NFL Games to Watch

November 20th, 2011 - 10:16am by Kenny Legan

With the Broncos’ Week 11 win in the rearview mirror, there are still plenty of intriguing games this week for Broncos fans to keep an eye on.

Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings
Mall of America Field
Sunday, 11 a.m. MST, CBS

The first game of interest features the current AFC West leader — the Raiders — and the Broncos’ Week 13 opponent — the Vikings. The Raiders are coming off a victory in San Diego last Thursday night that propelled them to the top of the division. This will be quarterback Carson Palmer’s fourth game with Oakland, as defensive end Jared Allen and the Vikings hope to get to him and get back on track after Monday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. An Oakland loss would mean Denver has at least a share of the division lead entering Week 12.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
Sun Life Stadium
Sunday, 11 a.m. MST, CBS

This is another game that features two Broncos 2011 opponents, one of whom the Broncos have already beaten in the Dolphins. Miami is riding a two-game winning streak, and a win over Buffalo would drop the Bills to 5-5 on the year, the same record as the Broncos. It’s also a chance to scout ahead to Week 16, when the Broncos and Bills will square off on Christmas Eve.

San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears
Soldier Field
Sunday, 2:15 p.m. MST, CBS

This game is of big interest to Broncos fans as it pits two of Denver’s next three opponents head-to-head. The Chargers are looking for a win, having lost four in a row. Meanwhile, the Bears are coming into this game on a four-game winning streak.

Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots
Gillette Stadium
Monday, 6:30 p.m. MST, ESPN

This Monday night matchup is a must-watch for Broncos fans. The Chiefs, Denver’s final regular season opponent, are coming into this game without their No. 1 quarterback in Matt Cassel, who was injured in the team’s Week 10 contest against the Broncos. Tyler Palko steps in, hoping to lead Kansas City to an upset over Denver’s Week 15 opponent — New England.

game is bizarre so far (announcer) – very defensive.

  2. baylinorcrush says:

See, LMAO, it’s actually hilarious, it’s like I’m watching one flew over the Cuckoo’s nest, hahahaha!

  3. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

    LOL!

  4. baylinorcrush says:

Talking about something funny, I think I’m gonna go watch the Eagles for a while.

hello bronco bros. miss my broncos this weekend even though we played and won on thursday. cant wait for the sd game. also caught up on some blogs. see some old foes are back. some things never change.

  6. daddybronc says:

this one looks like the fights – where a football game breaks out.

  7. socalbigbroncofan says:

daddybronc. how u doing. get much rain today. just started for us. good day to stay inside to watch football.

  8. daddybronc says:

socal – we’ve been drizzly all day. Warm enough that I didn’t wear a coat. The sycamore in my front yard has turned fall colors and the day had a weird eerie glow all afternoon long like an extended sunset – pretty cool and beautiful. I’m sitting in front of a fireplace fire with my laptop on my lap watching football – eating a turkey leg – life is good!!!

  9. daddybronc says:

    back to Eagles – 0/0

  10. Bronco_Turtle says:

DB… to those who would bring maturing defense I would say to them that the reason for their maturity is because of the position the Tebow puts them in by not turning the ball over etc… this is semantical, as all Orton/Tebow debates will be… but the fact that Tebow makes everyone play harder can not be debated, as the players themselves have stated multiple times…

Our defense is playing Amazing, and for that I am Thankful…
The Broncos are Winning, for that I am Thankful…
Von Miller is a Scary Scary Man, for that I am Thankful…
Tim Tebow Wins Games, for that I am Thankful…

The Era of VON TEBOW is something we should all be Thankful for… Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl (with a Mean Defense and not turning over the ball)… I really don’t want to have to expand on this but I can…

:o ) Three Cheers for Cutler… Defeating Rivers… Tough to cheer for him but I did! I hope Chi beat Oak, and KC as well…

  11. socalbigbroncofan says:

sounds good. starting thanksgiving early. lol.
glax-dont care for u like many other bloggers do or dont for that matter. and the less i knew u were back then better for me. yet i dont know who i am talking to cause i dont beleive in trolls.

  12. socalbigbroncofan says:

vy looks uncomfortable. think the giants will take this one. is maclin playing he has had a great year.

  13. daddybronc says:

Vy – as lead blocker!!! Tebow wouldn’t have gone to the ground!

  14. daddybronc says:

VY looks like he’s been watching too many football games.

  15. daddybronc says:

Funny how easy it is for me to watch and comment on this game where I could care less the outcome. Just can’t comment during a Bronco game.

  16. socalbigbroncofan says:

vy could never get it together. dont know if he will ever be a starter again.

  17. daddybronc says:

When I follow college ball I’m a USC fan. VY was that guy who made Reggie Bush – Lienhart and company look like children. Recall the play where VY has two USC defenders hanging on him. He steps into his throw and completes the TD pass just like USC wasn’t even on the field.

VY’s problem is he is a child in a huge body.

  18. daddybronc says:

    3 and 1 – no!!! can’t get it.

