I feel terribly shortsighted…LOL.

  21. strandoftds says:

If the cardinals don`t start Anderson, it will be the rookie QB Skelton.

  22. caramelloo says:

I want to see the front office shored up before we get a coach. We need some type of chain of command in place where everyone has someone to eventually answer to. Some of these coaches names sound good on paper but we need someone who’s gonna team with our GM (Whoever they might be) and Bring back pride and Restore the magic back to our Orange and Blue.

  23. strandoftds says:

It looks like Ben McDaniels the QB coach is staying for now.

  24. BeastFromEast92 says:

Gruden took the Bucs to the playoffs twice after the Superbowl, and why couldn’t Dungy get them to the big show?
Gruden is a tough hard nosed coach, something I think we need, and I think he can get the job done!

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

strandoftds I think Mr.B will wait till the end of the season to clean house with the rest of the coaching staff, like a trial period to show what they can do with McD gone.

  26. strandoftds says:

How about Charley Chasserly Ex GM of Washington and Houston. He`s a mastermind GM.

  27. strandoftds says:

Ya. You really can`t do anything just yet as far as getting rid of the staff.

  28. BeastFromEast92 says:

We need a good GM that can evaluate talent, and knows what to do with them when he gets them, and a great drafter.I think if we had Gruden paired with a good GM,we’d be alright.

  29. strandoftds says:

I do really like Gruden. And he loves Timmy.

  30. BeastFromEast92 says:

    My 1st choice.

  31. strandoftds says:

This may seem a little off key but after all these years I wonder if the Bronco`s can bring in Wade Phillips for DC. He sucks as Hc but a great DC. Just a thought. Kind of crazy but it`s been years since Wade has been here. I wonder if it would work.

  32. strandoftds says:

I like Grudens fire and corrisma.

  33. strandoftds says:

one thing is for sure, i bet that Mr. Bowlen will go after a sure handed HC.

  34. lonewolf15 says:

A real head coach would get rid of Tebow and get a real Quarterback; all of you McDanials hater’s don’t seam to get it Tebow was one of the worst moves the guy made. What a waist of draft picks!

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Gruden won the SB for two reasons:

    1. He took over a fully Dungy built team.

    2. Tampa played the Raiders and he knew exactly what their QB was going to do on every play since he coached there before.

After that Gruden immediately became average, I don’t buy the greatness there, he is most certainly a great announcer but not a great HC as I remember it.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

Well, all the experts seem to be right when they said we would go about 4-12 this year even though most here said they were just stupid, so they may also be right when they said Tebow would never be a successful QB in this league??? That’s why we need to find out now, before the draft, and I hope Studesville will change his mind and start him soon.

  37. BeastFromEast92 says:

Why does everyone think Gruden can’t coach,he took over coaching the Raiders who finished 4-12 in ’97.When Gruden took over they finished 8-8 in both ’98 and ’99.In 2000 they finished 12-4,’01 they were 10-6.Then he took over the Bucs and finished 12-4 and won the Superbowl.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

I just explained it, he is adequate but only very favorable circumstances took him to the top, just my opinion of course.

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

After the Superbowl win, they changed GMs and lost Warren Sapp and John Lynch.

  40. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think we can agree there are a lot of potential HCs out there, and any one of them will be better than McD.

  41. oldsouthstander says:

Has any word been put out who’s replacing the two Broncos put on IR Monday?

  42. broncosfreak30 says:

I still love to see all of the Tebow haters get on the blogs and chew him out! I do not know why. I do not know if they got beat bad by Florida or what! But Tebow gave us a taste in the preseason of what he can do in the NFL! I know that he was up against second and third string defenses but everyone of his passes were dead on! His deep balls were perfect, even though they were dropped by a few bad receivers!! I mean good lord people, he came out of college with a 70% passer rating!!!!! What more could you really ask for? He’s also that quarterback that if no one is open, he will run and get the first down himself! He is definitely a Vick/Young type of quarterback! Haha, it seems like every left handed passer can always run so good, I do not know why! But Tebow will not lose, he has the passion of being a winner and not wanting to be a loser and will do anything in his power to win! He even had better stats in the preseason than any of the other rookie quarterbacks! Thing is too, you can say that he didn’t show anything in the preseason if you want to because he was in with back ups but look at it this way, he STILL got the ball out even though we had him behind two rookie offensive linemen with our center being J.D. Walton! Think about him being behind our starting offensive line and Moreno being there to help too!!

