Bay…I think you hit the nail on the head bro!
    Orton,hopefully is done!

  2. baylinorcrush says:

So all you bloggers are all out here early today !?!?!?! What happens the rest of the year, you got nothing you want to say or you just made a point of being here for the special occasion? Just joshing you, it’s just so unbelievable, every morning of the year I’m here talking to myself with no one in sight…

  3. BeastFromEast92 says:

Bay…it’s snowing here, but in my eyes the sun is shining brighter than it has in a long time, now finally these chains are broken.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

And I probably couldn’t say it much better than Woody no matter how many words I used:

The sordid McDaniels Matter was terminated Monday.

Lou Saban couldn’t survive the “Half-a-Loaf” label. John Ralston couldn’t survive a players revolt. Red Miller couldn’t survive a change in ownership. Dan Reeves couldn’t survive his deteriorating relationship with John Elway and the failure to win a Super Bowl. Wade Phillips couldn’t survive the team’s mediocrity and the availability of Mike Shanahan. Shanahan couldn’t survive the post-Elway failures and a season-ending 52-21 blowout against the Chargers.

Josh McDaniels couldn’t survive the myriad trials, tribulations and troubles that far exceeded six of his predecessors.

The franchise had lost more than games and players, more than the loyalty of fans and their own staff, more than revenue and goodwill.

Trust and respect, faith and belief, confidence and conviction, the legacy of the team has been lost in this dreadful season.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

BFE, like I said earlier, it truly couldn’t be a more beautiful morning here, just a true mirror of how I feel inside, perfectly at peace in a perfect setting, life is good again.

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

Anyone think Elway might get a shot at becoming a part of the organization, since he wanted to buy his own team, and didn’t work out,I think he would be interested in getting involved in some way.

  7. BeastFromEast92 says:

Like the Zack Brown song:Life is good today, life is good today.LOL.

  8. baylinorcrush says:

Like I keep saying, at this point the only thing I’m interested in is Bowlen hiring a legitimate GM, and Elway is not that, everything else will fall into place after that.

  9. baylinorcrush says:

You gotta lay the foundation (GM) before you can put the supporting beams up (coaches). Elementary business procedure dear Watson, LOL.

  10. BeastFromEast92 says:

Agreed,Elway says he is not GM material, but wants to be part of the panel that decides on who the new GM is,I can live with that.

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

Parcels name is being mentioned, but IDK if he’s interested or not.

  12. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think MR.B won’t let any HC have as much power as McD had ever again,he knows now it was a huge mistake.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

Parcells as a GM would be great but not as a HC since his tough hard nose approach with the players is pretty much outdated this day and age, and Dungy as a GM maybe as he has said multiple times he wasn’t interested at coaching again.

  14. BeastFromEast92 says:

Parcels or Dungy either one would be a great GM.

  15. BeastFromEast92 says:

Elway and Bowlen were seen Monday night at Elways steak house, and Michael Lombardi tweeted that Elway is expected to be offered a front office job, hopefully CEO.

  16. BeastFromEast92 says:

Top-5 Candidates for the Denver Broncos Head Coaching job

Troy Calhoun—Air Force’s head man that is one of the frontrunners for the Broncos head coaching job. His move from Colorado Springs to Denver would be about an hour long drive.

Leslie Frazier—Was put in charge of the Minnesota Vikings and will likely keep the job if he’s offered it. But, if offered the Broncos job as well, would he think about it?

Gary Kubiak—“Kubee” was once drafted in the mid-90s as Elway’s replacement at the quarterback position. Then, he was Mike Shanahan’s understudy and the offensive coordinator through the Super Bowl years and was actually calling the plays the last time the Broncos were good, in 2005.

John Gruden—Gruden has demonstrated he still knows NFL football very well by his wonderful commentary on MNF. What adds intrigue is that he’s a defensive based coach (the direction that many argued the Broncos should have gone instead of hiring McDaniels) and he is all buddy buddy with Tebow (as seen by “Gruden’s QB camp” in the preseason.

Bill Cowher—Cowher is arguably one of the best coaches of all time. His intensity is unmatchable (McDaniels-like when he took the printout of a play and pushed it into the head referee’s pocket) but he also has the experience of winning a Super Bowl and being a head coach for a long time in the “Not For Long.”

  17. baylinorcrush says:

As far as coaching the GM will decide but I would imagine Frazier might have a leg up with Bowlen since he was the runner up to McD last year, just rambling here. Cowher, it took him 14 years to get it done with what can be regarded as the top organization in football, and Gruden just succeeded with Dungy’s left over and that was that, no ideal candidate in these two from where I stand, even so the masses seem in love with one or the other.

  18. Lalee says:

Now’s the time to get Tebow some experience. Our season isn’t going anywhere this year so let him show us what he was hired for.

