Opponent Rewind: Buffalo Bills

December 21st, 2011 - 12:23pm by Stuart Zaas

In Week 15, Buffalo hosted the Miami Dolphins, falling to 5-9 on the season after a 30-23 defeat. The contest was full of strong offensive performances from both teams, but the Bills were unable to complete their second-half comeback attempt after falling behind 20-7 early in the third quarter.

Buffalo struck first in the game on a 24-yard run by C.J. Spiller in the first quarter to open up a 7-0 lead.

Miami then jumped out in front with 23 consecutive points to lead 23-7 with 10 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, a margin that proved too wide for Buffalo to close.

Spiller caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick, who later connected on a 2-yard scoring strike to Derek Hagan. After a successful onside kick, Dave Rayner converted a 34-yard field goal to put the Bills within seven points. A second onside kick attempt was recovered by Miami.

The Bills surrendered 254 rushing yards, 203 of which went to Reggie Bush, who put the game out of reach with a 76-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Matt Moore completed 10-of-20 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns for the Dolphins.

For Buffalo, Fitzpatrick finished 31-of-47 for 316 yards and a pair of touchdowns with three interceptions. On the ground, Spiller led the way with 91 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown. Spiller also caught nine passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Hope Mcgahee is healthy. If Reggie can put up those kind of rushing numbers we should kill it. 350 yrds rushing as a team. Ball out.

  2. broncsbomber66 says:

I have some weird gut feeling that we will “rise” to the occasion. I honestly am truly sold on the character of this team. We will rebound very strong this week. Rushing attack will be huge, Ball and Johnson will be productive, and we will get 5 total team sacks.

I think Miller’s injury was unfortunate for him and the team, was really looking forward to him make a run at the rookie sack record. I know it’s still possible but not likely.

  3. broncsbomber66 says:

How long have you “old timers” been blogging? Just curious, and I mean no disrespect whatsoever.

  4. RH709 says:

Im sure Miller is hungry for that record. Hope he brings it this game so he can get a couple and be back on pace.

    Eat greedy.

  5. broncsbomber66 says:

    YEP..#eatgreedy…

  6. millerqbkiller says:

miller has a pretty cool sack dance i love that

  7. seweatherman1 says:

bb66, I have been blogging almost 1 year. That is because my brother bought me this computer then so I could join the computer age. I’m not an old timer blogger, just an old timer.

  8. seweatherman1 says:

The last few games the opponents defense has had a couple of defenders covering Miller, so he has not had much opportunity. In the Pats game they literally held him at the line, most of the game, it just wasn’t seen by the guys in the striped shirts. But, when this happens, it usually opens up a lane for one of the other of the orange crushers to get in to the qb.

  9. killerkod says:

I believe I’ve been blogging on here for 3 years…….not an oldtimer……not young’un……….I’m a middle-of-the-roader at 37. Been a broncos fan since 88 when a friend of mine introduced me to who she thought was the best QB in the NFL……….number 7.

  10. millerqbkiller says:

im 24 years old far from being old timer but i have only been blogging this season and im glad i found this blog it has been awsome lots of great people on here.

  11. daddybronc says:

Kod – I had a response to some of your questions on the previous blog.

  12. killerkod says:

Yup, lots of different opinions and we don’t all see eye to eye.

But we all love our broncos and we’re passionate about it.

I personally love being part of this community.

  13. daddybronc says:

I hate the Brown uniforms – because I love the Orange and the Blue and Orange so much!!! I think we have the best uniforms in the league.

I thought the SNL sketch was useless and boring. Maybe I’m too old to understand modern humor – IDK? Funny??? And TRB is correct – if such was done using the names ‘Allah’ and Mohammed – the whole production crew, producers, and actors would need to be apologizing and figuring out ways to get off some ‘hit’ lists.

    I was born 11/3/63 – have a wife of 25 1/2years – seven daughters a six sons ranging from 23 months to 22 years. I have 17 chickens/ 3 rabbits/ and a dog. LOL

I posted my first blog in Sept. 2011 – but I have been reading the blog sporadically since 1998.

Strand – it never registered with me that you are a builder? I started my building career all over Jefferson County. I used to work with Wood Brother Homes in the early eighties.

bb66, I’ve been blogging on here for about 3 yrs, 9 mos. so not as much as some of the other bloggers, but I am an old timer… (50).
I did read them for a few years before joining in.

  16. killerkod says:

thanks daddy……..that gives me a better understanding and I appreciate it.

We all have our own beliefs and what’s most important is that they should all be respected.

