Broncos kicker Matt Prater gives Denver some breathing room, putting Denver up 10-0 on a 38-yard field goal with 7:46 left in the second quarter. It was Prater’s 35th consecutive made field goal from inside 40 yards. His previous 34 successful tries was the third-longest current streak in the NFL coming into the game.
The Broncos ran eight plays for 34 yards on the scoring drive, with all those yards coming on the ground. Denver now has 135 rushing yards on 22 attempts, good for a 6.1 yards-per-carry average, and Tebow has attempted only one pass, which fell incomplete.
That scoring drive lasted 4:32 on the game clock, but was much longer as there were several timeouts taken on the field, giving the Broncos defense some quality rest.
