The team announced on Friday that rookie defensive tackle Carlton Powell was placed on the active/ physically unable to perform list after suffering an injury to his right Achilles’ tendon during offseason workouts.
Powell was selected by the Broncos in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech.

Well, crap. He was one of the few people we drafted this year who didn’t have any significant injury concerns. That’s a bad start.
What did he do to his achilles? Did he rupture is? If so hes done for the year.

Coach Shanahan said in his press conference after day one that, “his Achilles popped in the offseason conditioning program, and he’s obviously out for the year.”
