Haha! McD still has a long way to go.
I’ve never been sold on him. For the sake of my beloved BRONCOS, I’m hoping for the best.
Wonder how Hillis is doing over there on the shore of Lake Erie?!? Lol since were in the position of needing a powerback now. Wonder is Spencer might finally get a look. Ah, nevermind. Pipe dream.
Hope Lendale makes a full recovery!
Same for Elvis. Get well soon gents.
Loved the trade. Tho, I wouldn’t have cared if phonz was cut outright. Just like the schmuck Green. Dead money is not ideal. It is what it is.
Only a few short days now!

Get Healthy/Stay Healthy, BRONCOS 2K10!!!!!!!!!! Jokes on Jacksonville (cause this time, it is for real)

It doesn’t matter who said this or who said that, it doesn’t matter who was right and who was wrong, the only thing that matters is the W and the L columns. Some will say yeah without some of our key pleyers we’ll only win a few games. Well isn’t that how it goes for the rest of the league? Do the Colts win games with Manning out, do the Vikings win some of their games if Favre isn’t playing, answer is no. Yeah, we could have a rocky season with some of our key guys missing time. Hopefully our young guys will step it up.
My question is how come all of a sudden everyone hates White? Everyone was lovin’ his running style then he gets hurt and he’s a “bum”, get rid of him. Yeah I’m just as concerned about the injuries and yeah the trainers need to probably do a better job, but what do these guys do in the offseason? Are they takin care of there bodies 100% of the time? Are they training are they eatin’ right?? Answer is some of them are and some of them aren’t. So while it may be the training coaches problem it still is on the players too. Seems like everyone forgets that, yeah its easy to blame coaches and owners, but no one blames the players. Even the players don’t blame themselves, everyone wants instant gratification in this world and when we don’t get it we freak out. I’m just saying that injuries happen and they do need to be addressed. However there isn’t anything we can do about them now, except hope the young guns step up and play, which I think some of them have and have done so very well.

A lot of changes on the depth chart after the final preseason game. Not a sign of stability that is essential to the teamwork an elite team has. I expect the Broncos offensive and defensive lines to be a very cohesive group, but not early in the season.
    First quarter season
At Jacksonville is a tossup with the advantage to Jacksonvilles running game somewhat offset by their poor defense.
Seattle is a terrible team and an easy win.
Colts is a loss. Broncos not in their league at the moment.
At Tennessee is another tossup that depends on how Vince Young is playing. New VY equals Bronco loss, old VY equals Bronco win.
    1 win, 1 loss, 2 tossups = 2 & 2

    Second Quarter
At Ravens Loss. Not in their league.
Jets Tossup witth advantage to Broncos. Sanchez regressed in preseason.
    Raiders WIN!!!
“At ” 49ers Tossup with 49eres losing homefield advantage
    1 win, 1 loss, 2 tossup = 2 & 2

    Third Quarter
    KC Win
    At SD Loss
    St Loius Win
Aty KC Tossup. Broncos seldom win at KC, especially two years in a row.
    2 wins, 1 loss, 1 tossup = 2 & 2

    Fourth Quater
    At Arizona Win
At Raiders Toossup depends on Raiders QB situation.
    Houston Tossup.
SD Win as SD lets starters sit.
    2 win, 0 losses, 2 tossups = 3 & 1
    Total 9-7

  4. 1nOnlyTRB says:

who hates white and called him a bum? I thought people were just talking Jersey numbers.

  5. danso says:

Old South-Good evaluation of wins & losses. I have picked my wins & losses some time ago and have us @ 4-4 for the first half & 6-2 second half for 10 & 6 (actually had 7-1 second half but know we’ll blow at least one of those so will go with 10-6)

  6. danso says:

At some time during the early part of the season I expect we will have a losing record like 2-3 and I can already hear some of our fans screaming for coach’s head and bring in Tebow etc etc. ( I remember cries to bring in Simms last year :) . Hopefully we will be patient and let the team and schedule come around and have our winning season.

On another note I get a kick out of all the experts trying to predict the season records and guessing we’ll have 4 wins or 7 wins or whatever. They don’t seem to pick any better than we do. If it was an exact science we could take a poll, determine how everyone would do, and be done. Guess that is why we play the games. I look forward to an exciting season. Go TEAM Broncos!

