    Give #25 to Syd’Quan! LenDale is done…

  2. berlownacyo7s says:

    thank god, 43 was horrid

  3. Yovi21 says:

But he will be back next year!

  4. Roddoliver says:

Sign Blount and drop White :p

  5. footballMANIAC says:

Good! 22 is a good number for Broncos CBs, it was Dominique Foxworth. And it was Hillis. I think there was someone else at 22 recently, too…

  6. whitebronco#1 says:

Thank all the gods we’re finally here, at just a few paces from the season! It’s always a nice mental exercise to get the new numbers with the new faces. Anyway, this team is quite stranger than I thought it’d be.

    Go Broncooos!

  7. BeastFromEast92 says:

You don’t kick a guy off the team cause he’s hurt,White will be back and is a good 3rd down RB,we suppose to get rid of Doom too,he’s hurt????

  8. BeastFromEast92 says:

Thanks for the # upgrades Mr. Caldwell.

    I thought W.Williams was cut???

  9. BeastFromEast92 –

Worrell Williams was released on Saturday but signed to the practice squad on Sunday.

  10. denver0723 says:

I am getting excited for Sunday to get here! I hope we come out strong and play good football. I’m going to stay optimistic and stand behind McD and the players we are putting on the field against the Jags. We are a better team than last year, and I hope the scoreboard will reflect that.

    Gooooo Broncos!!!!!!!!

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

Thanks for the info Mr. Caldwell.

  12. trueonbfan says:

Darrent Williams was #27. And why would the Broncos sign a loser like Blount. The guy is going to end up in prison. I personally would like to see them sign Ian Johnson from Boise State. He was cut by the Vikings and has not been picked up yet. Not sure why they signed Andre Brown another player coming off injury.

Either way…can’t wait for the season to finally be getting started!!!

    BRONCOS…TEAM OF THIS DECADE!!!

    +1

  14. MANDIEGO says:

It seems like most of the other teams in the league are signing some good “role” players and we are losing them. This coaching staff has the worst eye for talent I have seen since Al Davis! Why in the world does this coaching “nightmare” regime continue to add high risk players dealing with injuries. Have the draft picks this year not been enough of an example?

I would love to stay optimistic about this season, but anyone with half a brain can see that the team is weak, the scheme is weak, and what makes it hurt so much is that for the first time in a few seasons our schedule is actually weak!

  15. NOTHINGSAFE91 says:

MANDIEGO: you are obvioulsy not a true broncos fan. I dont even think Lions fans were ever that freakin negative

  16. MANDIEGO says:

Not true. I’m a huge fan. I just find that I don’t agree with the personal decisions. I don’t understand them. You can’t sit there and tell me your satisfied with that this team has done in the past 5 years. They just keep spinning their wheels. The philosophy of drafting the best player available, regardless of position is pretty stupid. IMHO Maybe I could agree with it if they would end up trading that player and getting value out of them, but they have not and will most likely continue to squander away talent.

  17. nevillejames says:

NOTHINGSAFE91: Even true Bronco fans can see truth. The truth is that in 2 years, McDaniels has ripped the heart and core of offensive talent out of this team. He has gotten rid of virtually every high talent weapon he inhereted. If he has a vision, then he seems to be the only one who really sees it. Granted he came from a team that made a living on replaceable parts( at one point the Pats used a WR as a CB in certain situations). I think he is trying to build that here, but so far all I see him building is a permanent bottom dweller in the AFC West. Yes we do have some talent and explosive ability, but the best of it was traded away.

  18. MANDIEGO says:

nevillejames: Thank you. Exactly what I am saying.

  19. Yovi21 says:

Your entitled to your opinion MANDIEGO, but I have to respectfully disagree, Denver has made some good draft grabs IMO, last year I will give you wasn’t the best draft but this years pick-ups with Tebow (who will be HUGE), Thomas (Who will be good), Syd (Punt return guru), Cox (budding superstar), and Decker (Eddy Mac reincarnated) were awesome, We won’t be the best this year, but we are finally turning into McD’s team and thats where things will start to differ from last year.I’m sorry you don’t have faith, this will be another average to above average season, but we are getting there and I personally feel we are on the right track!

  20. danso says:

What is wromg with the draft picks this year? Decker, Walton, Beatles, Thompson, Cox, Tebow all looking good and I believe Thomas will be great once healed. No one can pick 100% correct. Look at any team’s draft picks and see how many are not in the league after a short time. I’m sure team McD has made talent pick errors like most coaching staffs. At least he is smart enough to cut bait and get rid of the mistakes.

  21. danso says:

    Trueonbfan
I suggested Ian Johnson a couple days ago and was quickly told he is too small at 212 # I still like his grit and toughness.

  22. MANDIEGO says:

The problem with “we are getting there” is that you probably have been saying that for the past 5 years. “OHHHHHH yes!!!! We drafted Cutler, super bowl here we come.” Sound familiar. No change the spelling from C-U-T-L-E-R to T-E-B-O-W.

I like Tebow and I do think he will be good, someday, but McD doesn’t have three years to develop him, and quarterback is not our problem. The media, and experts and fans have been saying it for years now. We have no line play, and until we can run for 6″ to get a first down we are going to struggle.

  23. RSH says:

What a second, MANDIEGO and nevillejames. Let’s give McDaniels some credit for some of the positive things he has done. He rebuilt a horrendous secondary in a year’s time last season with Brian Dawkins, Ronaldo Hill, and Andre Goodman to pair with Champ Bailey. McDaniels then found two late round gems in Perrish Cox and SydQuan Thompson along with undrafted rookie Cassius Vaughn. McDaniels has also found some talent on the offensive side of the ball this draft in Eric Decker, Zane Beadles, J.D. Walton, Tim Tebow and Demariyus Thomas–if he can get healthy. There is a lot of upside to Knowshon Moreno, Robert Ayers, Darcel McBath and David Bruton from last year’s draft as well.

That said, Denver definitely must address its defensive line and depth at outside linebacker in the 2011 draft. I will also admit that McDaniels and Brian Xanders have made their fair share of mistakes–namely, on Alphonso Smith and possibly on Ryan Quinn in last year’s draft. The signing of Jarvis Green was wasteful, but unlike McDaniels’ predecessor, at least, McDaniels was willing to put the best guys on the roster, not necessarily the ones with the highest price tag.

Futhermore, a lot of the negativity you may be feeling right now has nothing to do with McDaniels’ personnel decisions. The injuries suffered by Elvis Dumervil and Ryan Clady were freak accidents that he had absolutely no control over.

To liken the Broncos’ personnel decisions to some of the gaffes the Raiders have made recently (I will admit, the Raiders had a solid 2010 draft, however) is a bit over dramatic. Remember, before the 2009 season started, many opined that Denver would be lucky to win three or four games. Some said, they would have the worst record in the NFL. They finished 8-8, which obviously was not great considering the 6-0 start, but it did prove that the mainstream media knows about as much as each of us does concerning how well the Broncos or any team will fare once games are played. Give McDaniels time. He is a good coach with a lot of potential, who has hit more than he has missed.

  24. MANDIEGO says:

Thomas is a huge question mark. I haven’t even seen him play a single down. Do we even know how serious his injury is. If he fractured his Talus he may never fully recover.

If he is Marshall like, why didn’t we just keep Marshall and draft a solid D-lineman, of LB. Spinning our wheels…

  25. MANDIEGO says:

Sorry for the negativity. I said my peace and now I’m over it.

I’m just bored and this blog is so slow. All I really want to do is get jacked up and talk some football.

  26. RSH says:

I have a hard time trusting anyone on a Denver Broncos’ site with the name Diego within his or her handle. You aren’t a Charger troll, MANDIEGO?

  27. denver0723 says:

“If he is Marshall like, why didn’t we just keep Marshall and draft a solid D-lineman, of LB. Spinning our wheels…”

You sound like you are still bitter over the departures of players like Marshall, Cutler, and Scheff. This talk about losing talent and everything else.

Get over it. We don’t need either one of those punks. McD is building a team that I think can win games. We don’t need divas, we need team players working for a common goal. And McD has done an amazing job of finding high character guys to play for this franchise.

I am standing behind McD. He has made his mistakes, but it is only his second year as a HC and his second year with the Broncos. We will get there.

  28. MANDIEGO says:

I told the story of the name awhile back. I hate the flipin chargers. I went to SD for a vacation and to watch a Bronco game. I had always been told how the women in SD were amazing. But when I was there all I saw was dudes. Dudes with tats and lifted trucks. They were everywhere. I swear there was like 1 girl to every 10 guys. Thus spawning the name MANDIEGO.

  29. denver0723 says:

Negativity forgiven. If ya wanna talk football lets talk football and get excited for the orange and blue. The negativity is just gonna get everyone (myself included) angry and riled up.

  30. MANDIEGO says:

Bruce Hall, offensive lineman Jeff Byers and defensive lineman Lionel Dotson

  31. denver0723 says:

Glad to see Hall back with us. I thought he played well for us this preseason. We still need a big powerback. I wouldn’t mind seeing us add more young depth on the DLine either. I don’t know if we need better players, or better schemes, but we need to stop the run this year. It has been a problem for us since the Shanny era.

  32. oldsouthstander says:

Some very interesting changes in the offensive depth chart. Daniels is now starting LG, Gronkowski (sp) is ahead of Quinn and Decker is backing up Royal. Looks like McD was very, very disappointed in Beadles progress as he’s now Harris’s backup with Hockenstein backing up center and both guard positions.

  33. MANDIEGO says:

Must stop the run, and MJD is coming at us real quick. It must be the scheme because our secondary can hold their own which should make the run D better.

While its great that a lot of our D line can play multiple positions, I think the lack of consistency and familiarity with the guy playing next you has been a big part of the problem.

  34. MANDIEGO says:

At LB DJ is great don’t get me wrong, but we are lacking that ROMO toughness. That guy that once or twice a game just blasts somebody. I thought that woodyard was going to be that guy, but he hasn’t been.

  35. O&BinCostaRica says:

The single most disappointing bit of the depth chart is Quinn still #2 QB. Tebow should be #2 because of the energy and intangibles. If Orton goes down we’re in deep sh.. anyway. I’d say, if Orton goes down, put in Tebow and also in special situations. Quinn did not demonstrate anything above merely below average IMO. This way you don’t dress 3 QBs for Sundays and can have another specialist, one more DL or OL, etc. Far more important spots than a clipboard bearing 3rd QB.

  36. MANDIEGO says:

I agree Quinn was and is a waste of space. However, Tebow is not ready, and until the line is solidified and the run game gets going I would rather have Quinn out there getting smacked around. Let Tebow mature and learn, while keeping him healthy. With this team as it is now, he is not needed.

  37. denver0723 says:

I think Gronkowski moved up cuz he is our new pass catching TE. Quinn is our main blocking TE so he will be used more in our goal line sets. I too am surprised by the OL changes. I didn’t think Beadles was too bad so we will see how hard he works to get back in the starting line up. He is still only a rookie tho.

Anyone else surprised to see Jason Hunter move ahead of Jarvis Moss?

  38. strandoftds says:

I think Tebow should be 2nd string for the wild horses. enough said.

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

DJ and Hunter both have played good in preseason, but if you ask me Ayers and Mays have outplayed all of the LBs.IMO

Graham is our main blocking TE,and Beadles has been playing poorly,IMO.

  40. thatdude807 says:

Mcds haven’t been good at picking O-linemen except for Walton…. he’s been good at picking other positions

  41. RSH says:

thatdude807, I think it’s a little early to be writing off Zane Beadles just yet.

  42. Stebbyfan says:

There has to be an issue with the off season training. Sure the Clady and Dumervil could be considered “freak accidents,” but when more and more players keep getting hurt because of “unpredictable” accidents, it shows their bodies aren’t prepared for contact. Once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, three times (in the broncos case, at least eleven) is a pattern. I don’t know who the Broncos’ trainers are, and they often get a lot of credit for getting the injured players back quickly, but there is something severely wrong in the way the organization conducts its strength and conditioning exercises.

  43. RSH says:

Clady’s injury occurred while playing basketball. A man his weight should not be playing basketball. No conditioning would have changed that. Dumervil’s injury occurred during a standard pass rush drill. I agree that strength and conditioning should be looked at, but it’s no guarantee to guard against major injuries played by large men at high speeds.

  44. Big D 44 says:

Well once again all of the football anaysts around the league are picking the Broncos to finishg 3rd or 4th in the AFC west. They were wrong last year, lets all hope they are wrong again. I’m not easily dicouraged but this offseason has been pretty rough in my opinion. I do agree that the future is bright for this team. But I for one am sick of waiting for next year. Maybe its my competitive nature. Its hard for me to accept that we will be mediocre this year, even though all arrows are pointing in that direction. UNLESS WE START GETTING 100% HEALTHY, FAST!!! Just no respect out there right now. It bothers me, but the Broncos have to show these critics up. At any rate I think its going to be an interesting year. Hopefully, the balls will start boucing our way.

  45. Broncos4ever80 says:

We Traded Alponso! I liked him! BUt whatever, Lets Go Broncos!

  46. Drunkenbronc says:

Mcd inherited the number 1 ranked offensive line in the league. Least penalized and least amount of sacks given up. This wasn’t a typical 2-14 team that new coaches inherit. It was a surprise fire-hire. Mcd may have done some good things but I see failure at handling the oline. Power running? I see no power running. Clady was bred at Boise st to zone block. Mix it up a little cause the zero yard gains are getting old. How many times have we seen a fail at 3 and short this preseason and last year? Big mistake to change that. And it’s not a coincidence u get rid of a rb and te, then have those positions become a problem

  47. footballMANIAC says:

Haha don’t worry Broncos4ever80, I had a three-week delayed reaction when we lost Barrett.

  48. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Just to support what mandiego said and i know we have moved on but in his defense he said in the last 5 years not in the last 2 years which means he was counting the shanny era. but alot has happened in the last 2 years.

The same way we were quick to point out why shanny didnt cut it, we should be able to with McD. Sure he needs more time but he is not approaching it like a rookie head coach. Shanny for example in Redskins is. A team that is worse than the one McD inherited. Shanny made sure he got a veteran QB that is proven. That can help win now and show what he is capable of before he starts truly experimenting. But maybe McD and Bowlen had a 5 year buffer agreement or something lol. But yes, McD has done good too. But getting A injured WR in the first round to replace a proven beast is just silly. And trading a recieving TE and then getting one from the same team we trade our receiving TE to is silly. Trading a first round pick for a second. always silly. But this year, woulda loved if we got pouncey and Tebow and bypassed thomas with or without Bmarshall. But thats just me. If McDs goal was for a team without a number 1 WR which is what he said with his own mouth 3 weeks or so ago, then Thomas was not Needed. Get what you Need. The best at what you need. In my opinion.

Anyway, was also hoping sydquan could get 25. He was number 5 in college, im sure he would have loved it. But he was on the team before white and when tony carter left he coulda gotten it if he wanted. He had some kind of rank i would think by being here longer but i guess he is still a rookie.

Like Mays and Hunter alot. They played well. Liked worrell too. He tried for a guy that pretty much didnt go through training camp. Practice Squad this year. Special teams next year. and soon If he improves he could be a starter. Anything is possible lol. TRB out….

  49. bronco-blaze says:

    nevillejames, and every one else,

I strongly have to disagree. People constantly remind me of cutler and Marshall saying the exact same thing you guys are stating. However, ill reply the same way i do to them. Mcdaniels is helping this team more than hurting it IMHO. He got rid of non team players or found a I in team. He got rid of distractions and a winning attitude. If we had such a great squad why were we 8-8 for 3 years in a row? I know it looks grim for us, lets face it, talent wise we may be behind a little. BUT THATS ON PAPER! Last i checked on paper doesnt mean SHI*. I remember when we picked up dre bly. Every 1 was freaking out saying our defense was the most beast thing. Fail. On paper we had every weapon on offense 2006-2008. ANd stat wise we did, but where did it lead us? I feel with WINNERS and people with great attitudes we will go further than we ever could with cry baby turn over machine CUTLER, who talked the talked but obviously couldn’t win more than 8 games and costing us alot. IM still not sold on orton being our franchise but i have every feeling in the world hell go out there and do his best for us, and for that i respect the hell out of him and the rest of the players that do the same.

Lets face it, this isn’t the Denver Broncos of 2000-2009. This is a new team full of winners and hidden talent that will blow every one away soon. Weather it will be this year or next.

  50. Yovi21 says:

WOOO! I like that post blaze, all I have to say is give Mcd time, he will do great things but we cant take the raider approach and fire a coach if he has one or two bad seasons. It takes a few years to build a Super Bowl caliber team!

    GO BRONCOS!!!
