Quarterback Brock Osweiler stands 6-feet-7-inches tall.
The Broncos just want to make sure he plays that tall.
Osweiler spent the past few months working on his delivery and footwork, making sure his throwing motion is ready for NFL action.
“The main thing is getting my elbow raised up,” he explained. “A lot of times in college, my elbow would drop below my shoulder, if you will. When you do that, you lose velocity, you lose accuracy, you’re less consistent with your throws. We basically made a huge point to bring that elbow up to a more traditional throwing motion and get it above my shoulder.”
“Now the biggest thing is to transition those training sessions out here to the practice field.”
After one day of practice, Head Coach John Fox said he has noticed Osweiler is starting to do just that.
“He has to use his height advantage a little bit better with that higher delivery,” he explained. “He’s an accurate passer and I think he became more accurate.”
Osweiler said he already feels “very comfortable” with the new throwing motion, and noticed an uptick in his accuracy — “where I was trying to put the ball, for the most part, the ball ended up there.”
The quarterback said he’ll keep building on that progress, not only throughout this rookie minicamp, but as long as it takes until it’s second nature.
“As a quarterback, you can always get better, you can always improve upon what you do and your skill-set,” he said. “So yes, of course I’ll be working on it the next two-to-three months a lot. But probably the next two-to-three years as well.”
But even with so much on his plate, Osweiler said his first NFL practice wasn’t overwhelming.
“It was fun, to be honest.” he said. “It was a lot of fun. When you first get that playbook, you’re seeing all these different formations and pass concepts and runs and protections. To finally get out there on the field and kind of put it all together – I thought we did a pretty good job on offense and I had a lot of fun out there today.”

Doom played 260 last season hes now at 250. Expect that to be his weight during the season.
LT is 95% sure hes going to retire. He was one of the best to ever play.
Well, it takes money to make money.. Let’s hope that saying holds true with us signing Manning!
Lol OT!
wait. turtle you do know you just took shots at bfe while he wasnt here, the premise of your whole problem with his actions. bfe is a cool dude and didnt mean anything overly harsh by it. i’ve been posting with him a loooonnnnggg time and he is very consistent, and not out to get anybody. just let that one go man….
now the lakers? i too hope they lose!! sorry bfe and ab but i cant stand em. i was raised in san antionio, tx (moved to Louisiana when i was 15) and was a HUGE spurs fan. i had all kinds of david robinson stuff in my room growing up. he and sean elliot were my favorite players in the late 80′s and 90′s. had alotta fun with friends and spurs games growing up. i dont watch it nearly like i did as a kid and teenager. but still follow the spurs. wouldnt you know they sucked when i was a big fan and as i pulled away from bball they became one of the better teams in the league for 10 years.
Lol LBF thats how it is! Duncun Parker and Ginobli still balling hard with their age. Top 20 players in the NBA for each of them!
But…..Its a Lakers win tonight. Metta World Peace is going to be big help on both sides. Hes going to be fresh. Gasol and Bynum wont play weak like they have been either. Lakers win it by 10+ points.
wow. 10+ points you are confident. but if i had to place $ i’m not sure i’d put it on the nuggets. now if i was getting 10 points i’d be all for it. i say nuggets pull it out by 4. game wont break 100 for either team. i may watch that game, will be excitiing.
Here we go. Ill bet 100$ that the team with the most points wins! Book it!!!!
McCoy on Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas working with Peyton Manning: “They’re like two kids in a candy store
I bet!!!! Lol
ok i’ll take the team with the least points loses then. $100 it is!!
LOL LBF!!!!
Ill bet 10$ we have a new blog i no more than a hour lol
i dunno they tend to let one blog go forever and then put about 8 blogs in a 2 day span. dont know what the deal with that is.
LBF I say that because the staff is meeting in front of the media as we speak so after they are done they will post a new blog like they normally do.
gotcha. your right.
To be clear, the Broncos haven’t changed their playbook because they changed quarterbacks from huddle-up, option-heavy Tim Tebow to at-the-line, pass-heavy Peyton Manning. It’s just that a few pages in the playbook will be used more this year, and some pages will be used less, if not discarded completely. “”Without a doubt,” said offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. “”The zone read is no longer here.’’
I wonder how true that actually is.
BFE, sorry I didn`t get on last night. I got caught up in Angels Rangers game. My Angels got Waxed Cold last night, OUCH!!
Yall had loads of fun without me last night. I would`ve been better off where the action was. LOL
Lol How goes it Strand? Pujols has been kinda a bust for the Angels hasnt he?
What up strand?
Turtle as far as betting against the Broncos,I think it’s not right,so I’ll have nothing to do with it,if you don’t wanna bet on the Lakers/Nuggets game, that’s cool.I guess I deserved what you said today,I go overboard sometimes, but don’t mean too bro, hope you don’t take it personal,I was just funnin’.
BFE
AB, he has. Its just a bad slump though. Albert will get it turned around.
Gotta hope so. Especially with the money they shoveled out for him….at least he didnt miss last season eh?
LOL
Pujols is the TT of Baseball – He needs these slumps – But he is ok and he will be back. Angels are my team too Strand – I like Pujols being with us!!!
Thanks BFE for keeping me in the debate last night.
Have a great day!
God Bless!!!

Bolden: “There’s no better situation to come in than to be in my shoes, learn from Champ Bailey, (Tracy) Porter and (Drayton) Florence.”
