New Numbers Assigned

April 18th, 2012 - 1:45pm by Stuart Zaas

With players in the building for voluntary workouts, the newly signed Broncos have worked with the team’s equipment staff to select numbers.

The only player from last year’s roster to change jersey numbers is wide receiver Mark Dell, who will go from 83 to 15. Wide receiver Brandon Stokley and defensive tackle Justin Bannan will wear the same numbers they did when they last played for the team — 14 and 97, respectively. Tight end Jacob Tamme and safety Mike Adams have yet to be assigned a number.

Below are the Broncos’ 2012 free agent acquisitions and the numbers they will wear in 2012:

  • WR Tyler Grisham – 13
  • WR Brandon Stokley – 14
  • QB Caleb Hanie – 16
  • WR Andre Caldwell – 17
  • QB Peyton Manning – 18
  • CB Tracy Porter – 29
  • CB Ramzee Robinson – 38
  • LB Cyril Obiozor – 54
  • DT Ben Garland – 63
  • G C.J. Davis – 71
  • TE Joel Dreessen – 81
  • WR Jason Hill – 83
  • DT Jeremy Jarmon – 95
  • DT Justin Bannan – 97

      BT

been on hear for a little over a year now but been reading since the begging of time sorry for the mix up I know someone said that they were a girl but not sure who my memory isn’t what it used to be

Mark Dell is my sleeper to make the squad this year (I called this before he switched to #15 btw)

I like Porter’s #29!!! Got a great feeling about him!!!

    4. daddybronc says:

Can’t decide if #15 would be considered a lucky number – or not…

    5. daddybronc says:

Love seeing TT as the discussion in the last blog.

    6. daddybronc says:

I miss the hoopla in Bronco Country and despise seeing it in NY.

    7. daddybronc says:

I’m with Turtle – can’t see an upside to Manning. He looks like a sucker rose to me. Cut that branch as close to the base as possible – but we are contracted in now. Gonna cost Broncos 18 mil for his 3 games this season.

I still see Tebow as a long term starting QB if… and his fans are his worst enemy. Fortunately he is a winner even in his unpolished state.

Denver had QB Kirk Cousins in for a visit yesterday.

OT, and the rest of you guys, I have a little secret to share with you, but it really isn’t one I was trying to keep. I just never saw the need to divulge it before, because it never came up, and as far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t matter. But, since you guys were talking about females on here earlier, I guess I should let you know that I too, am female. Happily married for 42 years to the same wonderful man, and we have two awesome adult children and one granddaughter.

My husband and I are both lifelong Bama fans, but we both went to Auburn, so we pull for both schools, until the Iron Bowl. We both love golfing, fishing, farming, hunting, gardening, and football, but he likes SEC football more than the NFL, and I love both. I also love sewing, cooking, reading, and playing the piano, so it takes all kinds to be a Broncos fan.

As we’ve gotten older, we don’t do some of the things we used to do when we were younger, such as water skiing at the lake, or snow skiing out West, but we spend a good bit of time at our beach home in the Spring and Summer.

At any rate, I am a retired accountant and Realtor, so I just enjoy life and my family, and do what I want these days, which really makes me thankful to be so blessed. So, there you have it, not that any of it matters. Just thought I would let you guys know a little bit about Tide Bronco.

I knew someone said it lol

    12. BFE says:

      db……that’s 6 million a game,lol.

    13. DenverOranges says:

      Alaska,
I have Cousins as my 3rd option in the 3rd rnd he would be a good pick up

    14. BFE says:

If we win the SB that’s less than 1 million per game…not bad!

    15. BFE says:

I for one don’t miss the hoopla,it’s a huge distraction to our team, imo.

    16. BFE says:

OT,I love Porter in #29,got a gut feeling he will play good for us this year,it’s hard playing opposite of Champ,I hope he’s up to the challenge!

#29 is my favorite # in Nascar too, lol.

    17. alaskanbronco06 says:

BFE not only was it a distraction but it bothered many players because lack of credit to the whole team. The media and some of the fans (FBG) the way they talk is like Tebow threw the ball and caught it and kicked the game winner and made the defensive stops. Really annoying. But that same goes for the haters in the losses and the way they talk is that Tebow played D and allowed 40+ points. (Bills game he did allow 14 though) but my point it that he gets all the credit and blame when he doesnt deserve no where near it all and that bothered many players on the team. (Especially credit for wins)

    18. BFE says:

ab,I think Osweiler,Kousins, and Foles are potential QBs for us.

    19. BFE says:

      ab,I agree,that’s what bothered DT!

    20. alaskanbronco06 says:

BFE I think s too. Im not a big fan of Cousins but I really like the other two and Moore.

    21. BFE says:

I think our WRs and TEs will be happy this year!

