The Broncos were lively and upbeat during Wednesday morning’s practice as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks Saturday evening. At various points throughout practice players were joking with each other, congratulating teammates and even giving coaches chest bumps.
ROLL CALL
Linebacker Mario Haggan (shoulder), defensive tackle Marcus Thomas (pectoral) and safety David Bruton (concussion) sat out practice again.
Defensive Tackle Ty Warren (triceps) had surgery Tuesday and Head Coach John Fox said it was successful.

PLAYMAKERS
Receiver Eric Decker caught a 7-yard touchdown from quarterback Kyle Orton that was actually intended for running back Knowshon Moreno. The ball tipped off Moreno’s hands and Decker was waiting a few yards behind him to catch the touchdown.
Other than Decker’s touchdown, the defense dominated the first team session, which consisted of a dozen or so snaps from inside the 10-yard line. Cornerback Champ Bailey and safety Darcel McBath both had interceptions.
Receiver Britt Davis did have a nice leaping grab though in the back of the end zone on a ball thrown by Brady Quinn.
In the second team session, Orton connected on nice passes to his other receivers, Eddie Royal and Brandon Lloyd. Orton hit Royal with a perfect throw 20 yards down the hash marks over his shoulder, and zipped a similar length throw to Lloyd along the sideline.
Quarterback Adam Weber provided one of the highlights of the day, throwing a 50-yard bomb to receiver D’Andre Goodwin in double coverage for the touchdown.
TWO MINUTE DRILL
The team spent the last team session working on the two minute drill. The offense got the ball with 1:30 left on the clock, one timeout and the ball on their own 40-yard line in a tied game 21-21.
Orton was up first and found tight end Daniel Fells three times and running back Knowshon Moreno once more to set up a field goal. Matt Prater kicked the 54-yarder, which ricocheted off the top of the left post through the uprights. Overall, Orton was 4-for-5 for 23 yards.
Tim Tebow took command of the second team. He started with a 15-yard scramble out of bounds and then found receiver Matt Willis for 8 yards after an incompletion on the previous play. Tebow then took a couple of more runs before using his timeout. Steven Hauschka came on to kick a 47-yard field goal but missed.
QUICK HITS
Former Broncos safety John Lynch attended practice.
The team practiced a few end-of-game plays that would only be run in extreme situations.
For the second straight day, the non-special teams players did sprints during the last session of practice. The vibe was much lighter today as players playfully chided one another.
Cornerback Cassius Vaughn had a nice diving pass breakup during one of the team sessions.
Willis made a Ninja Warrior-like catch, tipping the ball to himself as he caught it 5-yards later in stride.
Fullback Austin Sylvester received some first-team reps during a 9-on-9 run-only scrimmage. Running back Jeremiah Johnson had a big run during that session and C.J. Gable received some praise as well.
Tight end Julius Thomas put a triple move on safety Rahim Moore for a 20-yard touchdown catch during one-on-one drills. Also in the same drill, Fells made a great catch with safety Brian Dawkins draped all over him and afterwards Dawkins shook his head and gave Fells a high-five.
During individual drills, the wide receivers would run 5 yards at Wide Receivers Coach Tyke Tolbert, plant and turn so their back is to him, and then try to feel which way he was leaning so they could go the opposite way. Tolbert faked a few players out, and after the last one, players cheered him and Lloyd gave him a chest bump.

It’s funny. How many people come to the rescue of Timmy when he gets bashed.
I swear Orton us this decades version of Rodney Dangerfield- gettin no repect… Cause how many people bash him. Compared to those who stick up for him. It kind of an eye opener.
No wonder the players don’t care about the “fans” anymore…
difference is everyone bashes TT … only select broncos fans bash Orton …a nd it really cant be called bashign cuz most of the time what is said about orton is true. But thats why u are here sndvl … to balance things out. It was the whole team yes.

I’m going to wait until the regular season before I say anything about Orton. I’m sure I will have plenty to say. I want to see what he does in the red zone. Moore should have never been fined 20,000 or 50,000 (I’ve heard both amounts.) He clearly lead with his should. Goodell is going to ruin this game with all the stupid rules he’s coming up with. Football is a job for these players & is no more dangerous than being a police officer, fire fighter, coal miner or anyother dangerous job. This is the job they have chosen so let them play football like it should be played. If it keeps going the way it is it will soon be NFFL. (National Flag Football League.)
Longest blog I’ve ever had. I’m just irritated of what Goodell is doing to the League.
Gosh, now sndvl flies off the handle, nobody ever blamed Orton for that loss, he just happened to be the leader of the team that got demolished in that game in what was arguably the worst loss of our franchise history, a hard thing to overcome. If I didn’t know any better I would swear that you are Orton’s sis, LOL.
I remember specifically pointing out that our hurt Defense during Black Sunday was the biggest contributor to the atrocity.
