Head Coach Josh McDaniels announced Friday morning that Knowshon Moreno and Ryan Harris will not suit up for this Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. They are listed as out on the injury report.
Harris had been listed on the injury report this week with an ankle injury. He practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, but didn’t practice Thursday or Friday.
Moreno wasn’t on the injury report initially, but McDaniels said that he “just sustained a little something that we won’t be able to play through this week, yesterday.” He didn’t practice Friday.
In his stead, Andre Brown, Correll Buckhalter and Laurence Maroney are all ready to step up on Sunday.
“In this business, you can’t expect anything,” said Maroney, who had full participation on Thurdsay and Friday despite a thigh injury. “I know one thing — I’m going to be prepared for whatever comes my way, whatever Josh (McDaniels) asks of me.”
McDaniels said he is hopeful that both Champ Bailey (foot) and Andre’ Goodman (thigh), who both practiced for the first time this week on Friday, will suit up on Sunday.
“They both want to play, and I think they’re getting closer to being ready and able to,” he said.
Both cornerbacks are listed as questionable.
As for the rest of the injury report, Chris Kuper (knee) and Wesley Woodyard (hamstring) are listed as questionable, and Maroney and Darcel McBath (forearm) are probable.
For the Colts, Anthony Gozalez, Ramon Humber and Bob Sanders are listed as out for Sunday’s game. Joseph Addai, Charlie Johnson, Clint Session, Pierre Garcon, Brandon King and Eric Foster are questionable. Gary Brackett, Jeff Saturday and Jerraud Powers are probable.
LOVE FOR LITTLE

Welcome to Floyd Little Weekend.
The newest Bronco in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is in Denver to receive his Hall of Fame ring at halftime on Sunday. He will be joined by several other Broncos Ring of Fame members and President and CEO Pat Bowlen during the ceremony.
“The greatest thing is that the Broncos have given this weekend for me,” Little said while visiting Dove Valley on Friday. “Pat Bowlen has made it a Floyd Little Weekend, which in itself is an honor. To have my family here, which I admire and love and respect, to have them here to be a part of it, to have many of my teammates here that I played with while I was here to be a part of that — it’s a special moment for me.”
Little was enshrined in Canton, Ohio, in August, and after receiving his gold jacket and bronze bust, the ring is the third and final symbol of his induction into the elite fraternity.
And he wouldn’t have it any other way than to receive it in front of the Broncos faithful.
“The crowd here has been so supportive and so loyal over the years,” Little said. “I can’t imagine what it will be like in the stadium.”
During the team’s alumni weekend, he will have a chance to reconnect with old teammates and younger former Broncos, who occasionally give him a hard time.
Billy Thompson, for one, nicknamed Little “Folks,” short for Old Folks, just to poke at the running back’s age.
“So I have two nicknames — ‘Folks’ and ‘The Franchise,’” Little smiled. “I think I like ‘The Franchise’ better.”
And the Franchise is comfortable knowing that he will forever be among the greatest to ever play the game.
“The good thing about being in this selected group of players — they can’t cut you, they can’t fire you and they can’t trade you. You are in for eternity and it’s great,” Little said. “Boy, that is one great feeling to have — to be a part of that.”

Honestly, I’d be more worried to play the Saints, Texans and gulp, sandiego tomorrow than the Colts. Sure Manning is MVP, but they are also 1-1. So are we. Forget what happened the years previous. We are in this season. We are at home. Yes we are banged up (more on that in a sec), but so are they. They aren’t invincible. They have many flaws, (they lost the big one
too) and weaknesses we can exploit. It’s gonna take some guts and creative playcalling on offense and new looks on defense and some fire from special teams. It’s gonna take a total team effort.
Oh yeah, injuries. I have an epiphany of sorts. Our team has been hit HARD this season. Not to mention the unfortunate suicide of McKinley. However, we have dealt with this for such an extended period of time, that it has become the norm. We push on. We take it one day at a time. And 1 player at a time. To one yard at a time. This team has already proved it’s strength and will. Now all we have left to do is take the field. Play some BRONCOS football and ride baby ride!
GO BRONCOS 2K10! Ignite Indy
Ride Baby Ride …..sndvl…hope so bro!!!!!
Made the 9 hour voyage down to Denver from Montana today! Can’t wait for tomorrow!!! Go Broncos!!!
9 hours????????????????/DAMN DUDE DID YOU TAKE THE SCENIC ROUTE??
To Tell you guys the truth, the Broncos make my f’n day man,but I can live with a loss, as long as I see the F’n effort dude,I can live with it!!!!!!!!!!
