Safety Rahim Moore isn’t slow to admit that at times, he struggled last year.
“I’ve had some good and bad (experiences), majority bad,” Moore laughed.
He’s over it. The only reason Moore looks back on his 2011 season is to learn from it.
“You just get better,” Moore said. “You watch (the film), but at the same time you have to move on. It’s not like you harp or get mad about it. You just get better. Because at the same time, there were some advantages that I didn’t have last year compared to previous rookies. Now, it’s no excuses. I’m just trying to make plays and win games. That’s it.”
As a rookie, Moore started the first five regular season games last year for the Broncos, but then just two of the final 11 games. Fellow rookie Quinton Carter replaced him at the starting safety position. But with the first official depth chart almost a week old, the former UCLA Bruin is back at No. 1 and playing with the first unit.
“Now, I’m inspired,” Moore said. “I’m more inspired and more motivated than I’ve ever been. Last year, I was training just to get ready for the NFL. This year, I’m training for an NFL season. It’s a difference.”
Although Carter is out with an injury, Moore said he expects him to return “fully strong, fully healthy, and ready to roll.” With Carter’s return will be some competition for playing time at safety. But for Moore, competition is nothing new, and certainly nothing negative.
“(The competition) isn’t only with me and him, but across the country,” Moore said. “I’m competing with guys out here on this team, the other 32 teams, even guys in high school and college. This is a competitive world. It’s America. Everybody’s competing at something. It helps with me and (Quinton) but at the same time, you want to compete with yourself.”
Moore said earlier in camp that he was receiving some advice from former Broncos safeties Brian Dawkins and John Lynch.
But with Dawkins’ retirement this offseason, he’s taken ninth-year safety Mike Adams as a mentor in the secondary.
“(He has taught me) so much,” Moore said. “I learn stuff from him every day, every meeting. I ask him more questions than anybody I’ve ever asked.
He’s been a blessing in my life. I really thank God for him.”
Shared knowledge has been a great tool for Moore’s progression this offseason. Though he’ll continue to absorb as much as he can from Broncos’ veterans and coaches, the second-year safety believes he is fully equipped to be the Broncos’ starting safety in 2012.
“A lot of guys help me out, and it’s been a long process,” Moore said. “But I’m ready.”

I`m sure that Moore will put it together this year.
Got to fix my comeback bbbp because apparently I had the wrong info. I say by he end of the season Peyton Manning is the king of comebacks and has more than any QB ever.
So Peytons next TD once the regular season begins is 400 right?
Yes!! I think Dan Marino has 420 so he’ll demolish that one and then he’s got to play some more ears to catch Favre because he’s over 500 I think
*years
Cat, its a done deal.
This is what John Elway was talking about. Making him the best ever. I hope he is feeling ok. I got a little worked up by all the batted down passes yesterday but then, everyone has bad days. The other days he’d been doing very well so I need to let it go and not worry about it. If he gets hurt or can’t play I’m still proud for him to be a Bronco.
He`ll be fine.
Yes it would be and this year we are def poised to make some real noise bronco country stand up
BUT! Mile High will be rocking when he throws a TD pass on Saturday. I’m kind of glad his first TD pass as a Bronco will be @ home!
Up close and personal, first hand. LOL
You bet! I can’t wait! Have to be there early so I can cheer for them when they come out of the tunnel and while they’re practicing. Orange crush is back! I cannot wait to see those orange uniforms!!!
Cat, I sent you an email.
Gotta love those uniforms!
Did you send it to t L c or t i c? It should be tLc
Tic
Well, Gotta start over. LOL
Sorry ;-( its so hard to tell the difference on here.
No biggie. Whoever received it will have a surprise. LOL
Well its been a while since I’ve been on but with the start of the preseason I decided to come check out what my Bronco brothers had to say.
Im gonna go resend it. It`ll be a bit. LOL
Does anyone know what happened to Quinton Carters knee?
Quinton Carter’s knee: http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_21231399/broncos-safety-quinton-carter-has-knee-surgery
All I know!
And how have we got Lance Ball at #2 on the depth chart? He is 4 at best behind Willis, Knowshawn, and Hillman. And maby even 5th best if Johnson can step his game up.
Royalt I looooved our first preseason game. I think we showed a lot of depth in lots if positions. Our tackling was good and our run game was solid.
IMO, I think that our RB depth should look like this: McGahee Hillman Ball Omon…
Yeah. And Brock had a pretty good game aswell. I loved the pass down the middle of the feild for a TD. It was delivered perfectly between 2 defenders. I think the guy has a future in the league if he can keep that up.
No knowshawn?? He is a pretty good back when he isn’t injured; which IMO is probably why you don’t have him in your top 4.
I think the highlight of thurs besides Peyton Manning playing football again would have to be Brock and Omon. I think a few years behind Manning is going to make Brock dangerously talented.
correction “knowshon”. my bad
I am tired of giving Knowshon chances. He has had plenty, but continues to get hurt time after time.
I personally thin Cornelius Ingram stood out aswell. It seems like just yesterday we were all pumped up about the potential of Julius Thomas but now I hardly hear anything about the kid.
Yes he does but I am judging on a talent perspective.
Lance Ball seems to have no wow factor. He doesn’t break many tackles, can’t outrun the defense, and isn’t feared by any defense. He is just another RB who seems to have a good work ethic but not the ability.
True about Ball. Did you see Gronk helping us out on Thursday? It’ll be nice to have a good fullback back there
Didn’t really see that much of him. Well that I remember anyway
He had some nice blocks… But the whole game was like watching a completely different team.
Ball has potiential he did have a breakout seasn last and was 3rd in yards on the ground he might not be fast but he has decent field vision w ok hands and is good at pickin up blocks and knowshow has still yet to prove he is worth stayin on this team
I`m looking forward to seeing Hillman play.
Fl, that’s how I feel about Ball, why I like keeping him over Knowshon.
Royalt19, its been awhile.
Omon looked strong.
OK, Ticat06. LOL

I know he’s not in a Broncos uniform, but you can watch him run!
I`ll check it out now.
This one is against air force!!! Yeah!!! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3irxxvdfCcQ
Firefox won`t let me receive it, weird.
I`ll go straight to You tube myself and see what happens.
Ahhh… Evil Macintosh computers ruining your fun. Look for Ronnie Hillman vs. Air Force and you’ll see why Elway thinks he’s like Sproles.
Man, Brock has a weird throwing motion. (I had to move on and watch his videos next! LOL)
