The spotlight in the Broncos rushing attack this season has been on Willis McGahee, and rightfully so.
The first-year Bronco has three 100-yard games under his belt already this season.
But Knowshon Moreno has been involved as well, rushing for 54 yards and tacking on 92 yards and a touchdown through the air after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in Week 1.
With McGahee recovering from a fracture in his fourth metacarpal, Moreno might get a chance to get even more involved this Sunday against Detroit.
“I feel good right now,” Moreno said. “It’s a new part of the season coming off the bye, coming out with a win. Now we just have to keep on moving.”
Head Coach John Fox said Moreno’s production this season has been slowed by his injury, but he appreciated the way Moreno battled when he and Lance Ball stepped in for the injured McGahee last week.
“I don’t know if he’s 100 percent (healthy) yet, but I thought he stepped in and did a tremendous job (Sunday) — both he and Lance Ball — particularly in protection, because we were in pass mode at that point. When he ran the ball, he slammed it in there well. As I’ve said all along, I think competition makes players better, and I’ve like his demeanor and how he’s handled it.”
Moreno said he’s anxious to help the team take on an “explosive” Detroit Lions club.
“It’s just going out there and playing ball,” Moreno said. It’s not necessarily showing anyone. It’s just going out there and playing ball, doing the things I need to do to help this team win. That’s all it comes down to, really.”

As we were just discussing this guy on the last blog he appears….Knowshon…the Candyman of the Broncos…
It should of read:
Moreno ready to play ball behind Ball (courtesy of Carnage), haha.
yeah, the title sounds like a play on words………haha
“I don’t know if he’s 100 percent (healthy) yet” Fox says, is he ever? Unfortunately the odds are you’ll find out soon enough Fox.
I like Moreno as a change of pace back and that screne pass against the Chargers was sweet, but as a FEATURE BACK – I’m sorry, but “NO”!!!
Good luck Moreno filling some big shoes for McGahee!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!
*** screen pass*** LOL
And the biggest showboat on the team is trying to convince himself he is not, hilarious:
“It’s just going out there and playing ball,” Moreno said. “It’s not necessarily showing anyone.”
I can’t remember what game it was……..but I remember when we were down huge and Moreno got a score towards the end of the game and celebrated like it he just won the Super Bowl……..
That left a bad taste in my mouth………
Oh, and all the 3rd and shorts he could never convert and fumbles on the goalline………..that too! haha
Hello boys, Moreno ready to play, hmmm. Moreno has yet been ready to since he came to the broncos. I have been trying to keep up with conversations, and people still don’t believe Tebow is going to take the broncos anywhere. I am not going to harp on a dead end subject and just want to simply say some people truly amaze me. Now that McGahee will be out, I think our running game will suffer and that isn’t good. So bring on Sunday and lets see what our TEAM can accomplish.
I really had an issue with his attitude in the Miami game… When Tebow overthrew him on the roll out pass he acted like Tebow T-Bagged his Cheerios… I am hoping that Moreno can be more than what he has been, but I don’t see how a guy can be affective when you put him in the game and even my Grandmother knows its a screen pass coming…
“T-bagged his Cheerios”!! LOL. Never heard that one before..
Moreno needs to slow down on hitting the hole – most of the time the blocking hasnt developed yet, and he is trying to cram the football up the O-Line’s arse. The guy has poor football vision, or maybe his real vision is bad too, who knows..
HAHA “T-bagged his Cheerios”!! LOL.
Thats so funny.
I really do hope that Moreno can step up. We really need him to!
Lets Go Broncos! Cant wait to watch TEBOW again!!!
LOL! Some entertaining posts this morning.
I hope Moreno will step it up. I actually saw a few bright spots in his game last Sunday against the Fins. I can’t wait for Sunday!
Go Broncos!
Bay my prediction denver 13 detroit 21
t bag cheerios! thats good stuff. lol go broncos
my predition:

John “Big Hit” Lynch with his opinion-
If Andrew Luck had his way, this season’s “biggest loser” subplot — the “Suck for Luck” chase — would just go away.
“I don’t think a fan should want a team to lose, whether now or later,” Luck told The Los Angeles Times on Tuesday . “Fans should support their team, have them win, and whatever happens, happens.”
Sure, but if you’re rooting for one of this year’s sinking ships, the choice between a few listless wins or the chance to grab the next Tom Brady — or Cam Newton, for that matter — seems like an easy one. Still, it’s the biggest hit-or-miss position in sports — for every Peyton Manning , you have JaMarcus Russell, Tim Couch and Ryan Leaf setting their franchises back half a decade.