To be honest,I got a Hardees burger waitin’ 4 me when I’M DONE,SO SORRY GUYS i’m gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yovi, I’m changing your number for the day. Today you’re 12. As in the twelfth man…
BTW. The ride to Denver for me is 13 hours. And it’s not the scenic route. It’s just the way!
The problem with running backs these days is they keep getting smaller and smaller while the linemen keep getting bigger and bigger. The most durable backs will be smash mouth bigger running backs weighing 260+ pounds. These little ‘scat’ backs are a waste of time for most teams as they can’t endure the brutality of the NFL. Why coaches are blind to this and continue to draft players more suited to high school than the NFL is amazing really.
@24_champbailey and to anyone who is not yet familiar with our score prediction contest, a re-post of last week results and if you read it all the way through you will get what it’s all about, NO PRIZES, JUST FAME OR SHAME, LOL:
Official results of our first week of score predictions:
Unbelievably enough this week we have a perfect score prediction, and all of last year we never had any, some one point off predictions, but nothing like a dead on correct score, obviously very rare to say the least.
The first place and score prediction of the week champ title goes to:
1st place:
wild horses 31-14!!!!! Congrats man, I bow to you and so should everyone else, you are ruling above us mere mortals for the entire week to come, you deserve it!
2nd place, and only one point off, nearly as awesome:
camharland 31-13
Tie for 3rd place and only three points off:
dcftcollins 31-17
rebelbronco 31-17
royalbroncofan1 31-17
bronco-blaze 31-17
broncosfreak30 28-14
Also a huge note of congratulations to UKbroncos for guessing the correct spread even so it doesn’t count towards the competition, 17 points, with a 27-10 score prediction.
Other notable predictions, also not counting in the competition, the correct Bronco score:
strandoftds 31-27
steveatwater5 31-23
And the correct Seahawk score:
baylinorcrush 24-14
And for the week’s Wall of Shame award, this is no contest this week, it goes to:
dontdewittit who picked the Seawhawks to win 27-20!!!!!!!
FYI, the top 5 places (7 this week because of the ties) and the wall of shame recipient will be kept in the records to finalize the overall year standings at season end, all others were unfortunately not close enough to be considered. The wall of shame will be used as a tie breaker if necessary.
By example, last year I won the title with 3 first places, 1 third, 2 fourth, 1 fifth and one wall of shame and the runner up was a tie between louisianabroncofan and royalbroncofan1 with 2 first place finishes each.
No prizes, it’s all about pride or shame. Are you man enough, haha.
You can place your scores for next week game starting tomorrow Monday and ending Saturday pm.
24, the score you posted is 23-21 Bronco win.
All score predictions for the game are in. NO PICKS ON GAME DAY, NO EXCEPTION. Good luck to all but mainly good luck to our team. This week the pulse of Bronco Country says 75% of you guys pick us to win today so only 25% pick us to lose (26 win picks vs. 9 loss picks), way to go Bronco fan, MAY THE MAJORITY BE RIGHT! GO BRONCOS!!!
Hey guys, well I am taking a sharpie and putting a #11 on my wrist today in honor of Kenny with how we are honoring him today at the game!! Hope we come out and fight our hearts out and win it for him!!
I love me some Broncos Country!!
quick question, i picked up Maroney over buckhalter this week. Think that was the better fantasy replacement for Moreno. Im starting to doubt it and think I should switch it up before the game begins. Lemme know guys as soon as u can. TRB out…
Any word on our starting corners playing?
Hey Guys,
Has anybody paid attention to all these QB controversies? Like in philly where every one was obsessed with Kolb. And after half a game of play he is out? Or in Carolina? Or even Jacksonville where they benched Garrard just a week after he threw THREE TD’s against us? Who else? Tennessee, Buffalo and Oakland?
It just got me thinking. What if Orton has a bad game? Do we pull the plug on him without even blinking? Because it’s not like those teams are pulling QB’s in favor of a probowler. Garrard for McCown. Kolb for Vick. Moore for Clausen. Campbell for Gradkowski. Edwards for Fitzpatrick. Those aren’t quality QB, and barely any have any hype behind them. (probably only Clausen the rook and Vick the former star).
Now think about us. We have the most celebrated College QB of all time as our #2 man. No other team has such a hyped back up as we do. So could one bad game remove Orton from the starting line up?
Just an interesting thought.
I can see why you are doubting yourself TRB, I mean Maroney has never played a down with us and is coming off an injury. Of course Bucky isn’t that much better of a bet since he could get hurt at anytime and has had a slow start this year, but considering the options, I would go with the guy who the teammates are familiar with. Not an advice, just the way I look at it.
