While some players were just getting to know Interim Head Coach Eric Studesville Wednesday morning, the running backs already knew what they would see.
After working with the coach all year, Correll Buckhalter said he observed no differences in the way Studesville addressed the team as the head coach and how he used to treat his position players.
“He was the same that he’s always been in the running backs room,” Buckhalter said. “He talked about how all he knew how to do was work. He wants everybody to come to work happy and just feel like you want to come here.”
Studesville’s exuberance for the game has been a common theme at Dove Valley during the past two days.
On Tuesday, in his first meeting with the press as head coach, Studesvillle explained that he wanted his players to share his affinity for the workplace.
“Positive energy always goes a long way,” Mario Haggan said. “That’s what you want to have, and in this game, if you don’t have positive energy, then you get negative results.”
Haggan’s history with Studesville goes beyond Denver. The linebacker’s time with the Bills coincided with the coach’s tenure in Buffalo.
Over the years, Haggan said he has come to know the coach as a man ready to go to work with a skip in his step. Now he said he’s excited to see Studesville bring that style to the head coaching position.
“I think that’s what he wants — to put his own stamp on it and the opportunity he has to lead this team,” Haggan said. “I think he’ll continue to be that way.”
Studesville projected confidence in the way he’ll handle his new position. When reporters asked him what coaches he would seek to emulate, he kept it simple.
He said he would stick to his own values, being upfront and honest with his players and encouraging a fun, hard-working atmosphere.
“I try to be the best me I can. I’m not going to try and be somebody else. I’m not going to try and be something I am not,” Studesville said. “I think this is just an enhanced version of what I have done with the running backs. I just now have the whole team.”
THREE FRESH FACES
The coach also announced two new members to the active roster and an addition to the practice squad.
Linebacker Lee Robinson earned a promotion up from the practice squad, and tight end Daniel Coats is back with the team after he was signed for a day earlier this year.
Robinson’s departure from the practice squad opened up a space for running back Jeremiah Johnson, a University of Oregon product who spent last year on injured reserve with the Texans. As a senior at Oregon in 2008, Johnson rushed for 1,201 yards, the sixth-highest total in school history.

I got great news Bronco Country!
So far not a single blogger has picked us to lose Sunday!!!!
We’ll definitely be going up against a bunch of nobody QB’s Sunday, LOL.
John Skelton and Richard Bartel split the quarterback practice repetitions Wednesday for the Cardinals because, well, there was no one else.
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
WHO? they could have brady quinn. lol
Well, my lucky quarter said we were going to lose………..
So, I threw that peice of crap in the garbage!!!!!!!
I don’t need no stinking lucky quarter!
I need a lucky quarterback!…hahaha
Broncos play Orton and lose??? Again? dirt passes again? NOT!
Well, I still love my Lucky Broncos!!!!!! lets roll the dice!
Broncos 31
Cards 13
ILMSDB!
John Skelton was a favorite of one of the bloggers on here during draft. Cant remember who. I wanna say blaze. He is big, strong arm, and can scramble. Alas he is a rookie so we should have a field day. But never underestimate I always say.
All I hope for is us to trade brady quinn and Orton when the year is through. Orton because his numbers this year LOOK good and is a great bargaining chip and Quinn cuz he sucks lol. However Im not against keeping orton since it looks like we wont see Tebow play this year and it would be silly to drop Orton without knowing. Also trade Maroney. I swear. We need to Recoop alot of lost picks. If we drop Buckhalter however, which i think we should, older, slowing down, always injury prone. Then I dont mind keeping Maroney. I know and have always KNOWN Knowshon is a great back….when he is healthy lol. New strength and conditioning coach please lol.
Lions placed CB Alphonso Smith on Reserve/Injured list.
I`m stoked about Goody coming back. Come on Goody pick 6.
Bronco`s win 31-13
Broncos win, 35-17….I know it’s early and who knows if its just a charade, but I like Studs attitude, I think it would be nice if we worked the X’s and O’s and kicked some butt! but, I think that when you have Gruden and Cowher it might be tough. did that make sense
TRB,we still have Lendale White,I can’t wait till next year, hopefully we will go back to zoneblocking and Moreno and White can tear it up!
That’s if Lendale White comes back 100% healthy,which I don’t see why he wouldn’t.
A great 1, 2 punch I`d say. And Elvis will be back in the building.
