Official Broncos Blog Scoring Contest

September 7th, 2012 - 2:13pm by Gray Caldwell

Bloggers –

With help from killerkod, we’ve developed the Official Broncos Blog Scoring Contest.

We’ve noticed that you predict the score to each game in the comments section, so thanks to killerkod’s suggestion, we decided to provide an easy way to submit those predictions.

Here are the only rules: your submission for the upcoming game will only be accepted starting Tuesday at noon leading up to the game. The cutoff time, obviously, is kickoff. In other words, we won’t accept any submissions after kickoff of each game, and don’t start predicting for the following game until Tuesday at noon.

Without further ado, here’s the link for this week’s predictions. I know some of you already made your predictions in the comments, but go ahead and add them in here as well — we’re contemplating weekly prizes for first, second and third place, and will almost certainly provide prizes for first, second and third place at the end of the season. So you want to be in the official tally.

The top three bloggers closest to the score each week (by total difference in score) get points. First place = 7 points, second place = 5 points, third place = 3 points. Blogger must pick the winning team to get points.

Good luck!

  2. sndvl says:

Sports Authority at Mile High IS awesome.

Old Mile High was AWESOME, TIcat.

Mile High Manning I’m sure will be an entirely new level of awesome!

And what’s ironic is I spent so long cheering against him… I’m now rooting for him more than I ever rooted for Orton. Hahahahahahaha

  3. DaddyBronc says:

    Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!!! LOL

  6. alaskanbronco06 says:

I see I missed the fun lol.

Anyways I gotta say the key to this game is seeing how our pass rush does against this bad Oline. Wolfe Miller and Doom are going to be hard to stop and add in Warren who can also demand double teams its going to be so hard to stop for this poor Oline. If we can cause the pressure (I think we will) on Big Ben and forcing him to move/pass earlier than hes used to then we can force bad passes and bad passes can lead to INTs. Our DBs are also going to have to stick with the WRs. Brown Sanders and Wallace are going to be hard to cover.

Got to take a pic with one of the lombardi trophies today at dutch clark stadium in pueblo!!!too bad i couldnt hold it….

  8. SECBroncofan says:

I can’t wait till the Tebow disaster blows up in Ryans face with Sanchez……DB…we will have the last laugh my friend…just remember who you are a fan of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tebow or the Broncos!

  9. SECBroncofan says:

AB…I think our D-Line dominates the Steelers O-line!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. SECBroncofan says:

    FTR…where are ye bro???????????

  11. alaskanbronco06 says:

SEC I agree that they will. To me that is really the key to the game. Dont see how they can stop Miller coming off the edge with Wolfe or Doom in front of him. They will have to keep an extra blocker or two just to deal with them. Any one of those three can handle a 1v1 to get near the QB and Warren can cause pressure as well. Also Steelers are without Decastro.

  12. DaddyBronc says:

Sorry SEC didn’t mean to leave you hanging.

Did you see the Heath Evans interview and write up calling for Tebow to replace Sanchez at the beginning of the season?

His reasoning is that Sanchez has a 47 game history of losing. Tebow has a winning record with a creative OC. He assumes that if the Orton experiment hadn’t been and TT had started that the Broncos would have finished 9-7 or 10 – 6. (Titans and Chargers were beatable with Tebow) He goes on to state that the Jets have a better D, Spec. Teams. (Not certain I’d agree with that even though Ryans D was top 10.)

What I think is that Tebow can do more than Sanchez because of the fact that Jets have O-Line problems.

No matter – I’ll be cheering the Broncs….Hoping to see Tebow play. That’s all.

  13. DaddyBronc says:

I agree that the Broncos D ought to be disruptive to the men of Steel, but…BB is as good at making something outta nuttin’ as any top tier QB in the league.

    Just don’t underestimate Pit.

  14. DaddyBronc says:

    DP – hahahahahaha!!!

  15. DaddyBronc says:

Sorry Strand / Cat – I be good now!!!

  16. SECBroncofan says:

Sorry but Tebow is not an NFL QB,if he was JE would have kept him, just me bro!

  17. SECBroncofan says:

Tebow might make a decent RB OR Evangilist…but no NFL QB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. SECBroncofan says:

    You’re just a PFM hater,that’s all.we know that,we ain’t stupid bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. SECBroncofan says:

Time to get aboard the P-DOG Train…..CHOOOOOOOOO….CHOOOOOOOOOOOOO…..I’ll give you a hand up!!!!!

  20. SECBroncofan says:

The Tebow train done left the station bro, believe me I know,I have a pitbull named T-BO the rest of his life…..now tell me I wasn’t a Tebow fan,but we are P-DOG fans now……because P-DOG leads us BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. SECBroncofan says:

I guess I’ll get off here now, since I was banned for spamming before(posting too many post without replies)B.S. in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!
    B.F.E.

    ILMSDB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GOODNIGHT BRONCOS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. BuddhaBroncos says:

Hey guys how is it going? I just wanted to hop in a give my prediction to you guys as well: Broncos win 28 – 17 and Champ Bailey gets 1 int to make up for the one he dropped in the playoff game.