Stanford’s star quarterback can’t avoid the growing chatter, but “it would be a disservice to my teammates and this university if I started thinking about all that stuff.”
“He’s like a vitamin — once a day he does something that just makes you say, ‘Wow!’” said Stanford coach David Shaw. “And it’s been once a day for four years.”
Former Buccaneers All-Pro safety (and Stanford alum) John Lynch — who’s seen his share of quarterbacks — called Luck “one of those guys that comes around every 15 or 20 years.”
What if he’s right?
Luck’s diplomacy on the matter aside, teams without that special quarterback are on the outside looking in. If your team’s bottom-feeding at 0-6, are you hoping they scratch out two or three wins at the end of the year — or totally wreck the car in order to grab a player who could transform your franchise until 2025?
Tebow to Miami with Meyer-
Not so fast…

I don”t understand why this is even an issue, Tebow is one of those quarterbacks, He may not have the best motion and all that other stuff but he has the best heart in the game, I have never once saw him quit. I never once saw him give up. He is is always fighting and pushing and i think that with a little more experience he will be the Franchise quarterback we have been waiting for!! We have been trying to get him 0n the field and it is finally done! GO TEBOW GO!!!
Gonna show some love for Carnage this morning:
Colquitt is the only Bronco deserving of pro-bowl honors….
and kudos to Prater…it is significant that he overcame being iced and missing two to score. That’s clutch!
Yep – definitely feels like Tebow and Moreno are on a short leash and they are both going to have to perform consistently. I’d say Moreno’s leash and cutoff play is coming a lot sooner than Tebow’s.
Bay – I’d rather never score points on your poll than to post my expectations of losing. My prediction of a 21-24 DEN win is likely as far out as my previous weeks prediction – I’m sticking with it! Denver wins! Haters go home
Broncos work out RBs Sutton, Omon

With Willis McGahee expected to miss at least the game against the Detroit Lions this Sunday, and maybe the following week’s game at Oakland, the Broncos are searching for running back depth.
The Broncos worked out Xavier Omon and Tyrell Sutton on Tuesday. Omon played for the Buffalo Bills in 2008-09, when his running backs coach was Eric Studesville, who now holds the same position with the Broncos. Omon has since bounced from the Seattle Seahawks to New York Jets San Francisco 49ers to most recently with the Cleveland Browns.
Sutton has played for the Green Bay Packers and the previous two years in Carolina, where his head coach was John Fox, who now holds the same position with the Broncos.
The team has not yet signed either back. The Broncos may promote Jeremiah Johnson from the practice squad Saturday for the game against the Lions.
Memo to Tebow haters:
Min 15 attempts: tebow is number 10 overall in the entire NFL in passer rating (94.1) (he is 1 point ahead of T. Romo)… Can you imagine his rating if McCoy called some crossing patterns, quick slants, or bubble screens?
As far as him being on a short leash, What is Ortons’s freakin record? Are you people freakin clueless? Orton was 1-4 as a starter this season.. Tebow is 2-2 as a starter.. Two 13 plus comeback wins.. Do any of you realize how rare comebacks like these are in the first 4 starts of a QB? Tebow is probably the only one in NFL history with this on his resume…
Don’t forget that Mike McCoy was calling the plays. He is a terrible o/c.. Where were the screen passes or crossing patterns? He was scared to let Tebow throw over the middle until the 4th qtr. There was no imagination on their game plan. These guys are supposed to be freakin professionals, but they are terrible. They couldn’t make it work for Orton, and so far he is terrible for Tebow. Mix in no B. Lloyd, did anyone think that losing a pro-bowl receiver would not have an impact? Some teams fall apart after losing their number 1 receiver. D. Thomas? He is still a step slow right now, he looks like a lumbering giant. Losing E. Riley was a big mistake. A good o/c (like McD was) can make an average QB look great by calling plays that suit his strengths. And calling run plays early in the game to set up a future play action play. McCoy did nothing. Give this Win to Tebow and D. Allen (& his Defense). McCoy gets an F, and Fox gets an F for trusting Prater to make a 50 plus field goal in OT.. I would have kept Tebow in the spread (& no huddle) and I would have won the game on my first OT possession.
As predictions are being made – take the time to look at the Lions injury report. Stafford is day to day.
Broncos are at home and the mass of Orange is as intimidating to opposing teams as stadiums get.
Broncos 24 – Lions 21 You heard it here first – the Tebow ‘deer in the headlight look’ is gone. Significant offensive progress will happen this week.
