For the second day in a row, the Broncos practiced in shorts, shells and helmets. Tuesday marked the first time since his signing that safety Jim Leonhard has participated, as Leonhard has been working his way back from a knee injury.
ROLL CALL
While Leonhard took part in practice, a number of players did not. Defensive end Jason Hunter (triceps), guard Chris Kuper (forearm), defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson (concussion), linebacker Keith Brooking (hamstring), wide receiver Andre Caldwell (rib), linebacker Nate Irving (rib), linebacker Mike Mohamed (hamstring) and wide receiver Tyler Grisham (knee).
Head Coach John Fox also announced that the team waived cornerback Joshua Moore, and Leonhard was officially taken off the PUP list. On Tuesday, cornerback Omar Bolden donned No. 31, Moore’s old number.
PLAYMAKERS
- Wide receiver Eric Decker came up with a nice catch deep down the sideline, making the reception with cornerback Champ Bailey in coverage.
- Bailey came up with an interception of a pass intended for wide receiver Greg Orton, tipping the ball in the air and catching it while running stride for stride with Orton deep down the sideline.
- The longest pass of the day came on a flea flicker. After handing off the football and having it thrown back to him, quarterback Adam Weber found wide receiver Jason Hill open deep down the sideline for an easy touchdown.
- Early in the practice, wide receiver Mark Dell came up with a nice catch deep down the middle of the field.
- During team drills, cornerback Tracy Porter was able to get a hand on a pass intended for wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, but Thomas was still able to make the catch off the deflection.
- Defensive tackle Sealver Siliga broke through the offensive line for a ‘sack’ during a team drill.
QUICK HITS
- Former Broncos wide receivers Vance Johnson and Mark Jackson both attended Tuesday’s practice. Johnson and Jackson, along with Ricky Nattiel, made up the Broncos’ “Three Amigos,” a trio of pass catchers that stood out for Denver during the 1980s and 1990s. Johnson said he was impressed with what he saw watching Manning in person.
“(Owner) Pat Bowlen actually asked us to get suited up and come out here and get a tryout, but he asked us to sign a waiver first and I wasn’t willing to do that,” Johnson laughed.
- For the second day in a row, quarterback Peyton Manning worked separately with rookie running back Ronnie Hillman, this time with Manning walking through end zone routes, slowly demonstrating how and when to cut. In addition to working with Hillman one-on-one, Manning got some extra work in with tight end Jacob Tamme and wide receiver Brandon Stokley.

Regular season football is officially just 2 weeks away! That Giants/Cowboys game will be a great one to start off the season………..then it’s just a matter of days before our Broncos kick the crap out of the Steelers! WHOOP!
Kod, after watching the Colts play the steelers… PFM is going to carve them up and spit them out. Meatcutters unite!
I just hope our D is ready for Big Ben………….he always seems to be able to make plays against us. That guy is so hard to take down. I don’t think Wallace will be much of a factor as he’ll still be shaking off the rust.
heading for lunch……….catch ya in a bit.
K… true though. We really struggled to contain him in that playoffs game. And he was even hurt!
Kod how many hours are you ahead of me?
smh at Skip Bayless… Kobe Bryant is over paid apparently even though all he does is won. Comparing him to Tebow does not make sense. At all. And I don’t like Kobe. What the heck? Why do I watch this show?
hey cat……….I think I’m 3.5 hrs ahead………..because we’re on an island, we’re an extra half hour ahead of Atlantic Time.
Marcus Wiley has the chargers and the raiders making the playoffs and the broncos out………..laughable at best.
How the heck!? KC has a better chance Imo!
LMAO………since when have we been called the Bronkers?
I just watched an interview with Dennis Allen, and a US olympian was on who had a question for Allen and said she loves the Bronkers/Raiders rivalry…………how do you stop Peyton Manning…………at least she didn’t call him Peyton Munning!!!
hahahahaha
They Always say the Chargers are going to the playoffs nothing new there
yeah DO, and they’ll prob keep saying it after rivers has thrown 25 INTS
that interview was on NFL am……….btw.
GO BRONKERS!!!!
Probably a long shot but how about McGahee/draft pick or 2 for MJD?
pdp……..I don’t think MJD is going anywhere, and neither is McG.
Bronkers? Really?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1307060-denver-broncos-why-trading-for-mjd-is-a-realistic-and-logical-move-for-denver
Kod, I don’t know. I know NFL.com is reporting otherwise, but it seems to still be out there.
The Patriots of course are another team I’m hearing quite a bit about with this MJD thing, the Lions also. Will be interesting to see if anything comes from it.
UGH! I read that article and realize we’re going to pay Knowshon $4 million this year for doing NOTHING!? I don’t know why, but thinking of paying Os money for doing nothing is way different for me…
Cat he isnt making 4 mil this year. That is wrong. Way off. Its just over 1 mil hes getting paid this year. The numbers in that article arnt even close to what Morenos contract actually is. He signed a 5 year 23 mil deal with 13 guaranteed. Dont know where the 16 mil came from.
Ok, thanks AB.

Chris Harris Matthew Willis Lance Ball and Knowhon Moreno + a 3rd round pick for MJD
Maybe we can even get DJ in there…..
That is of course MJD is going to be traded and if we are actually interested in him.
I’m okay with DJ Matthew Willis Lance Ball Moreno
I don’t want Chris Harris to go anywhere.
Alaska What happened to your Twitter account?
Chris Harris is way to valuable and cheap no way we cut ties with him