  7. 1nOnlyTRB says:

yup no one knows anything for sure, the so called experts are only humans after all. Same guys that predict someone will be good, they end up busts. and someone will be bad and they end up legendary. Even I that think we will be 7-9 still knows there is any given sunday. All i know is that I am never more excited than when a Broncos game is on. So let the chips fall as they may. We have a good squad, just dont think the front office has been efficient in couple of things is all. but 4 wins? HA, we havent fallen that low yet…..Go Broncos…

  8. timmah says:

I like danso’s optimism but I think 8-8 and 9-7 are more of a realistic number for this years broncos, but I would love to see them pull off a game or two that they aren’t supposed to win and go 10-6 or 11-5. Kyle seems more prepared and his arm seems alot stronger this year than last year so my prediction will be 9-7. Also I think that we will win the first game of the year just for the fact that Jax defense is horrible and the broncos defense is a little better than last year now that we have stable corners in Cox, Thompson, and Jones.

  9. mikew007 says:

    I’m in at 9-7:

    Split with SD,OAK,KC.

Win: JAC, SEATTLE, JETS, SF, STL, ARIZ
    Lose: INDY, TENN, BALT, HOUSTON

  10. BroncosHouston says:

I predict 9-7 for us. If we lucky it could be as high as 11-5
Go BRONCOS…this year i order NFL Sunday ticket so I can watch every Broncos games

  11. 1nOnlyTRB says:

McDaniels said Elvis Dumervil was in today’s squad meeting despite being placed on IR. Expects him to be around plenty this season.

  12. Broncfalls says:

I won’t predict W’s and L’s…however what I will say is this. I truely believe our offense will be as efficent as it has been in quite some time.

What I believe (IMHO) is that our offense will running fluently. I’m looking forward to watching Orton keep the offense out of 3rd and longs and moving the chains and making the deep throws when it comes. I’m a firm believe you keep the defense off the field and rested so that when it does come their turn they can stay aggressive.

I just think our offense is going to be our strength and our defense in which case I say has improved looks even better!

I think the Broncos will shock a lot of people and you ready?????? It’ll start with Kyle running the offense!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  13. Big D 44 says:

Hey at least we got another injured running back in Brown, can never have enough injured running backs…. LOL

  14. strandoftds says:

Did everybody see the odds yet? jax favored by 2 1/2. Uh, I don`t think so. jax is gonna suck this year.

  15. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    Big D

Can never get enough injured players period apparently, not a wise way to approach things especially based on history but we keep doing it. Ill leave it at that before a McD faithful chews my head off lol

  16. Yovi21 says:

it all rests on MJD if we cant stop him and have to put 7 or 8 in the box Girrard will be able to open up on us. Denver I personally think will win this game Jax is good but I don’t know that their D is even good this year and I think our O will walk all over them! (Knock on wood)

  17. 1nOnlyTRB says:

all i know is without doom we are in alot of dookie, his pressure = INTs last year. Now our DBs are gonna have to work harder for them. I believe in Moss and Ayers or is it Ayers and Hunter but they aint no doom. Not to mention the field position effect from dooms sacks and the fumbles he forced. I thought it would be challenging on Offense without Marshall but even so more Challenging on Defense without Doom. At least 3 of our 5 probowlers are still active (Dawk, Clady, Champ). But yea, stop MJD and we are good. But Mike Simms Walker is emerging, but champ can take care of him no problem….

  18. 24_champbailey says:

McDaniels said Elvis Dumervil was in today’s squad meeting despite being placed on IR. Expects him to be around plenty this season. #fb

  19. oinks3 says:

There are certainly a lot of question marks this season. The biggest one to me is can the defense stop the run and put pressure on opposing QB’s at key moments without Elvis. Our secondary should be very good despite the average age. Parrish Cox and Syd’Quan Thompson I think will add depth back there. On offense can the Broncos mount a running game with the young O-linemen. I too think that it may take a few games before we see the team truly come together. I think after watching the Pittsburgh game where most of the starters played the first half that a 10-6 season is very possible.