  19. socalbigbroncofan says:

me too daddybronco. hard to blog with the game on. plus i get the nfl ticket. pay too much to blog when the game is on.

  20. socalbigbroncofan says:

i remember that game. although i dont follow college until the end of the year to see the new draft prospects.

  21. sndvl says:

    Reported on ESPN.com
Kay Cutler suffered a broken thumb on his throwing hand in today’s game against the eggo waffles.

    Lol

  22. socalbigbroncofan says:

wonder if she is related to jay cutler. lol

  23. Broncos Born & Raised says:

I need Desean Jackson to keep his numbers low. I’m projected to win in my fantasy league by 3 points. The final match up it’s coming down to: Victor Cruz vs. Desean Jackson haha

  24. socalbigbroncofan says:

bbr, i have desean jackson on my fantasy benched him a couple of weeks ago. hes been dissapointing this year.

  25. sndvl says:

Should have said “her” thumb. Lol

Auto correct was wrong. (or was it?) lmao.

  26. OrangeTsunami says:

Jake Locker had a good game today filling in for an injured Hasselbeck, I read somewhere that Jake was Elway’s favorite QB in last years draft..

Nice to see Herzlich get the start tonight!

  27. socalbigbroncofan says:

sndvl, auto correct must be a bronco fan. lol

  28. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Wow, you’re right. He’s been atrocious since week 6. No offense but I hope he keeps the trend going haha. My game is down to the wire!

  29. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Now I’m projected 99 and my opponent is projected 97 points. In the games I’ve started him in Victor Cruz has scored most of his points in the second half. Especially when the Giants are trailing.

  30. sndvl says:

And why would Cutler be mad at Bowlen baylin? Cutler is the one that didn’t return his phone call when that situation was going down.

I know if I didn’t call the person who signed my paychecks……

  31. sndvl says:

    Lol SoCal

  32. socalbigbroncofan says:

i hope miller sacks jay several times.

  33. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Yeah socal I hope Miller puts the hurtin’ on ‘em and gives him a real reason to frown.

  34. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Sweet Cruz scored a few more points for me before half time. I have an 8 point lead. Hopefully the Eagles run it a lot now that they’re ahead.

  35. socalbigbroncofan says:

funny when jay was here i was a huge cutler fan but since he left (and he did have a chance to stay)i cant stand him. been waiting for him to come back to denver. hope the home crowd is loud like that preseason game.

  36. socalbigbroncofan says:

anyone else thinks detroit can beat greenbay on thanksgiving. just wondering. just heard about jay. love it.

  37. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Socal I think it’s only natural to hate Jay from a fan perspective. It’s a lot easier to hate him than to love him and wish he were here. Luckily he has a lot of qualities that are easy to hate. Say whatever about McDaniels, ultimately it was Cutler who wanted out of here and that is reason enough. You got Jackson on your bench tonight?

  38. Broncos Born & Raised says:

I think if anybody can beat Green Bay it’s Detroit. They’re offense if is explosive enough to compete with them, and they’re defense is better. So can they? I think they can. Will they? Not if they make as many mistakes as they’ve made over the last couple weeks.

  39. OrangeTsunami says:

Well, I did say I thought we’d win the Bears game! ;)

  40. socalbigbroncofan says:

bbr, i feel the same way. at the end of that last season when we lost to sd. i kept saying all we need defense to match our fantastic offense. then …….. well u know.
as for jackson ill trade him for a rb. i havent played him in a few weeks. compared to last year he’s been worthless.

  41. OrangeTsunami says:

Although, the Bears still have a good defense, and Haine played well when Cutler went down last year..

  42. sndvl says:

Cutler may not have the chance to play in Denver. Bummer. Thought for sure that game would be flexed to Sunday Night…
maybe baby bear just suffered a lil boo boo

  43. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Socal if we could have the defense we have right now with that offense… we’d be the best team in the AFC right now, and we’d be real competitive playing against the Packers in the SB!

  44. Broncos Born & Raised says:

sndvl, As much as I want to see him get knocked around I don’t need Jay Cutler playing with something to prove against us. I think our chances go way up if he misses that game.

  45. canadasbroncfan says:

problem with that is if we still had that offence we wouldnt have miller who makes to whole thing go

  46. baylinorcrush says:

Jay will definitely not play in Denver:

By Vaughn McClure, Chicago Tribune reporter

    9:07 p.m. CST, November 20, 2011

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks with a broken thumb on his right throwing hand suffered late in Sunday’s 31-20 victory over San Diego, multiple sources told the Tribune.

According to a source, surgery could be an option for the quarterback, but there is no immediate plan to put Cutler on injured reserve. Essentially, he could return for the playoffs, with six weeks remaining in the regular season.

  47. Broncos Born & Raised says:

I was just thinking that Canada.

  48. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Oh man, Bay! Who’s the back up?

  49. socalbigbroncofan says:

well guess no cutler. does improve our chance to win.

  50. canadasbroncfan says:

guys like miller dont come around very often so in a way mcd might have done us a favor by being an idiot lol. By the way how long before coughlins head pops off his shoulders.
