Less than one week from the 2012 NFL season opener, the NFL Management Council and NFL Players Association have agreed to adopt 2012 Bylaw Proposals No. 2 and No. 6A, the NFL and NFLPA announced on Thursday.
Bylaw proposal No. 2 moves the trading deadline from Tuesday, October 16 – the Tuesday after Week 6 of the regular season – to Tuesday, October 30, the Tuesday after Week 8.
Bylaw proposal No. 6A permits clubs to re-activate one player from Reserve/Injured during the 2012 season, subject to certain restrictions.
Since this rule is being adopted after the cutdown to 75 players, for 2012 only, the NFL and NFLPA have agreed to a transition procedure that permits clubs to return to their 53-player active list one player placed on Reserve/Injured since the start of preseason training camp. This selection of that player must be made no later than 9:00 p.m. ET tomorrow, Friday, August 31.
Following the cutdown to 53 players, the new Reserve/Injured rule will work as follows:
- Only players with a “major injury” who are placed on Reserve/Injured after 4:00 p.m., New York time, on Tuesday, September 4, or thereafter during the season, will be eligible to be reactivated at a later time.
- A “major injury” is defined as an injury that renders the player unable to practice or play football for at least six weeks (42 calendar days) from the date of injury.
- Each team may reactivate only one player placed on Reserve/Injured after 4:00 p.m., New York time, on Tuesday, September 4. That player must be “designated for return” at the time the club places him on Reserve/Injured, and such designation shall appear on that day’s Personnel Notice.
- Such player is eligible to return to practice if he has been on Reserve/Injured for at least six weeks from the date he is placed on Reserve. He is eligible to return to the Active List if he has been on Reserve/Injured for at least eight weeks from the date he is placed on Reserve.
Under these new rules, any one of the current Broncos on Injured Reserve would be eligible to return later in the season — if they are brought back to the active roster by 7 p.m. MDT on Friday. Wide receiver D’Andre Goodwin, running back Mario Fannin, wide receiver Tyler Grisham and defensive end Jason Hunter are the current players on Denver’s Injured Reserve List.

Truth, Strand!!
John Wayne played DE at USC back in the days of old. He was a USC Trojan.
imready:
Good to see you back posting!
FTR
Strand, I didn’t know that!
Thanks FTR, I’ve been lurking in the weeds and keeping my big mouth shut.
Got my boat up for sale strand, very sad. Can’t work anymore, Doc is going to see I get disability. Too many health issues. Good news is, I’m still alive and kickin’!
Looking at this Seattle-Oakland game….. I really think Seattle might be able to challenge the 49ers. Dennis Allen face disgust me!!
Take care of yourself Imready! Bummer about getting rid of your boat.
Cat, John Waynes real name is Marian Morrison. He never started at USC and was only a backup DE. He sure is a great actor. Love John Wayne movies. LOL
Thanks strand , I’m in good hands. Stuff is only stuff. Boating and bad backs don’t go together. I’m somewhat looking forward to getting rid of stuff, less to worry about taking care of. I sold my 87 Jaguar XJS and my motorcycle about two months ago. Still have a 73 MGB and a 74 Triumph TR6 to sell , the boat and my old 5th wheel. Thruth is, I’ll be glad when it’s all gone. Hope to keep my 67 Alfa Romeo Duetto spider. Give me something to play with.
Half hour to game time!
Now thats a nice ole Triumph, cool
Heck ya, no blogging on my part during the game.
Yo imready have you heard the Neck songs by KK and OC?
FTR
It always seems like there is a “thing” that dampers the season. I want good referees calling the games! I say make them full time or pay them what they deserve!! Get the pension thing done before the season!! The replacements are like the movie a joke! So everyone goes through the lock out and finally agrees! Now us fans who pay a lot of $ to see a good game have to watch second hand Ref’s Dazed and confused. Get it fixed fast NFL!
Just me:
GO Broncos!!
The TR6 and the MGB are both very nice cars. TR6 has 51K miles and is a California car. MGB has about 60k and is a real head turner. I have people interested in both and the may be sold in the next week or two.
Agreed FTR. THE NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry. The NFL is flipping a nut over pennys. They are flat out rediculous, its pennys for goodness sakes.
You’re right FTR, it’s like the owners had to deal with the players union and they are giving in to the refs too!
Good luck imready.
Don’t know about the “neck ” songs FTR. I have bone loss there too so I’d better be careful how far I stick my neck out or I’ll have trouble there too!
Well guys and gals, Im off to the races. I`m ready to get this going. LOL
It will all work out strand , thanks for your kind thoughts. I’ve still got lots of toys to play with. I have been collecting vintage audio gear for about 10 years now. I have around 45 pairs of speakers , some big bruisers weighing in at 127lbs each. Lot’s of amps, turntables ,tape decks……..you name it, I’ve got it. I restore it , buy , sell ,trade. It’s a fun hobby and I could even electrocute myself so its pretty exciting too. Some of my old tube equipment has some very high working voltages, I think around 500-800v. Blew up a capacitor once and the parts hit the ceiling, some flew across the room and hit the wall 10ft away, that was exciting.
Enjoy the game everyone, imready is ready for some football. Nice chatting with you guys.
imready:

Man I gotta say I have been really watching Ayers and Jackson. Jackson has looked so much better. Quick off the snap and making plays. Working hard playing to the whistle. Ayers has looked slow off the snap out of place a couple times an has stopped playing before the whistle. Only good thing is he’s been near the QB a couple times. No big plays from him.
Also with that TD that’s is in Leonhard. He pushes flloyd into position to complete the catch. He didn’t keep teak o the ball very well on that and was just looking to make the hit.
Also on Ayers forgot to mention he got Carrie for 5 yards or so by the ball carrier before actually getting the tackle.