There are three keys for us to win today.
Win TOP.
Score on 80% of our drives.
Have the ball last.
If we can do those things, I believe we can win this thing!
I don’t know on what foot you got up this morning florio, but removing Orton after one bad game, with the Titans, Baltimore and the Jets coming up, throw Tebow in there?!?!?! You must be joking buddy, this would be as bad a move I could ever imagine.
Most every team wins the TOP against Manning, but Manning doesn’t care.
Scoring TD’s is a must FG’s won’t do against Manning.
As for the last thing I agree whole heartedly, since I pick us to come up short 24-28, I’m expecting a game to the wire, but taking Manning in the clutch over Orton is an easy decision for me.
Thx Baylin. Maybe i should just avoid Denver Backs this week. But my only other back up is hillis agaisnt ravens. Not a good match up but i guess i can put faith in hillis lol.
Florio I have been paying attention and technically one of the is a pro bowler, vick. might have been years ago but he is still one. Plus i think he is peaking right now. He is playing at a level higher than before he was incasurated. Throws are better and still doing his running thing. I can see why vick was chosen over kolb but Vicks new starting job is just as fickle as kolbs was. We have only really seen vick agaisnt the Lions so if he messes up kolb could be in there next week, but fans just love the excitement that is Michael vick. Campbell is slacking grabkowski was scary efficient last year. Almost wish they stick with campbell this year. Clausen…might as well get the future started. Jacksonville is just random but garard gets benched every year. Bill ahve been going between edwards and fitzpatrick since the begining of time. Both mops. They should just suck this year and invest in Jake locker next year.
But to answer your question. I dont think Orton is in the same position. He is just the best guy for the Job whether we win or lose. Would take alot of losses to bench orton and not because he is doing a bad but because he has hit a plateau and is not doing good enough to win it for us which we require in a QB at times. so you throw tebow in there cuz he is a winner and u want him to get experience if he is your future. But yes i believe we are in a different situation
Thats true about manning because he can score complete a drive in 2 minutes. Every drive for manning is like a 2minute drive and he executes them perfectly and calls the plays most times. He is flat out amazing and almost always gets the TD over the FG. Point being he scores fast. I believe I was watchign NFL network when they were saying that the colts almost always are on the downside of TOP but yet the win. Because that is peoples plans when they play the colt. The best plan and is not much of a plan is to keep up with and if possible outdo their offensive output. Bend but dont break. Give up 500 yards through the air but when it comes to points limit them to FGs like Bay says…
in the sppeed rush article i picked broncos 34-14 fyi. go denver!
To me at this point of the season considering where both teams are at, winning the game for us comes down to one thing and one thing only, WINNING THE BATTLE OF TURNOVERS, and winning it BIG.
If you remember correctly, that is the major thing that got the Saints to beat the Colts in the SB, when Sean Payton decided to go for the onside kick at the start of the second half, and the result was a turnover. When asked why Payton did that he said something like “when you play Manning you need extra possessions because he is so effective with the ones he gets”.
That’s the only way, get more series than Manning does with turnovers.
No problem ddk002, got you, if you post a score I get it, I always read every post, no just a poster here, I probably read more than I post if that’s even possible, LOL.
Except on game day blogs when everyone is posting hundreds of three words posts during the games, I never read these, so it’s a good thing there is no picks on game day.
I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m talking about bay. I want orton to stay the starter.
I was just thinking if orton had a bad game, would mcd replace him with tebow without even blinking like those other teams. Or would he stay behind orton as his starter. Because a lot of those starters had/have promise.
I guess you didn’t understand my answer either, no way McD demotes Orton regardless of how bad he plays in one game, he gave the guy 9 mil for one extra year because that’s who he wants for now, he is in no way comfortable with Tebow starting under any circumstances at this point.
Okay?
What I’m saying is I can’t believe teams give up on their QB after one bad game. I don’t see orton losing his job anytime soon.
Say orton throws 3 picks today.(which I would not like because he’s on my fantasy team lol) you can’t tell me there wont be whispers.
Im I the only one watching Peyton Hillis run through the Ravens defense like a bowling ball through pins. Jesus christ. McDs biggest mistake yet. And for who, a mop like Brady Quinn. sounded good at the time Im sure but in actuallity we needed a powerback more than a project QB. Oh well. Our loss their gain. Happy for Hillis. He was warming the bench in denver. Wanted him to have a shot even if it wasnt with us. Kid just runs straight and can catch well. Ugggh im so pissed we lost him lol. Another thing that makes me wonder what woulda happened if shannahan had 1 more year.
And TD hillis. I believe he just became the starting RB for sure now lmao.
