The Broncos training staff is raking in the awards this offseason.
In addition to Head Athletic Trainer Steve “Greek” Antonopulos receiving the Fain-Cain Award, as announced yesterday, Assistant Athletic Trainer Corey Oshikoya (above, right) was named the AFC Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Pro Football Athletic Trainers Society.
Oshikoya is the inaugural recipient of the honor, which recognizes one assistant athletic trainer form each conference.
The award is named after Tim Davey, a 33-year NFL veteran employee who worked as an athletic trainer for the New York Jets and in the league’s game operations department before his passing in 2010.

I wonder if Bryan Dawkins will survive the cuts.
You read it first right here! first pick: DT Nick Fairley from Auburn, the second we get DT Phil Taylor from Baylor, next second we get S Shili Keo from Idaho and with the third pick on day two we get ILB from Illnois Martez Wilson. Yes, finally we have back a Wilson at ILB. And with that the Broncos add 1,094LBS to the defensive side of the rock.
Good work, JohnJohn ElFoxWay.
Go Broncos!!!
Wearemr, I really like that Safety from Idaho myself. He`s a big dude. His weight is bigger than what the NFL combine was saying.
Steve Atwater ran a 4.7. Plus Keo just has that Pitts #43 written all over him.
Go Broncos!!!
Al Wilson was one of the most intimidating mlb to ever play the game. Al Wilson’s knee injury was the beginning of Denver’s defensive downfall.
The Safety Antogwe just signed a 5 year deal with the Skins.
Congrats to another bronco getting an award.
Dawk will probably say. We lost Atogwe. Only credit I would give McD was that he was agressive when it came to FA (for the most part). Shanny couldnt land us a good safety but clearly he can land the redskins one. Maybe Atogwe just aint wanna be a bronco. Will never know.
Safety draft is week this year. Not even worth drafting in my opinion. With minimal picks and alot of NEEDs. I just cant justify spending one on a safety.
My hope is still for Peterson, Paea, Gregg Jones if its possible. Heck if we can find a way to still kyle rudolph (which I doubt, im all for it) but those are my faves for our first 3 picks.
TRB out…

Just some fun watching on Stephen Paea DT from Oregon. 6′1 303. Doesnt look like he weighs that much tho. Prolly cuz he is 303 pounds of muscle as we can see from his combine benching record. Add his record to the tape and u can see he is not just a workout phenom. I think he will sneak out of the 2nd round into the first but i wish we could get him. Reminds me of Haloti Nagata except Haloti is 6′3 and 350. Both are Tongan and both wen to Oregon. He moves very fast for his size and forces fumbles.
Atogwe’s deal is for $26 million over five years, according to a league source.
really? we couldnt offer similar or better? doesnt sound that bad. 5.2 mill a year on avg