  23. DaddyBronc says:

    In my book too!

    Good to see you ’round.

I’m on the Bronco bus, wagon and train…but I like Tebow….We’ll have to let time tell whether or not he is an NFL QB.

ILMSDB – (led by pd or dp or pms or whatever.) Lol

  24. sndvl says:

Daddy… What should be said is don’t underestimate Denver.

We look to have a pretty tough team. Even with our tough schedule. Like Tebow said last year- “As iron sharpens iron, men sharpen men”…
Just because he’s no longer here, doesn’t mean his message left!

We just so happened to land PFM at QB for this season! His wisdom combined with their will… How can that not lead to great things!!!!

  25. DaddyBronc says:

    Well said Sndvl!

and we will see…this 1st game could change my tune….

  26. BuddhaBroncos says:

All I know is it is a lot easier to throw with Peyton manning in madden 13 than it was with tebow in madden 12.

  27. tlcat06 says:

PMS really you’re going to bring that up?

Strand do you see what you did???

Sndvl… I have spent so long cheering for PFM I am pretty sure I cant sleep because now I get to cheer for him in Orange and Blue!

As for my Timmy… I think that the Jets season is going to be a rollercoaster ride. Pretty sure he will replace Sanchez soon enough. Just remember DB, we have the QB with the real winning record now. Please don’t underestimate Peyton just because you’ve never cheered for him before. I urge you to think of two things you like about him before the game on Sunday and focus on those two things. And then find two more things you like about him during the game, such as how he can force another team to use all their timeouts in the first and third quarters… I will be expecting a report from you.

  28. tlcat06 says:

    Buddha that is awesome!

  29. DaddyBronc says:

Wow Cat – that is nearly therapeutic!!! You’re sounding like me!

  30. DaddyBronc says:

You are up way too late. It’s too late for me to have any beauty sleep…I guess you have the day off from kiddos tomorrow.

  31. tlcat06 says:

No! I teach 5th grade! Now I’m serious I expect the positive report on Monday before the Chargers cream the Raiders.

  32. DaddyBronc says:

I’m still just hoping that we have the same PM that has a winning record…a very short time will tell. I am going to start crying the second the talking heads begin going on about how much PM has regressed.

  33. DaddyBronc says:

u got it. I hope to report positive stuff.

  34. tlcat06 says:

Positive THINKING DB!!! NO more of this decreased crape! You did not read the NYtimes article if you are still using the word REGRESSED.

  35. DaddyBronc says:

    focus – focus – focus….

  36. tlcat06 says:

    *regressed crap

  37. tlcat06 says:

No! No HOPE about it. You have to tell me two positive things by Monday before the Raiders lose.

  38. DaddyBronc says:

decreased crape – good idea – I’m on a diet. Not really. Don’t worry about it…my fingers do the same thing to me.

  39. tlcat06 says:

You promise me! Now! So I can get some beauty sleep!! Two positives whether we win or lose! And they have to be positives about Peyton!

  40. DaddyBronc says:

I can already tell you two positives – I like how tall he is and I like how high his release is and that he can control the ball from away up there.

I can tell you he is likely the best on the field game manager the game has ever known.

He is demanding on his receivers and therefore has a better idea of where his guys are than any other QB in the NFL

  41. DaddyBronc says:

    focus…focus…

  42. DaddyBronc says:

It’s not helping – he looks lost in orange and blue and the QB pads look rediculous

  43. tlcat06 says:

LOL it is helping because every week you are going to add to this list and I am going to save it and repost it! I have to go to bed! And you have to read that article and I will be expecting two things that are not listed above on Monday! BRONCOS COUNTRY goodnight!

  44. tlcat06 says:

Thanks for making me smile before I went to bed…

    My two things:

I love it when he decides to run for a first down or a TD. Mostly because its hilarious to watch.

He NEVER gave up. Even when he couldn’t throw a pass to Todd Helton. Even when everyone else said he couldn’t do it. He working to get better everyday and you cant call him a quitter!

  45. BuddhaBroncos says:

Cat that article is amazing. It is startling to see how huge the chip on his shoulder is and an up close look at his drive to be as good as he can be. wow is all i have to say. I can’t wait until all of the doubters (my brother included, but i forgive him because he is a Texans fan) have to eat crow. This season has all the ingredients to be amazing.

  46. oldsouthstander says:

    Cat: Got your revision.

    ALLL HAIL THE NECK!!!!!

  47. tlcat06 says:

Buddha that article is something special and very well written! Glad you liked it!!

  48. tlcat06 says:

Wow… DB I was really pushy last night! Must be the PMS (Peyton Manning Syndrome) but I am really excited to see your two positives!! Can you post them on Monday because I will be watching the game with my family and my broinlaw Steeler fan and I don’t want to lose it in all the post game excitement!

    OSS thank you!!!!!

  49. killerkod says:
