Monday was the final day of fan voting for the Pro Bowl, and we asked Broncos fans for one final push to have Denver represented.
Well, your voices were heard.
At the close of voting, eight Broncos were among the top five at their respective positions in the AFC.
Tim Tebow is No. 3 among quarterbacks, Willis McGahee is No. 5 among running backs, Elvis Dumervil is No. 3 among defensive ends, Von Miller is No. 2 among outside linebackers, Champ Bailey is No. 4 among cornerbacks, Brian Dawkins is No. 3 among strong safeties, Matt Prater is No. 4 among kickers and Britton Colquitt is the No. 2 AFC punter.
Bailey said he can think of a few more Broncos that he hopes make the final list, including Ryan Clady, Chris Kuper and D.J. Williams.
“There’s a lot,” he said of deserving candidates.
Players and coaches account for the other two thirds of the Pro Bowl voting equation, and Bailey said the players take that responsibility seriously.
“You want to make sure the people that deserve it get in, not just somebody we know,” he said. “You look at the whole body of work people do and go from there.”
The final teams will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 5 p.m. MST on a special NFL Total Access 2012 Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network.
The game will be played on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.
VERSATILE BILLS PROVIDE CHALLENGE
When Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen was asked about the problems the Bills present on offense, he was quick to point out the unit’s versatility.
“I think when they’re really good and clicking, they’ve got a good combination of run and pass,” he said. “I think they try to spread you out, get into a lot of opened-up sets, and obviously — lately it’s been [RB] C.J. Spiller; previously it was [RB] Fred Jackson — they spread you out, and they make you execute in the running game. [QB Ryan] Fitzpatrick does a nice job of getting the ball in the right spots and getting the ball out of his hands and not letting you get to him.”
Champ Bailey said he plans to treat Spiller like a wide receiver if he goes out wide, as he has the kind of speed that makes him “special.”
But he’s also focused on an actual Bills receiver, Stevie Johnson, who has 68 receptions for 872 yards and six touchdowns this season.
“He’s tough, and watching him on tape – I watched the Jets game and Chargers game – their corners had a hard time with him,” Bailey said. “One thing he’s good at is getting off the ball and making people kind of look stupid. If we can just limit those plays, especially down the field, we can do a good job against him.”
Fortunately for the Broncos, Allen said, they have the “luxury” of a Pro Bowl cornerback in Bailey to help neutralize some of those threats.
“Any time you’ve got a guy that can kind of say, ‘You go take care of that guy, and we’ll worry about all the rest of them,’ it makes your job easier as a coordinator, and it makes our job easier as a defense,” Allen said. “We’ve been fortunate to have a guy like that, and he still plays at an elite level, and we’re going to continue to try to use him the best way we can.”
INJURY REPORT
After missing last Sunday’s game, Brian Dawkins was limited in the first practice this week. But he said he’s feeling better.
“Going in the right direction,” he said. “Things are feeling better and better so we’ll see.”
Here is the full Broncos injury report:

Wow Strand – that was a fine job of holding down the fort. You killed it, but kept it alive until the ambulance arrived.
So we were home team and up by 9 at the bottom of the sixth. Safe right? We let them score 17 and then 3 up/down for a loss. I’ve got to wear a different Broncos shirt to these games!!! I know – I’ll hit them with the number 15 Orange Jersey!!!!
It’s Tebow Time!!!
My advice SD 30. Don’t do those little hammer jobs or massages. I don’t care how much it hurts – I just don’t want to have to come back!!! Give me the rack!!! (I always look for the biggest Chiropractor that I can find)
Haha daddy, no hammer job here. I do all my work by hand, nothing like a good manual adjustment by hand. I do have a massage therapist but that is for muscle work of course. You have to see me to set that joint!
SD 30 – I like the way you talk. I ever get out your way I’m gonna look you up and throw my financial support into that new marriage of yours.
Thank you daddy, I appreciate it. I am always here for whoever I can help. Also I always want to meet more Broncos fans! I guess I better head to bed. I have to be to work early. Have a great night. Looking forward to talking more sometime.
My story starts about 6-2, 6-3 in the first season of the McEra…i was constantly digging for news about my beloved Broncos. The post, MHR, ESPN, NFL.com, here even. It’s funny too. Because when I first started getting on the official website, I avoided the blog. Lol!
(We or I shall not mention anything about my stance on Orton other than I’m rooting for him this weekend).
It was a entry by Mr. Saccomano that actually grabbed my attention. And the comments that followed basically told me this IS the best place for current/any/all news Denver Broncos. I mostly read and didn’t start posting until a good 6 months later. Which was right around our record I mentioned above. Lol! And have been a regular contributor since. Even though I took quite a bit of heat in the beginning.
As for my story. 33 y/o, single father of a 21 month old son. Paramedic. Live in Chicagoland. My family are original settlers in Colorado, Lifelong Broncos fans and season ticket holders!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
Just finished watching again on ESPN the segment where Tim is miced up. Man, is that kid awesome! And I think he’s a pretty darn good quarterback too.
GO BRONCOS!!
The details of my life are quite inconsequential… very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we’d make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum… it’s breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.
But I have been commenting on these boards since 2006 or so.
A friend of mine made a comment about his Facebook page. Saying he noticed a couple of his friends were subscribed to Tebow on Facebook and he asked if I was. I told him no, Why? He then said “IDK, he won’t be a story in two years”…
Around these parts, games played on ice recall Lambeau Field, not Madison Square Garden, but the NFL-NHL bridge was gapped Tuesday thanks to — you guessed it — Tim Tebow .
When Toronto Maple Leafs right wing Colton Orr scored a shootout goal during a team scrimmage on Leafs Nation Fan Night at Air Canada Centre, he played to a packed house by skating to a stop and Tebowing — the act of taking a silent knee in prayer, as the Broncos quarterback is known to do.
According to center Tyler Bozak, Orr wasn’t the only Maple Leaf planning to strike a pose.
“I’m a Tebow fan, too, and I thought about doing it,” Bozak told the Toronto Star after the game. “(Orr) knew he was going to score — he’s a breakaway guy, he’s a breakaway specialist.”
And with that, we now return to the rich and vast territory of the National Football League.

Hey I just came across a quote that fills me with confidence going into this Bills game.
“You lose this many games in a row, we all get criticism,” Gailey said. “There’s nobody that escapes criticism when you’re doing what we’re doing right now.”
That’s the head coach right there. Sounds like the wheels have come off and everyone is pointing fingers.
Alex? Did you just suggest us male bloggers should use a razor near a highly sensitive body region?… Now that’s some buggery!
lol. It’s an Austin Powers quote.
Jeeze. It seems like there is always something weird in the afc west these past years. Last year you had KC’s worst to first, the Raiders sweeping the division and not winning it (first time ever), and the Chargers with the 1st ranked offense and 2nd ranked defense missing the playoffs.
This year you have all 4 teams still in contention for the afc west crown with only 2 games left. When has that ever happened before?
One subplot emerging from Week 15 is that each team in the AFC West remains in the hunt for the division title. So how will the west be won?
At 8-6, the Denver Broncos are the only team which controls its own destiny. Simply put, if Denver wins out, it makes the playoffs (although there are other scenarios in which it gets in).
The Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs each need to win out and get some help.
In addition to finishing 2-0:
• Oakland needs the Chiefs to beat the Broncos in Week 17.
• San Diego needs the Broncos to lose out
• Kansas City needs the Broncos to lose out and have the Chargers lose one of its last two games
With the scenarios in mind, here are a few things to watch for in Week 16:
BRONCOS (8-6) at BILLS (5-9), SATURDAY AT 1 ET
Despite its loss at home to the Patriots, Denver still has a five-game road win streak, which is its longest since a six-game road win streak in 1998.
Tim Tebow
If the Broncos intend on keeping that streak alive, the offense needs to cut down on the sacks allowed. Tim Tebow has been sacked once every 10.3 dropbacks, which is the second-worst in the NFL behind only Kevin Kolb. When lining up under center, no quarterback has been sacked more than Tebow who has been sacked once every 9.0 dropbacks.
Luckily for Tebow, the Bills have just five sacks on 219 dropbacks from under center, easily the fewest in the NFL.
RAIDERS (7-7) at CHIEFS (6-8), SATURDAY AT 1 ET
The Raiders head to Arrowhead in what is essentially a playoff elimination game. The Chiefs won the first matchup this year 28-0 as they picked off six Raiders passes (three each by Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer).
Carson Palmer
The Raiders are taking on water fast, having lost three straight. One of their issues of late has been finding any consistency with the vertical passing game. Over his last five starts, Carson Palmer is just three of 17 on throws traveling at least 21 yards downfield, failing to complete a pass in three of those five games.
The Chiefs will not be an easy team to buck that trend against. Since their Week 7 matchup in Oakland, Kansas City is allowing quarterbacks to complete just 22.2 pct of their passes traveling at least 21 yards downfield, which is the third-best mark in the NFL.
CHARGERS (7-7) at LIONS (9-5), SATURDAY AT 4:05 ET
The Chargers are once again on a roll in December, having won three straight following their six-game losing streak. Since Norv Turner took over in 2007, the Chargers are 20-2 in the regular season in the months of December and January, the best record in the NFL.
Philip Rivers
After struggling for much of the season, Philip Rivers has picked his game up. He has four touchdowns and no interceptions in his last three games on throws at least 15 yards downfield, completing a league-best 69.2 percent of his throws. In his first 11 games, Rivers threw six touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing just 45.5 percent on those throws.
that was from http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post?id=34818
Found a stupid quote from http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post?id=34818
“Around the league, the tight end position is a dynamic source of offensive production.
Look at New Orleans’ Jimmy Graham, the NFC leader in receptions (87), or New England’s Rob Gronkowski, who already has the most TD catches ever in a season by a tight end (15).
However, the tight end revolution hasn’t materialized quite yet in Denver.”
The “tight end revolution” STARTED in Denver, with a certain HoFer by the name of Shannon Sharpe.
Morning Everyone………..

sndvl- not sure what your friend would be talking about with regards to Tebows facebook page. I read it and he just usually posts bible verses on game day and then some things here and there thanking fans, Happy Thanksgiving I’m sure a Merry Christmas will come soon, and things about his foundations and projects. It is pretty normal stuff.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — For all of the buzz he’s generated, not even the presence of Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow could prevent the Buffalo Bills’ home game against Denver Saturday from being blacked out on local television.
The Bills announced Wednesday they still had about 24,000 tickets left for their final home game of the season. Buffalo closes its season having its last three home games blacked out.
The team traditionally has had difficulty selling out games past Thanksgiving. And it doesn’t help that the Bills (5-9) are in the midst of a seven-game skid that’s knocked them out of playoff contention.
The Bills also had three home games blacked out last season.
The Broncos (8-6) control their own destiny in their bid to clinch the team’s first playoff berth since 2005.

Hopefully we’ll have a few extra Broncos fans show up for the game as it wouldn’t be a problem to get some tickets. Tough with the Holidays though.
Hello Bronco Brothers,
51 hours till Kickoff!!!
)
)
TRB & kod – You guys are right on with utilizing JJ a little more this weekend, plus Ball. Looks like McGahee will play, but we all know he’s somewhat dinged up.
Bills rush defense ranked 29th so we should be able to get the running game going.
I don’t understand blackouts. What does it mean exactly? And if there is a blackout, does that mean the game won’t be shown anywhere, or just in the local area of the home team?
The fact that the home Team was not able to sell out for their local game will usually determine if they are blacked out, meaning they will not be televised to the local audience. (Upstate NY area). Buffalo is a small media market so they depend on their fans to show up and support the Team.
If the home team don’t sell out all their tickets, the game is blacked out in that area.Sometimes it’s blacked out in a large area, like many states surrounding that city!
rbf1 beat me to it,lol.
WOW….missed out on all the real life stories of a lot of bloggers, good thing I guess, nobody would want to hear about my life anyway, lol.