The agent for FS Brian Dawkins and DT Jamal Williams expects both of his clients to return to the Broncos in 2011.
Typical agent-speak. Dawkins is entering his age-38 season and due a $6 million salary after falling to pieces both physically and in coverage last year. Williams is due $4 million going on age 35, so that’s $10 million (not including bonuses) that the Broncos could save by parting with two overpaid, elderly players. We’re betting Dawkins is as good as gone. If the Broncos draft a defensive tackle at No. 2, Williams probably will be too. Mar. 2 – 2:27 pm et
love dawk and all but he is done in my book. 38 is a bit too old. every year in the 30s counts like 2 when it comes to an nfl player.
As much as I love Dawk I think he`s gone. Sorry Dawk.
does anyone like bannan. it seems like the only reason people wanted him to stay is because there was a better chance to get peterson in the draft. i say clean the mess that mcd left mainly on defense. i like peterson but have no prob if we got Dareus.
Just so everybody is clear on this, because it’s truly the only thing that matters now:
Though a negotiating extension was granted today, league year still concludes in another sense tonight. No more player moves as of midnight.
mortreport: No face-to-face negotiations set for Fri; Mediator meets separately with both sides; decision to be made on 7-to-10 day ext.
First I ever heard we had an Oshikoya on board, but congrats to him nonetheless. It makes a whole lot of sense, you are associated with Greek, not Tuten…
Filed to ESPN: Former Colts safety Bob Sanders plans to sign a one-year deal tonight with the San Diego Chargers.
He’ll probably be hurt and out before the first time we have to play the Chargers, haha.
So no more signing of free agents until a new CBA is reached? Is that correct?
I guess you reap what you sow, look at what Mr. Bowlen got out of his DLine for hiring McD:
So much for the Broncos’ free-agent class of 2010. The big signings were a brand new front three to Josh McDaniels’ 3-4 defense: Jarvis Green, Williams and Bannan. Jarvis ($3 million), Jamal ($7.25 million) and Justin ($7 million) combined to play zero games, one season and one season for a grand total of $17.25 million.
Tough lesson!!!
FA cannot be signed, only players who have been cut, and there is only 3 hours and 40 minutes to do so, LOL.
Socal,
Bannan has nothing to do with peterson. At least for me. I just actually liked him even tho he was 31. Thought he could do well in a 4-3. 3-4 wasnt his thing but he did pretty well last year in a sea of mediocrity. If we are gonna get peterson we will get him. No purge will change that. The only thing is that purging DT, especially the starters on DT sounds like we are creating space for our first round draft pick or something. Anything is still possible, we all knew we needed interior linemen so the purge is not that suprising.
pssh. theres pretty much no one left to sign…even shockey has been scooped up and I wasnt a fan. This CBA is making FA awfully hard this year…
What a waste.
OK, thanks.
And all of that money was gauranteed.
to say McDaniels didnt know what he was doing would be the understatement of the 21st century …
Yeah TRB, but the funny thing, only you and me and a handful of others knew from day one that there was something very wrong with McD, and now everybody is acting as if they hated him all along but they did nothing but let us have it whenever we criticized him!!!!
I just think it’s hilarious….. What do you call it? Backslider? LOL.
Anyway, after the news of Williams and Bannan being released this is what Klis said:
Does this mean Alabama’s Marcell Dareus or Auburn’s Nick Fairley are now under heavy consideration for the Broncos’ No. 2 draft pick?
Notice Dareus being mentioned first, LOL.
And Dareus weighs more and runs faster.
I gave McDastard the benefit of the doubt when he arrived. Even after Cutler bc I wasn’t a fan anyway. Once he also pissed of Marshell and Sheff I knew something was up with him. Don’t know if this is true but I heard from a friend who heard from an insider that McDisastor Used to make his coordinators turn in their game plan for the week on Monday, and with no discussion, he went in his office and changed everything he wanted changed and they then had to execute his game plan, no questions asked.
Lol yea i know what you mean. speaking out against him wasnt the most popular thing on the blogs lol. back sliding, flip floping, etc. either would work lol. Yea i find it funny too. Glad we are all on the same page now tho.
Ive been seeing some Mocks and people have us taking Dareus over Fairley. That excites me as my disapproval of Fairley has never been secret altho with what looks like no Peterson, the chances of Fairley are 50/50. I pray we end up with Dareus … trade down style if possible.
I was furious when he traded Hillis. How in the world can you get rid of a player like him. A big fan favorite. Payton Hillis averaged 5.5 yards a carry. Thats insane to get rid of a RB of his caliber.
strand. i understand. just a trend i notice with the rest of the bloggers. lol. anyways just excited to get some young talent. as for bob sanders the only reason he is going to s.d. is because he live out that way. he is injury prone. did anyone see who lombardi has us taking in his mock draft. quinn.
3rd Gen,
that wouldnt supprise me. He was McDictator after all. He wanted to run everything. Thats what I didnt like about him. Thats why he clashed with nolan. How are you gonna hire a person for a job and not let them do it. After the 1st year with the long time broncos that stayed, you noticed they all jumped ship cuz they were like no more. Guy wasnt pleasant to say the list. Ripped/belittled/disrepected his coaching staff most of which were older than him. How can you blame a person from running a plan that was not theres since u changed it. I dont know if that is true, but wouldnt suprise me. I know its for a fact why Nolan left. He chose Wink cuz wink was more “obidient” than anyone else he would find. Instead of doing everyones job … Know your role. Like gap control. Feel back for Wink in a sense.
water under the bridge however … nothing boils my blood like the mention of his name lol. not only 2 years of wasted time but 2 years of going backwards, trading talent, wasting draft picks and bringing the single most embarassing incident to denver in broncos history…what a joke…ill stop there lol
But you have to give McD at least three years! Or so went all the pro McD bloggers, hahahaha.
I for 1 rooted for McDaster because he was the HC of my Broncos and I always want the best for the organization. Its easy to be a negative fan of the organization and the choices it makkes but to me a fan love the Broncos like we love the ass our sister marries because hes part of the family.
Mc D still will have most of his drasft picks on the roster good or bad. I’m sure there will be those who do not like the draftees because of Mc D but I for 1 want them to succeed for the organization standpoint.
Go Boroncos!!!
And go John,John ElFoxWay for at least 3 years.
Right Bay.
John will have three years, Fox probably too, not sold on Xanders yet, and for good reasons, he will have to prove his worth now that he is out of the McD stranglehold.
And the last minute deals keep being made:
Browns re-signed quarterback Seneca Wallace to a three-year contract tonight.
Last-minute signings still coming in: Miami re-signed guard Richie Incognito to a 3-year deal today
Two and a half hours left to get anything done, Broncos deal anyone?
For those clocking it at home, the NFLPA’s decertification deadline is at the close of business hours Friday, roughly 4 p.m.
That’s probably the reason for the 24 hour extension…
minus atogwe .. broncos had no moves to make. except maybe sign banaan back. Cant sign free agents only dudes out right cut which arent many … so, so much for that… lol
Yeah, just went through that…
Still, you can cut players…
I guess I’m the only idiot still bothering checking things out in case of a last minute bombshell…
found this thought u guys would like to check this out. hopefully he doesnt have to work out too long without training camp. Keep up the good work Timmy.
http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/38123/tebow-prepared-to-work-during-lockout
No bombshells, night night.
Al Wilson was finished because of a neck injury. Not his knee!
TRB-how could you forget John Lynch? And even though he wasn’t great, Kenoy Kennedy could hit!
I am surprised at Bannans release. Suppose it was him or Dawk. From a number standpoint at least. I’ve always liked Thomas and guess it’s his time for a shot. Make the most of it!
Wouldn’t surprise me if Williams winds up in Carolina. Maybe Tommie Harris gets a look here? Idk.
Dareus or Fairley? Whichever, they best bring it!!!!!!!!!!!
For the record, I never liked McD. And took a lot of abuse right here because I stated it. Over and over and over and over….
I’m still prepared for a lockout. Regardless of any ‘extension’. It’s dumb. Just get the deal agreed upon. WTF?
Julian Peterson LB from Detroit via Seattle has been released. Along with RB Smith.