  19. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Bleacher Report:

While there was immediate speculation on NFL Network that Gary Kubiak will be soon fired, and that he will be offered the Broncos’ head coaching decision—what if Calhoun were to become the head man only to bring “Kubee” back to Denver as the OC?

Think about it, Calhoun’s “triple option offense” with Tim Tebow under center and Knowshon Moreno as the main running back? He’s already led Air Force to the No. 1 rushing attack in the nation of NCAA football, what could it do in the NFL?

Plus, he and Kubiak could work on schemes to blend in some of “Kubee’s” old offense that included great use of zone blocking, play-action passing and utilizing the deep vertical game.

  20. baylinorcrush says:

Elway can’t be CEO, it’s Bowlen’s title, LOL. Chief Executive Officer.

Now he could replace Ellis as COO. Chief Operating Officer.

    Totally different jobs.

  21. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Oh OK,COO that would work.LOL

  22. baylinorcrush says:

Calhoun was actually an offensive assistant for Shanny back here in 2005, our only real good year this century, then he followed Kubiak to Houston.

  23. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Yeah it’s true.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

    Other names mentioned:

Ron Rivera, DC of the Chargers

Perry Fewell, DC of the Giants

But it’s so irrelevant since we need to hire the GM first and he will go his way…

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

Calhoun was high on Bowlens list when he hired McD too,but not as high as Fraziers,I think Frazier will stay on with the Vikings and Calhoun or Kubiak wil be the next HC of the Denver Broncos.I just hope we hire a good DC.

  26. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah I mentioned Fewell’s name earlier.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

Anyhow, FANTASTIC DAY FOR US FANS!!! Gotta go buddy, later.

  28. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think Bowlen and Elway want to bring in somebody with experience with the Broncos,a players HC,that’s why I think it will be Calhoun or Kubee.

  29. BeastFromEast92 says:

    later.

  30. rebelbronco says:

Best day ever!! Merry Christmas Broncos Country. I’m so excited about the last four games. Eventhough they mean nothing, I will cook my wings, drink my beer, and be excited to watch us play for the first time in a long time. Can’t wait to put my gear on this Sunday and not have to live through another game with McIdiot calling plays on the sideline.

Start Tebow, hire good GM, then hire good experienced HC and coordinators, trade Orton for draft picks, draft Defense. In that order please!

  31. caramelloo says:

Man I feel sooooo good today! You would think we just won the Monday night game 45-3 last night. I can’t wait to watch this Sunday’s game!!

  32. 2fat2fish says:

how about Jim Harbaugh from Stanford?

  33. killerkod says:

Well Bay, it wasn’t Monday morning, but it was Monday evening and it could’ve come sooner.

I hope the organization really takes a step back and thoroughly evaluates the talent we currently have, and weed out those who aren’t cutting the mustard. IMO, we have a lot of those players on our current roster. See what we need and fill that void in the off-season via the draft and free agency/trade.

Let’s get this ship moving in the right direction and once again become a force in the AFC. And most importantly, let’s get an identity to carry forward for years to come!

I also haven’t said this yet so far this year, but I agree with a lot of fans……it’s Tebow time! We need to see what this guy has in real game situations.

I believe all the players should look at playing out the last 4 games as if their jobs depended on it…..cause essentially, I think they’re all on the line.

  34. footballMANIAC says:

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! The Broncos are moving in the right direction!
23-17 Broncos this weekend. Sign Champ, and get a real draft pick!

  35. Orange_Crusher says:

bay, I disagree. I think Elway would make an excellent choice for GM.

He’s got GM experience with the Crush and his father was a fantastic tallent evaluator. He already is the face of the franchise with respect, integrity and trust of the fans. We can’t go wrong with the Duke!

I cast my vote in now for JE as GM!!!!!!

    I wouldn’t even mind JE as HC….

I LOVE ME SOME JOHN ELWAY!!!!!

  36. Broncfalls says:

I’m sure most of you are aware of this heck, I think I might have even read it from previous bloggers. But….it appears that Kubiak is indeed the front runner is Houston let’s him go. Also, I love the fact that NFL.com is reporting that Bowlen and Elway were seen at the steak house.

O.C., I agree with you 100% Elway is what he is LOL! He needs to be entangled within the organization at some capacity. And…as you eluded too, let’s get the guy some power. With his beloved status with the Broncos and John’s passion for the organization, you can bet nothing in the form of unprofessionalism, anit-trust, poor personal decisions won’t be tolerated!

