The Broncos closed out their final practice before hosting the Dallas Cowboys for two-straight days of joint practices here at Dove Valley. Here are the highlights from this afternoon’s special team’s only session.
ATTENDANCE REPORT: After seeing action during this morning’s session Peyton Hillis and Chad Mustard were out of uniform joining teammate Louis Green on the sidelines.

POSTURING FOR POSITION: Eddie Royal, Glenn Martinez, Anthony Alridge, Andre Hall, Clifford Russell and Michael Pittman lined up at returner as the team worked on kickoff coverage.
Sam Paulescu and Matt Prater each kicked off during practice. Prater had seen all the kickoff reps thus far in camp.

FOCAL POINTS: The team worked on its kickoff coverages and schemes for a majority of practice. Special Teams Coordinator Scott O’Brien would yell coverages to the players and at times would walk specific units through their respective assignments after the play.

The team worked its coveage of both deep and squib kicks.

TAKE AWAYS: Prater’s kickoffs were impressive once again. Prater — kicking from the 35-yard line — was able to launch all of his kicks out of the back of the endzone with two ending up in the trees that line the south perimeter of the the practice field.
Paulescu — also kicking from the 35 — showed that he has a boot of his own, with his shortest kick landing deep in the endzone and like Prater he was able to land one in the foliage.

SIDE NOTE: The Broncos held their annual training camp bowling tournament last night. Just as they did in June, the coaches and staff came out victorious earning their title as 2008 Broncos Bowl-O-Rama Champions.
That is all from day 16 of training camp check in to the blog tomorrow for a recap of all the action as the Cowboys come to town.