  20. rayjr26 says:

i think, as do many others, that the big question marks for us this year is our line play! IMO it all comes down to the line play for us i think. if we struggle to stop the run, and struggle to run ourselves, then it will be another tough year! hopefully that is not the case! i am thus far happy with what McD has done with the team. ive always been a huge fan of the team first mentality and i definately think we have lots of that in denver now!! cant wait to whoop up on some jags!!
    Go Broncos

Hey, guys, glad to be back, it seems as if things have been pretty lively on the blog of late, good to see, not just bloggers enamored with everything McD does but also plenty questioning his wisdom in day to day operation to date, and rightly so.

Since last week I have been keeping track of season record predictions and we have 17 already, if you want in with your prediction, you must post it by midnight this Saturday, it has to be a specific record, not either or, and only one pick per blogger, no changing pick, first one counts. We decided not to do a score prediction for this first game since we know next to nothing about this first outing of ours, so the regular season pick is what’s on the line. Make your record pick by Staturday if you want a shot a grabbing the spotlight at season end, but watch out you might end up winning the fool of the year award instead, LOL.

  22. MANDIEGO says:

Denver will go 8-8 this year.

  23. bronco-blaze says:

    Denver will go 9-7

  24. baylinorcrush says:

And for the ones who are worried that the depth chart shows Quinn ahead of Tebow for #2, not to worry, it’s just a temp set up, it could end up being different for every week of the season if we can trust what McD has to say about it today:

“We’re not going to name (the No. 2 QB) right now,” McDaniels said during his press conference this morning. “We got three that we like and … (Tebow and Quinn) are going to compete and we’ll try to make the decision that we feel is best on game day for our team, based on how we’re going to play the game.”

Game plan, wild horse formation heavy, all that will tell us each week who will be #2. Personally you all know where I stand on that, we stand to gain absolutely nothing having Quinn ahead of Tebow in the rotation, except ulcers watching Quinn slowly creeping up the field at the very best if he ever comes in, god help us, an “at the Redskins” deja vu!

  25. florio's_mom says:

    how’s everybody doing?

    I believe I said between 8-8 and 10-6.

I can’t remember, but that sounds right.

  26. thatdude807 says:

Denver signed DT Kevin Vickerson 6-5,321lbs and released le kevin smith…. I like this alot

About McD, I have to say I’m on the fence about this one, he is neither the genius many claim him to be nor is he the dumb kopf others want us to believe he is. He is somewhere in the middle, pretty average at the HC job so far like his record indicates.

To me his shortcomings are all related to his lack of experience at the position, in most of his decisions he has been known to make major blunders or at least taken questionable actions: Play calling, dealing with his players, dealing with the media, dealing with the media about his players, dealing with other team players on the sideline, dealing with his own players on the sideline, evaluating and picking players in the draft, all of that stuff leaves me to be rightfully guardedly optimistic about the young man.

If he grows up, learns to control his emotions, earns the respect of his players, opens up the playbook, learns from others more qualified how to evaluate talent in the draft, resorts on healthy players rather than counts on unhealthy players to be healthy, drafts players based on talent AND needs, but not on talent alone, well you got the drift, the young man has a full plate in front of him, but if he realizes his shortcomings, comes to grip with it and does his best to better himself, delegating duties he has no experience at like the draft, the future is bright.

If on the other hand, he remains as he has mostly been, with arrogance in his step, not willing to readily admit to mistakes, taking the high road on most troubling issues, there is no future, simple as that.

The main thing he has to do this year is earn the complete trust of his players, not only as game play caller but as a leader of men, because in my view it is exactly what he hasn’t had so far here with our players and it partly lead to the demise of our team last year. So it don’t mean didly whether we as fans like him or not, but it means everything if the players like him or not, and this is where his battlefield will be this year in my opinion. It’s all in his hands, waht he does with it is his call, hopefully the man will mature and leave his immature ways behind, he more than anyone needs to somehow learn that there is more to life than just football, and if he does get that concept, he would immediately be taking a giant step forward in treating his men with the respect they deserve, since he has shipped out all the ones who weren’t worthy, right?

