Starting next season, Orange Sunday will be a regular occurrence.
In 2012, the Broncos will don their orange jerseys for home games, with the navy blue jersey switching to their alternate threads. The NFL has officially approved the Denver Broncos’ request to make the swap.
The change started with the fans.
The Broncos received nearly 2,000 fan emails from all 50 states and 32 countries, some from as far away as Azerbaijan, South Korea and Tanzania, asking for the switch. What’s more, almost 10,000 people signed an online petition to get the Broncos primarily in orange.
“Our fans made it clear that they wanted us to make the switch to orange jerseys,” Broncos President Joe Ellis said. “We’re happy to announce that we will make the change, starting next season.”
The orange jerseys, which the Broncos wore for their first game this season against the Oakland Raiders — and will be worn again on Oct. 30 against Detroit — will be the primary home uniform. The now-alternate navy blue jerseys can be worn up to two times at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
As Ellis said, it’s what the fans wanted. What do you all think?

the way i see it since most of the country can get on tony romo for throwing a couple of picks we can blame snorton orton for most of our turnovers. at this point i will start with brady quinn as long as orton is benched.
Let’s get some super powered uniforms that make us win more than we lose. That’s food for thought! …Heck, I can dream right?

It is the year of my birth afterall! I do like the #41? as in April 1st! Lol. #23 is a solid number. #87 will be flying off the shelves too.

Tebow sucks. If they pulled orton they should go with quinn. At least he has an arm and will throw it instead of run after his first read is covered. Tebow is currently 3rd string, why would they bench a starter for a 3rd stringer?

I think Fox pretty much explained the state of things QB wise – the coaches have instilled a system, each of the QBs will run that system … given that, Tebow must run that system “worse” than Orton and Quinn … given – there are some plays that only would be run w/ Tebow at QB, but the SYSTEM will not change … makes sense – you really can’t change horses in the middle of the stream, even though you may drown – at least you drown “knowing” what you’re doing … if they were to install Tebow at QB, it would mean a new system, and that would take training camp and exibition to make it work … so – you’re not going to get Tebow, unless things are really in the toilet, and it really doesn’t matter any more … don’t know what that would be – maybe 2 – 10, or even 3 – 9 … but this week in week out pleading for Tebow is just like making love to yourself, only in that case you’d be stopping just short of satisfaction …

well if we lose this week and go into the bye 1-4 that sounds like we’re in the toilet to me. then what do we do suck for luck, go with quinn, or the popular vote with Tebow. i dont know but what i do know is the obvious, Orton will not be here next season thats why they wanted to trade him cause they dont beleive in him like we dont beleive in him. so the next move is we need to know before we go into the draft what ew have in tebow, cause if he is not the one then we will draft one next year. But only one way to find out…………………
So because a guy can sell a jersey he can play? The people chanting for tebow like his character and ignore the fact that he just can’t make the throws an NFL quarterback needs make. He struggled all through training camp and looked mediocre at best in the pre season. He has a wind up more suited for a baseball pitcher than a QB. People complain about picks? Anyone can pick him off with that wind up. Fox won’t change the whole offensive scheme to cater to one player and he shouldn’t. Football is about what works best for the whole team, not one “star”.

Have you forgotten that as of right now, he’s not even listed as the number 2 quarterback? He struggled with the system in training camp and fell to the third spot. Fox doesn’t have confidence in him as a starting QB. If Orton goes out they should play quinn, who actually took the time in the off season to improve his game. Tebow fans think with their hearts, not their heads.

It seems to me that Tebow is handling not starting alot better than his fans are. Take a lesson from your idol and let the season play out. The problem with bronco fans is no QB has lived up to elway, so every person who comes in is the second coming until we start losing. Fox is a good coach and is better equipped to make the decision than the fans are. The team as a whole has bigger problems than the Orton/Tebow isssue.

Rockom did you see Quinns last preseason game? LOL … nuff said … have u seen his actual reg season games … nuff said as well … Tebow out played Quinn in that last game and his preseason percentage was good along with his pretty good 3 starts last year for a rookie.
Technically he is number 2 as well … not Quinn … but I think quinn should get a shot as well because he didn’t play last year … just for fairness sakes.
Say what you want … this team is going down this season … and the only excuse for playing Orton was best chance to win … thats out the window … even with him we won’t get much but with Tebow even if we lose … he learns and is the only one with a contract after this year … no brainer to me.

Also JE has final decisions but when he brought Fox in he said he won’t encroach on his team … because when its said and done Fox has to live with whoever is his QB and it has to be his decision for a productive outcome. How about LeGerrette Blount today, I remember when he went undrafted I was like we should totally get him … especially because we run the power O … he woulda come next to free but nope … we passed … he woulda been a nice young pounder … with Moreno as the 3rd down back … McGahee is good too … just saying … Blount is a young animal … and as long as he keeps his anger issues in check … he will have a great career …

There is hope! The reason that Orton has been a loser all these many games was the blue jerseys! Who woulda thunk it? Now that they will primarily wear orange at home – he’ll be able to win (next year)! We just need to be patient and wait another year for Orton to learn the system, wear orange at home (most of the time) and then everything will be OK. After all, he gives the Broncos the “best chance to win” (next year).
NFL coaches have gotten so smart and so technical that they have ceased to be FOOTBALL coaches. They have become football professors. They’re a bunch of no common sense brainiacs who should be working on cure for breast cancer instead of wearing pink ribbons on the sideline. Because of they have become so heady about the game, they don’t trust a guy like Tebow. His winning ways defy their logic and “higher knowledge” of the game.
rOCKO – not certain which games you watched but when Quin and Tebow went head to head in preseason. Tebow definitively outplayed Quinn. Quinn was comical apologizing for his inability to perform. It was the next day that commentators came out stating that Tebow was #3.
The stats can’t be changed. Tebow won the number two spot. Quinn will never be a starting QB in the NFL.
Orton is done after this year, and given half a chance, Tebow will take the NFL by storm the way he took on the BCS.
Tebow will never be Brady but he could be the next Michael Vick or Steve Young. I agree that he needs to look off the D and see his #2 or #3 read – can’t learn to do that well from the bench.
Bottom line – Tebow is the most entertaining new QB Denver has signed since Elway, and he has the potential to rewrite the Bronco legacy. Until he gets a shot at proving he can’t handle the position – give it a break!
3 losses can all be blamed on our defense’s inability to stop the opposition…at critical points in the game.
What Im still confused about is the fact that we didnt call 1 timeout during that drive that closed the first half. Im not even sure if it would have made a difference, but to walk in at halftime with all 3 timeouts left….must have been Ortons fault. I’ll bet if Tebow was playing he would have fired up the defense enough to make the stop?!

My biggest issue with the whole Orton thing is that we have seen the same for the past 2.5 years.. and the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result! Every position has had someone for a good amount of time, but the QB spot hasn’t changed. Orton is not a bad QB, but he isnt going to win us a championship, not even management would disagree with that. They say he is “our best chance to win” well I dont want a chance, I have a chance to win the lotto, I want to win games! Tebow wins games, and until proven otherwise he is the guy I want to see in there.
The guys upstairs need to get off their high horse, instead of feeding us this politically correct mumbo jumbo and do something. This organization is on the fringe of long term failure, and if change doesnt come soon, well we will quickly turn into a small market team… That means not watching the game on on cable. If that happens fan followship will drop dramatically.
I ask the guys who make the decisions to do something before they create a real problem for themselves that isn’t fixed with a couple more practices.