  17. millerqbkiller says:

i was like rbf i read these blogs for years before i felt like joining lots of good conversation on here. i always make fun of my friends that are not denver fans that they dont have nearly the same dedication to there teams as us bronco fans do.

  18. strandoftds says:

Daddy, I was born 11/26/63, a few weeks after you. And thanks for jumping in. Your more elaborite than I am, a good gift to have. I appriciate you my brother, not only in our Creator, but in the Broncos too.

  19. armadillo_orton says:

    I want:
More curls, screens, crossing patterns, short middle passes..
    More blitzes/stunts…
    JJ running the ball.
Next time it’s 4th and one (in the redzone), go spread and do aTebow sneek (or pass to the outside receiver).

I never want to see again:

A three man pass rush in any situation.
DT pass attempt. (Yo no more trick plays please!)
Less than 10 pass attempts in the half against a sub par pass defense.
Running on more than 70 % of first downs.

  20. strandoftds says:

Daady, things are tough at the moment, but when I do build, It`s strictly with ICF ( Insolated Concrete Forms). An awesome system as you may know. I`ve done it for ten years now. Before that, I was a Optical Lab Tech making glasses for 21 years. I`ve lived a good life.

  21. strandoftds says:

    ooops, Insulated.

  22. daddybronc says:

Way too much in common Strand!!! I started in concrete work. I’m guessing you are using some sort of Styrofoam foundation wall and filling the cylinders with concrete???

I prototype tested something like that in 1986.

  23. millerqbkiller says:

i have always wonderd what some of you guys and gals do for work since i see alot of you on here during the middle of the day like myself. i am a landscaper so living in oregon my offseason is right now so i have lots of free time. lol

  24. daddybronc says:

I make the majority of my money from a garage door and gate company. I am the founder and contractor but I rarely have to go in the field anymore. My 21yo son does most of the business.

I also am the director for the Antelope Valley of a children’s ministry. We put on Gospel clubs in the public school. I connect churches with schools and keep everyone legal, and well trained, and fully staffed and funded.

I am also writing two books.

And I am attempting another degree in Cultural Anthropology, for which I am writing a thesis paper.

I am sitting in front of my laptop, a desktop PC, and a desktop Mac. I spend toooo much time in the office!!! LOL

  25. strandoftds says:

The product I use is called Quadlock, it`s a progressive form. The plastic ties are seperate from the styrofoam. I`ve used quite a few different products and Quadlock is the best of the best.

  26. millerqbkiller says:

sounds nice daddy. you seem like a realy good dad and a man of faith

  27. daddybronc says:

    DEAR ABBY:
I have always been interested in my family genealogy and wanted to have my family history traced, but I can’t afford to spend a lot of money to do it. Any suggestions?

My main gift and focus is on Eschatolgy and am writing a book about the 9Coming. It`s a huge jigsaw puzzle as you`d know. I LOVE IT!!!

  30. strandoftds says:

  31. daddybronc says:

Truth is Strand – I’m sort of lazy – If I didn’t obligate myself to a million things, I’d never get anything done.

In your Eschatology, most Dispensationalist discount and never give serious consideration to the Covenental views. I was trained Dispensational – but for the moment I am Pan- everything. Great reading and finding out about some of my Bronco Family. I have been reading the blog for about 3 years and posting off and on for 2 years. I’m the youngest of a family of seven born 7/7/69 and am now the proud father of three, 2 girls and a son. My kids are 3, 2, and 9 mos. as I’m a late bloomer, considered the priesthood for a while and inherited my Father’s advising business, and remain the same today. My Dad’s step Dad managed Mile Hi Stadium and we’ve been fortunate enough to keep our tickets since the team came to town.

Strand, I live in your neck of the woods, God’s Country!!! Except in the city near Rudy Elementary. I have a lot of respect for you guys and your convictions. Keep it up and thanks for the posts I get to share.

    Go Broncos!!

  35. strandoftds says:

We know this much said in REV 22, I am coming soon and my reward is with me. That is clear enough for me. LOL! I`m off to lunch to go see a buddy, later Daddy.

Ive been blogging here pretty regularly for at least 4 or 5 years … can’t truly say when I began. Been through a few names but for the most part name was either this one u see or “The-Royal-Beast” … without the hyphens … my name can no longer be typed in these blogs cuz it was band for “Threats against the coach” … Don’t think what I said was all that bad but as moderators you gotta do your job and not over look anything. McD deserved it. LOL

ps: Glad im not the only one who wants to see more JJ. Thought he was better than Ball in Preseason running and catching. Ball has done work for us to tho so kudos to him.