    22. alaskanbronco06 says:

BFE Thats exactly why. Plus many D players. DT was also bothered cause he wasnt getting the ball. Which I agree with him. There were WRs that were having as many catches at TT was having completions.

    23. BFE says:

Yeah I forgot about Kellen Moore,I haven’t seen too much of him,but from what I have seen,he looks like a good QB project maybe 5th or 6th round.

    24. BFE says:

Any WR wants the ball,it’s like every RB wants the ball, and they aren’t happy unless they get it regularly!

    25. alaskanbronco06 says:

BFE IMO He will go somewhere in the 6th like Foles.

thats very true! Theres a difference though between wanting the ball and thinking your the only one who can make a play. Every WR wants the ball but players like Moss and TO thought they were the only ones able to do something and they acted that way off the field too.

    26. DenverOranges says:

      Alaska,

      Whats wrong with Cousins

    27. BFE says:

Yeah big difference in a WR wanting the ball and a prima donna like TO.

    28. alaskanbronco06 says:

DO When I watched his QB camp he always found someone pr something else to put blame on other than himself. I didnt like that. IMO the QB needs to know what was his fault and take the blame not put it elsewhere.

    29. ScalptheChiefs says:

Tebow would have been screwed with our schedule… Any elite team we were destroyed by and he was pulling out the “miracle” wins against weaker opponents… With the exception of the playoff game… Again I think Tebow is the man but I really dont see him even beating out Sanchez… DB I hope you write Mr Manning a letter apologizing for doubting the 4000 plus yards and 16 starts he will give us this year!!! The whole lockerroom is so excited to have PM around and I would go on a limb to say at least half of the free agents wouldnt have considered for a second coming to Denver if PM didnt sign!! There are great days ahead people!!!

      LETS GO!!!!
      GO BRONCOS!!!!

    30. SWBronco says:

I love reading the new player numbers, but am disappointed that Hanie will be #16…I’m a big Plummer fan so take that as you may, I still get slightly disturbed to see Hanie wearing it haha

    31. alaskanbronco06 says:

SW Have you seen Case Keenum QB camp?

    32. Big D 44 says:

Didn’t we get another tight end too? Why isn’t he listed here?

    33. alaskanbronco06 says:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idM2PMsJL74

If not here you go. I still prefer Brock and Moore. Foles and Tannehills are the last two to be aired.

    34. alaskanbronco06 says:

Bid D is you read the thing youd see he hasnt chosen his # yet same with Mike Adams the S we signed.

    35. SWBronco says:

I didn’t even know he had one AB, thanks man! checking it out now

    36. Big D 44 says:

      LOL!! My bad!

    37. alaskanbronco06 says:

Dont worry Big D i wondered that to then I read the whole thing instead of just the numbers lol

    38. alaskanbronco06 says:

      SW Your welcome bro.

    39. daddybronc says:

Scalp – I’ll have to do something crazy and write that letter to Manning – along with BT – if…4000 yards and playoff wins etc.

but…3 games and 18 mil is all I can see from where I sit.

I can give credit to Manning for being an offensive coordinator – generally offensive to me to even think about him as a Bronco – but he is undoubtedly one of if not ‘the’ greatest thinker/reader at the QB position in the history of the game. Tebow will never get even close!

    40. daddybronc says:

DO – nice repost from Tide – I still wouldn’t call Tide a girl. Female, woman, lady,…yes! Shaz is also a lady fan. There are a few others but not that post very often.

    41. Broncogodd87 says:

Love Moore he would be an early round pick if he was 2 inches taller.. But hey look at Brees hight isnt everything. The kid can play!!!

    42. DenverOranges says:

      Realy!! Wow!!

    43. daddybronc says:

AB – I’m on board with Brock and Moore – in that order. – Haha the tall and short ‘thing’ is something to contemplate. I prefer either to Luck or RG3. Glad we don’t get top picks.

    44. SWBronco says:

So, I like Keenum, I get the feeling he’ll go one of two ways though. I see him as either a Tom Brady-esque not getting drafted or end up as a career back-up, I’m not really sure which.

    45. SWBronco says:

I guess I’m a lot like Gruden, I like everyone haha

    46. DenverOranges says:

      yes

    47. alaskanbronco06 says:

SW hes projected pretty high and a lot of teams are high on him. He defiantly has to go to the right team and right offensive scheme to succeed but I really dont see him being anything more than a solid backup.

    48. DenverOranges says:

      new blog

    49. Spitfire Riggz says:

      @DaddyBronc

I don’t know if you’ve been around here but there is tons of hoopla in Bronco nation, 5 primetime games (New England isn’t even on there) talk of championships, that is football hoopla. I for one am glad Peyton isn’t on good morning america or any of that crap.

It seems like the players are just as excited, if not more! It feels great to be a BRONCO fan right now!