More worried about Moreno – he had a good shot at it until Ornon and Sutton showed. That’s dumb coaching. They should have just pulled up Johnson. They have now destroyed any confidence that Moreno might have had. M. actually had a shot at significant improvements with our O-line playing better and some holes starting to be opened up. All he had to do was slow up a little – take a better look.
Heard it snowed pretty good in Denver today!
armadillo…. I agree bro. Fox is not calling the plays that are needed. With the “trick Plays” and the other plays he was calling, No wonder we had no production early on. I also agree with the loss of B. Lloyd. D. Thomas has never stepped up and showed what he can do. he hasn’t stayed healthy enough to see it. Bad move. Bad move.
I say give Larsen a chance at a few run plays.
We can have a “true platoon” with 4 different style runners. Also, some WR end arounds, bubble screens and TE screens.
Deteoits strength is their Dline. We have em in mile high. Have them running around all day. Should give us a chance. Albeit slim. But apparently the Mile-High Messiah is known for his historic comebacks…
I said before the season started this is a make it or break it year for Moreno,he got hurt, then was replaced by MaGahee, now MaGahee is hurt, time to put up or shut up,I think Moreno’s time is NOW,if you have it in you kid you better let it out the next few weeks,or you will lose your starting job to MaGahee again, when he gets healthy.BTW I am a fan of Moreno, and hope the kid does better, but he just gets injured a lot(like Bey Bey) some players never have a successful carer in the NFL because they can’t stay healthy, hopefully Moreno is not one of those guys!!!
GO MORENO!!!!!!!!!!!
*McGahee
sndvl…. Brilliant, The Holy #7 was a comeback King
and Now it is in #15 to be the comeback Prince!
The only way Indy wins much of anything this year is if the team they are playing forgets to put half of their team on the plane! They aren’t going to fire Caldwell so they are pretty much stuck with what they have. The Rams are up to their armpits in alligators with a hurt O Line, hurt QB, no receivers and no defense. Not that their shiny new OC is helping them very much! Looks like a really long year ahead for them but they got their QB in ’09. Miami is about the only one that will be able to do anything IF they change coaches. That almost always seems to perk up a team, at least for awhile. Could be that everyone realizes his butt is on the line now since you can’t blame the coach any more. At this point, it looks like Miami and Indy will be fighting over the #1 pick and I’m betting on Indy to pull it out at the end!
Sndvl I couldn’t agree more about Larsen. He has been gvien very few opportunities to make plays outside of blocking, but when he does he always comes through. I’d like to see him get more involved catching out of the backfield and maybe running the rock a little bit. He’s a competitor and a tough guy.
Also I am really curious to see how Moreno does with a better offensive line. I think the o-line is the best it’s been since he got here. Time to see what he can do with it. We’ve seen flashes from him and I’m rooting for the kid – mainly because if he can’t get it done we’re in big trouble. McGahee has been our single best offensive player imo, and here’s to hoping that hole can be somewhat filled for the next couple weeks.
new blog
I was thinking about Larsen as a ball carrier as well Sndvl. I did some research on him this morning to see if he carried the ball in Az but looks like he was strictly a LB. Couldn’t find anything on him for HS.
I did find he runs the 40 in like 4.6 or 4.7 but not much else.
Doen’t mean he can’t do it at this level…. at 6’2″ 243 lbs, he’s kinda like another TT.
bay had touched on Quinn Johnson yesterday… he came from NFC North and is big back at 263 lbs.
Lions 27
Broncos 17
I say we bring up Jermiah Johnson and start him for the game.
What kind of prediction is that S.D. I don’t like it. Not one bit
sndvl wrote tebow and meyer to miami. i actually think that meyer is going to be the next ohio state coach,i happened to hear him in an interview early in the season where they were talking about ohio state and he said (we) now maybe this was nothing or it was a slipup dont know for sure just saying
Please do not bring up passer rating and expect to be taken seriously. QBR is much more accurate and uses factors such as qualityof passes, bad deisions, near picks, saks, etc… Tebows last year was 58.7 overlall slightly above average and would be 11th overall. this year he has posted marks of 18.2 against miami which ranked 23rd out of 27 passers. and 83.2 against SD in relief which was 5th out of 28 passers. QBR measures how effective a QB is to leading his team to victory. Passer Rating is a terrible stat!
sndvl, that’s the smartest thing I’ve read all week.
You can add If The Broncos can punch them in the mouth with Spencer, they can then pitchout to get Mareno out in open space to really get that DLine guessing as thier gasping for air.
TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
GO BRONCOS ! ! !
