For the second consecutive week, running back Knowshon Moreno topped the 100-yard mark in Sunday’s 34-17 win at Baltimore.
And once again, the fourth-year running back has been nominated for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.
Moreno carried 22 times for 118 yards with one touchdown against the Ravens to mark his fourth career 100-yard game.
“It starts up front,” Moreno said after the game. “Those guys up front, they open up the holes and push those other big guys back. We’re just running the ball so it’s easy when those guys are doing the job.”
His 122 rushing yards marked the most by a visiting player against the Baltimore Ravens since the 2010 season and he turned in just the 17th 100-yard rushing game against the Ravens by a visiting running back in the franchise’s history.
His game against Baltimore was highlighted by a 20-yard run in the first quarter during which he hurdled over Ravens safety Ed Reed.
“It’s unbelievable,” fullback Jacob Hester said of the play. “You see guys that do it when people are on the ground or people try to tackle them low. But you don’t see many people do that to Ed Reed, who’s standing straight up. He did that to a Hall-of-Famer who was literally standing straight up and he leaped right over him. Knowshon’s a special player. He’s one of the few guys who can run tough as well as run to the outside and we’re glad to have him.”
Moreno scored his third touchdown of the season on a 6-yard carry that gave the Broncos a 31-3 lead in the third quarter.
Since taking over as the Broncos’ starting running back, Moreno has averaged 121.8 scrimmage yards per game. That figure ranks fourth in the NFL and second among running backs behind Vikings RB Adrian Peterson.
“I’ve been watching Knowshon since college,” wide receiver Demaryius Thomas said. “I played against him. I know what the man can do. It’s crazy what he’s done since he’s been back. I’m happy for him, and I just hope he keeps doing it.”
Moreno is up against Peterson, who ran for 212 yards on 24 carries with one touchdown in the Vikings win over the St. Louis Rams and Houston Texans runnning back Arian Foster, who gained 165 yards on 27 carries in a Texans victory against the Colts.
To vote for Moreno, visit NFL.com/FedEX. Voting is open through 1 p.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 14. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
As part of the Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team’s city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.

go moreno. i knew he could do it. very happy for him
You and me both Alex
I love how we have a bunch of players on this team that took a lot of stick but are now performing: Ayers, DMT, Moreno, DJ… Who knows we may even see Ramirez work out one day although that maybe wishing for too much
Glad to see Moreno doing well and contributing towards the Teams success. Coach Fox did kinda hint that
he wasn’t quite ready to go when he was de-activated. Moreno does look more powerful, so obviously
as others have mentioned, the new training staff has done well with the players.
Kudos to Moreno and RB Coach Studesville for working hard to see improvement with technique and vision.
Here’s to continued success #27 !!!
GO BRONCOS!!!
I’ve been hard on Knowshon for so long. Its bazaar to see him these last few weeks dominating game after game. I’m so happy to see Moreno do so well. I’m proud of him and wanting to see him succeed.
How ya doing Royal? Heading to the game Sunday against Cleveland?
How you doing strand? My wife’s not feeling to good so not sure, but hopefully.we’ll see. If not the kids will be there for sure.

No one on this blog has ripped Knowshon more than I, I was just really PO’d that he did not pan out when he was a huge stud in college……Boy i am glad I was wrong, Knowshon you are the real deal! It took a lot of heart to get demoted and go to the practice squad and something more than that it took courage and character, Something it looks look you have in droves…..jumping over Ed Reed was a thing of b e a u t y man you do run like Gayel Sayers, I always said that too! I hope you get a ring to go with that character you have earned it Good Luck and

I too have called for the release or trade of Moreno and can say I’m glad no one listens to me. However, three games does not a career make and I feel he owes us. Keep up the hard work and we’ll see if he pays us back.
i was very happy when moreno came into the game when he was needed.. good luck moreno i hope u have alot of success
Very happy for Moreno – I would ask him for a little less Show boating right now though. Hey – I have the Jersey for several years now, love it, but after the “Sauced” incident and the injury past, lets be humble and focused.
