Denver took over at its own 43-yard line following a 39-yard Falcons punt.
Willis McGahee ran the ball twice to start the drive, once for a 2-yard gain and again for a 10-yard pickup on a shotgun draw.
Knowshon Moreno spelled McGahee on the next play and fumbled a ball that Atlanta’s linebacker Sean Weatherspoon recovered.
Following the recovery and a personal foul penalty against Atlanta, the Falcons took over on their own 17-yard line. They ran one play — a 3-yard run to Michael Turner — as the quarter ended.
At the start of the second quarter, the Falcons have the ball on their own 20-yard line with a 10-0 lead.