As far as I’m concerned no one knows what direction McD will have this team going at this point, it could go either way. Both sides of fans have valid points regarding him and that doesn’t make them any less of a fan if they point out McD’s bad, because he does have plenty, Jekyll and Hyde, which one will prevail, stay tuned…

  29. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    FINALLY

I have been waiting for Le Kevin to get lost, old and has not really been of use to us. Not just the Age thing cuz we got alot of productive pre middle aged players lol.

  30. broncos20 says:

our defensive front must be stoud at all times..ILBs must control the gap, and fly around,,we had trouble keeping taps passsing-catching TEs last year..if all goes well, let those two OLBs wreak havoc….Doom wouldve been doubled all year if he is in, now OCs might underestimate Ayers and Moss.hopefully those two make immediate impact.

im not worried about the passing game…the running game needs to get healthy and pound em’..

  31. baylinorcrush says:

I had predicted Smith as a cut, so glad to see it happen, now how good a move is it to get that 43 large dude, he was with the Titans, then shipped to Seattle with LenDale and Seattle, a LOWLY team gets rid of both… How do you guys expect me to be excited about all these late moves, they mean close to nothing to me, like that Gronkowski TE we got from Detroit, eveyone is clamoring a great move, the Lions were overloaded at TE’s so we end up with a good one, problem with that is the day after the Lions shipped him to us, they turned around and brought in a TE the Packers just cut… You tell me, all this crap tells me one thing, these moves haven’t done anything improvement wise for us, they are just temporary band-aids to stop the bleeding is all.

  32. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, Ray, it was time for me to get out of the water this morning since tropical storm Hermine moved over us here on Lake Travis near Austin, just in the nick of time, it’s all about timing man.

  33. Manny 01 says:

    we will win sunday.
our run d vs their running game= jax 1
our secondary vs their pass attack= den 1
jax run d vs our running game= flip
jax secondary vs our pass attack= den 1
it’s hard to win games by running the ball. It’s easier by passing the ball. This game will be decided by last drive. denver wins 24-20 final score!!!

60 MINUTES OF FOOTBALL GO BRONCOS!!!

  34. royalbroncofan1 says:

Hard to believe the highly anticipated regular season is now just a few days away. We’ve witnessed alot of movement lately with the roster now trimmed down to our 53 best players. Some trades/cuts most of us felt would happen or needed to happen. Alfonso Smith was on the bubble for sometime and with Coach McD trading him away, he’s admitted to his mistake in drafting him. I never liked the move on draft day last year to select him, but gave Smith BOD until he proved otherwise, which he did.

I believe the Offense is ready to go as they’ve improved in most facets with the exception of the running game. The O-line still being tweeked with Daniels now stepping in at LG. Ryan Harris beginning the season with a bad ankle. Looks like Beadles may possibly need to step in at RT. Clady still working off some rust but should be ready. Pass protection is a strength. Baring injury, this group will grow more cohesive as the season progress. Once they do this should open things up for the running game. Of course I could be way off and they may just blow the Jags off the line of scrimmage on Sunday.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!

  35. 1nOnlyTRB says:

yup bay we are just spinning our wheels. I thought McD didnt use or want a recieving TE thats why he got rid of sheffler, that and they had beef I think. And then he sends him off and then realises we need ones and the ones we have are not the type of receivers needed or are hurt and then goes and trades to the same team he just sent his actually capable receiving TE to. So like bay says, yes, they were just overloaded at TE and probably would have cut him anyway, after all, their starting recieving TE was supplied by us. But everyone will just tell me, part of being a young head coach is trial and error, so ill acknowledge that before yall even say it. Just acknowlege both sides yall. TRB out.

I also believe we can beat Jacksonville but relies alot on stopping their run and establishing our own. (like ever game lol).

  36. 1nOnlyTRB says:

wait they also have Daniel Pedigrew as the main guy. so yup. stacked at TE lol

  37. vraptor567 says:

well that was a disappointment, though KO looked strong our D looked ….hmm…familiar to say the least. sure was hoping to see a stronger team effort which might be due to having a rookie coach. Let’s see how we fare against the seahawks at home, has to be better than roasting in the heat on the coast.
    GO BRONCOS