No matter how you look at it, it’s a new and exciting chapter about to be written in Denver! There are allot of great story lines and the fact that Mr. Elway is and appears to be involved is a great sign for what is and always will be one of the greatest sports organizations in the world!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  37. Orange_Crusher says:

Before we hire a GM, we need to fire one…

  38. milehighmagic88 says:

I didn’t really like the idea of Kubiak or Calhoun at first, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. As long as a legit GM is hired first to make the personnel decisions, and as long as a legit DC is brought in, I don’t see any reason why either of those wouldn’t be successful. Plus, they’d basically be bringing back the old Denver Broncos style, which many of the fans would love to see.

  39. casinoroyal19 says:

It feels good to know that we will have a high draft pick this year that probably wont be wasted now

  40. CurtOU says:

Our GM hasn’t been fired, there isn’t an opening.

  41. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah, but I’m sure he will be.

  42. broncosfreak30 says:

yea i agree on all of those other guys for head coaches but I just believe that we should ask Gruden first about the position! You have to remember, he is in retirement and has turned every head coach position down, but he would use Tebow to his greatest ability and those two together just click!! Plus, Gruden is a great QB coach and Tebow is still developing!!

    Gruden for HC
    Kubiac for OC
    Nolan for DC

Am I dreaming just a little bit?? Haha

  43. BeastFromEast92 says:

If Mr.B and Elway are in talks about a front office job, hopefully there will be a vacant GM position soon, not saying it will be Elway, but maybe they will decide that Xanders is partly to blame for our demise, and let him go too.

  44. BeastFromEast92 says:

freak…I like that scenerio, but it would be hard to get Nolan back, going from one team to another without a promotion wouldn’t be a step up.

I would definitely like to see Kubiak back, whether it be HC or OC.
He would bring with him what he learned from Shanny and Elway, and maybe Dennison(the best Oline coach in the game) would come with him back to the Broncos, where he belongs!!!!!!!!

  45. Orange_Crusher says:

Xanders had to have his hands all over the contracts and bad tallent evaluation right along with McD.

I think we should dismiss Xanders along with the rest of the tallent evaluation department. jomho

    ILMSDB!

  46. CurtOU says:

Here are my thoughts on the new head coach. Although, everyone is correct with needing a GM first and having him choose the Head Coach.

I like the Gruden idea, I live in Tampa and I liked the way he handles players and he is tough. Obviously a great football mind. Here in Tampa the Glazers didn’t spend any money the last three or four years on free agents because they were in debt, so he always had an empty cupboard.

Brian Billick is a great choice. Tough guy, superduper football smart. Good with players. Won a title.

My sneaky choice would be Jim Fassel. If Elway became part of the organization, I could see this becoming even more popular. He worked with Elway in Stanford, and was an assistant coach in Denver. He has coahced the UFL the last two years and won the title both years. He’s a players coach and is obviously still into it and a smart dude.

Just wanted to throw those names out there, there are more choices then just Coordinators and Cowher, Dungy, and Gruden.

  47. BeastFromEast92 says:

Just to let you guys know,Elway said he would like to be part of the group of people that could select the new GM,so that leads me to believe that Xanders will be released.

  48. oldsouthstander says:

And the Broncos new HC is:
Cowher: Not a chance he’ll want the job
    Dungy: Ditto
Kubiak: Couldn’t hack in in 5 years a Houston. Why hire someone who showed he couldn’t get the job done? As Spock would say, “this is not logical.”.
Brian Billick (sp?): Definitely defensive minded
Gruden: took over two good teams and won with them briefly. Both went rapidly downhill under his comand. All talk, no performance. BAAADDDDDDD choice.

    Current DC candidates:
George Evans with Bills. 13 years experience. Five as Bills DC
MIke Nolan with Dolphins: Showed what he can do with Broncos once already. Has HC expereience.
Mike Pettine from Jets: Rex Ryan calls him a rising star.
Bob Ryan from Browns: Excellent pettigree.
Jim Haslett Redskins: HC and DC experience.
Rod Marinelli from Bears: Well deserved reputation as excellent DC.
Don Capers from Packers: Good HC and DC.
Greg Williams from Saints: Excellent DC and was interim HC with Bills.
Ron Rivera from SD: Excellent DC
Greg Manuskyfrom 49ers: Young but doing a good job.

    My top 5:
    1) Mike Nolan
    2) Ron Rivera
    3) Rod Marinelli
    4) Rob Ryan
    5) Greg Williams

  49. BeastFromEast92 says:

It has been said that Elway might be helping the new HC with drafting and roster decisions, sounds like a GMs job to me:

According to Denver Post writer Mike Klis, “A few hours after firing McDaniels, Bowlen and his wife were spotted dining with legendary Broncos quarterback John Elway and his wife at Elway’s Cherry Creek steakhouse. Elway has not hidden his desire to join the team in an executive consultant role. It’s possible the Broncos will eventually hire a front-office executive who will at least equally share authority with the head coach on draft and roster decisions.”
