The Broncos on Thursday added another offensive lineman, free agent Maurice Williams.
The team also announced the release of college free agents Marcellus Bowman, a safety from Boston College, and Michael Shumard, a guard from Texas A&M.
Williams is a 10th-year offensive lineman who spent his first nine NFL seasons with Jacksonville. Of the 105 games he has played his career, he has started 100 of them. That number ranks seventh in Jaguars history.
Those starts have been spread out across the offensive line — 86 at right tackle, 12 at right guard and two at left tackle. He has started all 16 games in five seasons.

I hate to admit it but it kills me everytime I see it,I can’t help but laugh, but since I had seizures when I was little,I guess that gives me the right to laugh when I see it.haha
Night bro.
Time to sign Doom!!! Time to show a “Team Player” gets respect!!
Take the Tebow Jersey profits and give it to Elvis!!! Mr.B you got your QB of the future but its time to act and now on the Doom!
Just me.
FTR
Went to my kids sports banquet earlier, and was totally stoked…”MY” 2 boys were the only boys on the team that made all state, and all district too, they got 3 trophy’s each, one plays RB/LB,and the other plays RB/CB,and is Champs biggest fan,he even wears #24…coach said he was the best corner he has seen in many years.I’m so proud of both of them.
FTR…I second that motion bro, that is a GREAT idea.
Anybody know how many years are left on DJ’s contract and how much he’s makin????
DJ still has 4 years left on a 6 year 32 million dollar contract,so we don’t have to worry about him,now we need to get Doom signed. The Denver Post says Doom and DJ are working out together in Miami, also says a lot of former Miami players go back home to work out.DJ could earn an extra 100 thou if he works out with the team, but decided not to.
Doom was advised to not show up for the Broncos voluntary offseason program in part to protest his one-year $3.168 million tender.
That is a Damn shame Doom (the NFL sack leader) has to protest to get a new contract,Mr.B we signed all the FA’s to big contracts, why can’t we sign our most productive Defensive player to a new contract???
Since we didnt draft any weapons (defensive variety), can we sign DOOM!!!???!!!
wtf we still haven’t sogned doom wif are they waiting for he deserved last at the end of the year. he was the only player consistantly putting up great numbers for us on d.. Bowlen sign him already.. he serserves a longterm deal worth good money.. (sorry i hate the fact that pro athletes get paid millions) but still if everyone else is getting paid that much he sure the hell deserves it!!
hey everybody that saying pay doom….the team is being catuions because of the potential lockout…and if u pay doom to a long time contract and he not play….thats money lost. and everybody dnt want to lose money not even bill gates……doom knows this….he is going to sign with us regardless because he loves this team
nastynate how can u forget dj williamns……to be honest he is our best d man….i love doom god knows i do but dj williamns is the best…second in the league first in the afc with tackles…and he is the most underrated player….even in the san diago lost..he had the most tackles….the mike postion is the qb of the d….
If you feel like getting up on the right foot today and are looking for something to pump you up, go over to the DP and read what McD had to say about Tebow to Woody in his article named: McD thinks Tebow has the “it” factor. OC, HAVE A GREAT DAY, LOL.
Sndvl, from your 11:05 post
I dont think you will ever be happy. We worked on the D all offseason. Three new veterans on the line that add depth, to keep us fresh throughout the season. In the linebacker spots we got Hagan, Dj, Ayers, Greisen, Ayodele, Larsen and others to back them up. In the secondary We got Champ and Goodman, with some talent to learn from the best in Champ and a solid guy in Goodman. At safety we got Dawkins and Renaldo, again with some youth to learn from a leader on this team in Dawkins. I think our defense is going to have a mean streak this year.
GO BRONCOS IN 2010
Oh man, could Tebow really beat out Orton and Quinn to get the staring job this season?? After reading that DP article I honestly think it could happen. Maybe not right away, but I could see the depth chart being Orton, Tebow, Quinn then Brandstater pending he’s still around. I’m still critical of how his throwing motion will repsond when “bullets” start flying but McD does have me feeling a bit more confident that he’ll be able to make him into the QB we’ve all been waiting for. I haven’t felt this excited for the season to start in a long time. Don’t get me wrong I love the Broncos, but for some reason this season, more than others, already has me on the edge of my seat.
Thanks for pointing out the article Bay but now I really cant wait for the season to start.
Ok since we already went over who will ULTIMATELY be the starters on the offensive line, who will be the starters Game 1? Clady may not be ready by then.
I don’t know who of the rookies will step up but if Clady isn’t ready Game 1 I think Maurice Williams will start in his absence.
Wondering about Doom??
http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_15027082
That is BS other teams are signing their RFA’s to long term contracts Doom is worth 5 years 40-50 mil.And worth every cent too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m wondering but not worried about signing Dumervil. I will be worried if he hasn’t signed his tender or a contract extention by the start of the season. Maybe they’re waiting to sign Dumervil when they start signing the rookies? I have faith in Bowlen, McD and Xanders along with Dumervil and his agent will get a contract extentioned ironed out.
“extension”
So what happens if they don’t sign Doom? I’d be livid to the point of creating a ballot for the testing of McDaniels’ sanity.
If they don’t sign Doom, it would’t be because they don’t want to or are just being cheap. I think that the uncertainty of a lockout has them looking at the situation from all directions.
Dont know why you singled me out BFL88? But I think everybody shares the PAY DOOM, SIGN DOOM, INK DOOM long term sentiment!!!???!!!
I will tell you why Im not happy to pacify your assumption though- Two years running we have not addressed our achilles heel where it matters most- the D-line through the draft. Sure we revamped through the offseason. And believe you me, I hope these guys are the answer. But you can not overlook the fact that they are all on the wrong side of 30 (I was only joking when I coined the term AARP defense, but in terms of the NFL age spectrum, there is a little truth to it!).
Lets really take a look at this revamped D-line
31 year old Justin Bannan- career backup in Baltimore
34 year old Jamaal Williams- released from “you know where” after a major injury
32 year old Jarvis Green- a starter that was not effective in the run stopping at his former place of employment. ( you dont have to believe me but watch the tape. Especially the playoff game against Baltimore. He was actually pulled)
The holdovers- Ronald Fields (relatively unknown), Ryan McBean (another relative unknown), Jarvis Moss (a bust in the class of Jamarcus to this point) and Chris Baker (who knows at this point).
SO, with that in mind, youre right, Im not happy. UNTIL WE SIGN DOOM!!! who by the way is only 26 and coming off a year EVERBODY knows about.
Then we see RFA’s such as Willis, Evans, Wilfork among others cashing in. And former members of the DENVER BRONCOS, Marshall and Cutler leaving and getting their pay day! IDK, just my opinion….
sndvl..I will agree with you we need young talent on the Dline, and I hope we address it in next years draft.I’m pretty happy with this years draft (a lot more than last year) but we did pass on a lot of great Defensive players,I really wanted Williams,Kindle,or Mays,so don’t think you’re alone when you speak up,I’m here too.
BFE
As far as the Orton thing the other day, just blowing off steam, wished I didn’t post it.I get drunk all the time, just using it as an excuse to get rid of Orton I guess.