I will admit, I am worried about a few things with our team but QB is definitely something that I am not worried about!

We need proven veteran, but not too old, coaches, two great pass catching TE’s, a great CB, and some great defensive linemen!! That is all that I am worried about!

  43. BroncofaninATL says:

“A real head coach would get rid of Tebow and get a real Quarterback; all of you McDanials hater’s don’t seam to get it Tebow was one of the worst moves the guy made. What a waist of draft picks!”

First off, it’s “waste”, not ‘waist’. Please learn how to express yourself properly in English.

Secondly, how can any sane person say Tebow is a bad move when he has not even been given a chance to play? I’ve been watching NFL football for over 30 years and I cannot even begin to quantify how many times the ‘experts’ have been wrong.

  44. BeastFromEast92 says:

oss..I’d guess Haggan will move back inside to take Mays spot and Hunter will take Haggans spot outside,as for Gronkowski IDK,maybe the TE named Quinn will get a shot.

  45. BeastFromEast92 says:

Tebow has more will to win than any player I have ever seen, being a UT fan I watched him tear us up every year,I hated him, because he beat us,not because he couldn’t play,I think he will be a great Field General!

  46. broncosfreak30 says:

And I am also still sticking to wanting Gruden no matter what anyone says! He has the passion, excitement, and desire to win every game!! We have a lot of weapons here for him to use and basically have his favorite QB in Tebow! Gruden has shown great coaching skills in the NFL and he has plenty of experience. He has also had some time to sit out of football and commentate and see what other teams do and how they are so successful!! He has done nothing but added on to his football knowledge and he would be the perfect start to heading our team in the right direction! I mean, who can you say, hates Jon Gruden?? I can’t think of any names. And you know that the other critics and espn analysts are going to love him to because right now he is one of them and they all agree on a lot together! Gruden would have a great mission here in coming in as our head coach and showing the world what Tebow can do as a QB! He has Mcd’s passion and desire to win but has the experience and records and Superbowl to back it up!

I do not care what he did with Dungy’s team!! Look at it this way, we had the #1 offense in the league and McD came in and completely destroyed it! Gruden had the sense to recognize the talent that was there and go to the Superbowl! It wasn’t Dungy’s team because Dungy couldn’t win with them! Gruden came in and took them to the super bowl. I think that says a lot right there and just like I said above that he has only added more football knowledge to his resume since then!!

  47. broncosfreak30 says:

    Thank You BroncofaninATL…

Haha, I mean if some of these people are so die hard Bronco fans like they say they are, they will understand that just about NO ONE thought that Elway would be a good quarterback! Same with Rivers!

    Elway=HOF
Elway says Tebow will be a great QB!

That and all the traits and skills that Tebow has tells me that he is going to be great! I am just going with the odds here, anything can happen!

But I will say, it SOLELY DEPENDS on who we get as head coach! Obviously Tebow is our future, so we have to have a head coach come in here who believes in Tebow 100%!! If we do not, then it will never work out!! That’s why we need Jon Gruden!!!

  48. BeastFromEast92 says:

freak we do agree on something.LOL.

  49. broncosfreak30 says:

    BeastFromEast92…

I am glad that we both see eye to eye with Gruden! Just like I said, there are more people that are in favor for him being our head coach then him not being our coach! He is absolutely loved and wanted by all of the NFL and College Football! We would be stupid not to go to him first!!!

  50. BeastFromEast92 says:

Everybody forgets that Gruden took the Raiders from 4-12 to 12-4 in just 3 years, that’s coaching