BFE, I`ve been following Lendale since he took his first step onto the football field at USC. What a powerback.
Was Callahan hired to replace Studesville?
I look for our underacheived LBs to wreak havoc on the young QB Sunday!
I think Ayers will play with a chip on his shoulder now that he’s back!
strandoftds,White is a beast!
Release the hounds.
Amen to that.
I think we have a lot of talent still left here in Denver,we just need the right leader to take us where we need to go!
Studesville,Gruden,Cowher,Dennison,or whoever it might be,the future is bright again Broncos Country!
I wanted lagarette blount when he went undrafted. Kid is a flat out monster. Unstable as hell but an unstable monster lol. And woulda worked WONDERs for our weak run game. I dont think I have ever seen him get tackled for a loss. BUt i like lendale. Less headache and a colorado boy. Look forward to him coming back so yea…later Maroney. assuming we can get at least a 5th rounder for him lol. I think Maroney can be good in zone blocking too…but thats cuz zone blocking when done the broncos ways OWNS. Ask Houston. They know whats up lol.
Yea i heard about that baylin. Kids a ball hawk but he can tackle worth nothing, is pint sized, and injured easy. I just think we coulda traded him for better. Glad Goodman is back but I was enjoying COX. I wonder who will start lol. Goodman has been gone ALL year…Im pretty much used to calling Cox the number 2 lol. I hope now that goodman is back we can see COX more on KR. Would love that.
I am energized.
with a little new excitement and the dark clouds gone I think we’ll have a similar resurgence that the Vikings and Cowboys had.
Broncos-40
Cardinals-10
IMO we need to fix the D and ST. The O is going to be great I think. Draft all D.
MANIAC,I think Callahan was an Assistant coach or something. He was hired the beginning of this year,I think.
DEFENSE-DEFENSE-DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!IN 2011~~~
We need a couple of big DLs,a couple of speedy smashmouth Lbs,and at least 1 DB.IMO
If I`m not mistaken, I think Studesville gave Callahan the RB`s coaching job so Studesville can focus on the whole team if I recall.
And a pass catching TE.Don’t forget that!
And a Safety perhaps.
im still waiting for chucky. chucky and tebow thats what we need.
Awesome TE out of ND. Kyle Rudolph, all around TE.
Yeah me too!!!!!!!!!!
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/357167-tim-tebow-the-bride-of-chucky
Yeah theres also a good pass catching TE right here at UT,his name is Luke Stocker,he’s big and fast and has great hands.
BFE, one mock draft has the Broncos taking this stud of a TE in the 2nd round. 6’6` great hands, blocks, ect……..
Sweet. With McD gone we can utilize our TE`s again.
CB, NT, S, and TE is what i would like to see lol with the first few picks if not moving back in the draft and recouping the picks that were wasted this year.
strandoftds here are some TEs coming out next year:
http://ncaafball.wordpress.com/2010/04/28/2011-draft-preview-te/
beast nice article. i know everyone has their opinion but i want chucky. cause chucky will give us tebow.
Not in the first round. No way. We need a stud at DE, DT or Patrick Peterson, the shut down CB.
I think we take a TE in the 2nd or 3rd round, since we have two 2nds next year,I think we take the best DL we can get with our #1.
Thanks bro.
Whatever they do i hope they get a new GM before this is all said and done im tired of all the say with the head coach they need a GM in my opinion
If Patrick Peterson isn`t there when we pick, DT for sure.
Peterson is a shutdown corner,if he falls to us,or we get a better pick,I say he’ll go top 5.
I’m almost certain we will have a new GM.Mr.B is just waiting till the end of the year to can Xanders.
i agree. and so do all the analysts. know one thinks x will be here that long. he is to blame as much as mcd
Zanders might stay but play a different role in the office. I just looked up that site. Thanks. They had Stocker at # 4 on the chart. Cool. Rudolph is a Jr. We`ll see huh?
This means nothing right now,but here is the worst records as of now:
Carolina-1-11
Detroit-2-10
Buffalo-2-10
Cincy-2-10
Denver and Arizona tied at 3-9
But even if we win a couple,I still think we might get a top 5 or 6 pick. We’ll see.
I`ve been watching also. regardless, were gonna have a top 7 pick at the highest I think. My guess is #6. Just a guess though.
