Moreno Back In Action

September 1st, 2009 - 1:42pm by Chris Gentilviso

After missing time with an injury, Knowshon Moreno was back on the practice field Tuesday at Dove Valley. Sporting an orange jersey designated for players recovering from injury, Moreno worked with the rest of the running backs in full drills at the onset of the session.

Among those backs was also LaMont Jordan, who returned from injury wearing his regular white No. 32 jersey. More to come at DenverBroncos.com following this afternoon’s practice.

I’ d say we might see our starters the whole first half, considering so far McD has played them more than the accepted norm. Also because of the 10 days off after the game. It’ s not like we’re close to where we want to be, I will be disappointed if they don’t play a half.

  2. kgallant46 says:

With all the injuries the Broncs have had, I would hope the starters don’t play much at all, a quarter at most.

  3. Dynamicdave says:

I will be following these trade rumors very closely. If any of you guys catch wind before I do, please post it. Thanks. I’m out for a little while. Talk to you guys later.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

Either way, I’ ll be up at midnight tomorrow to watch the game, as I have to see it delayed 3 hrs on the NFL channel.
Looking mainly to see what Brandstater will do with the ones.
And hoping for our first turnover of the pre-season. Can you believe it? That is one thing that hasn’t changed from last year, lack of turnovers.

  5. whitebronco#1 says:

Yeah, get those turnovers and the change of direction in the D will be completed.

I don’t think the 1st team will play more than 1 qtr. Too much injuries already to risk them. I think it will be the final stage for competition in the spots where there’s still no decision made. Last chance for 2nd and 3rd team players to show and prove themselves.

And also, the rumor of the trade with AZ and KC will be cleared.

    Go Broncooos!

  6. mad_orange_devil_27 says:

By the way, good to see Knowshon is getting healed up. I’m excited to see this guy do his thing.

  7. rollinwitnolan says:

Marshall is gonna be gone soon to the Jets…mark my words. Mr. Bowlen wanted to take this team in a different direction well congratulations! No Cutler or Marshall with Orton at the helm…were gonna be headed in a different direction alright.

  8. Dynamicdave says:

Yeah, if Moreno can manage 5 yards per carry, it sure shortens up the field for 2nd and 3rd downs. He will be a big part of keeping drives alive (and the Oline refraining from penalties like they committed last game). Now if Denver could just put this Marshall thing behind them. Hope Gaffney hurries back. We need the WR’s at full strength. Maybe Lloyd can pick up some slack. If rumors are all false, then Marshall might help.

  9. rollinwitnolan says:

Apologize for the negativity but I’ve been an orange and blue fan for as long as anyone and I’m just stating the reality of the situation. We had a lamborghini purring in the garage last year waiting to be taken out for a spin. The lamborghini is broke and n
ow we’re left to rebuild for the next couple of years.

  10. Dynamicdave says:

rollinwitnolan, keep the faith. Season is yet to start. After 5 games in, make a projection for change, only if needed. Not just yet though. Marshall isn’t gone yet and Orton can do better then many are giving him credit for. We have yet to see Moreno go. Keep the faith…….

  11. Dynamicdave says:

rollinwitnolan, it’s not the “reality of the situation?” The reality is that Denver has yet to play regular season. They have yet to play as a complete unit. McD makes no excuses for the lack of his star players. He is holding strong in his belief in the team and I won’t give up on them either. Even if mid-season, if they have a losing record, I would never give up, quit smiling or quit cheering. I’m sure you are the same. They are our Broncos and we support them, win or lose (of course we prefer, “win.”).

  12. rollinwitnolan says:

Thanks Dynamic..trying too keep the faith…just moved from Bozeman, MT to Indianapolis so you can imagine the flack i get out here…surrounded by Ponies and Bears..I got over Cutler finally and realized Im a Bronco fan, not a Cutler fan. But Marshall out the door now too? FML! Guess were just gonna have to pound the ball this year.

  13. Dynamicdave says:

Nothing but rumors on Marshall. I like Gaffney. Just need him to heal. Royal and McKinley are there. Stokley. Lloyd. TE’s Graham, Scheffler, Quinn. We’ll be okay.

  14. StadiumStampeed says:

I hope Marshal comes back with a new contract. Throw away all the negative crap and lets move forward. Everybody has something to say about trade rumors, the worst I’ve heard is sending Marsh to the Cards-Boldin to Chefs-QB Matt L. to us. HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could you image Marsh & Fitz on the same team.(BIRD BRAINS)(LOL) Somebodies SMOKING heavy parsley flakes.(lol) Got a gut feeling our D well be top 10, Dumerville’s off the leash! GET’UM BOI, GET’UM!

  15. Broncos_Ed says:

u guys are to funny lmao … its pre-season lol … wake up guys it dosnt mean anything . 0 , nothing . i dont know how u watch 2 quarters of play and figure it all out. im stincking with pre-season means nothing , thats what all the so called experts said 3 weeks ago ………

  16. b-marsh=#1 says:

Today coach McD in response to a whether there was any truth to the trade rumors concerning Marshall he said; There has been NO contact between the Denver Broncos and ANY team in the NFL. We look forward to Brandon coming back on the sixth and preparing for the Bengals with Brandon. I hope he is telling the truth. With Marshall and Moreno, I think we have a real shot.

  17. The_Ink says:

I am excited for this team this year and for years to come! I am tired however of ppl bringing up stats of Detroit in their preseason last year and others stats….trying to make sense of this preseason for us…let us have our own identity and I believe this preseason it was more important to evaluate the talent than to try and win games. I just think Mcd did the right thing by giving everyone playing time with this being a new scheme, new defense, new coaching staff, etc because you really don’t have an idea of what you have until you try them in a real game environment and I believe doing so is more important than trying to win a meaningless game! yeah it would have been nice to win too for morale purposes

I posted this on the previous blog but I want to make sure some fans see this….

  18. Dynamicdave says:

Broncos_Ed, exactly right. Preseason. A chance to gel some and fine tune the team. If it meant something, the Lions would have been last years SB winners.

  19. The_Ink says:

we do have what almost 50 players to evaluate right?

  20. Dynamicdave says:

The_Ink, ha, ha, it’s funny, right when you said the comment about Detroit, I bring it up as an example. Too funny. I think Denver will get their own identity, it’s just that history shows that preseason is over-analyzed. Whether it be Lions, Colts, Patriots, Steelers. It shows that preseason doesn’t always show you what the team will really look like in regular season. That’s why I never bet on them in preseason. Too many intangibles. Players making mistakes that won’t even be there in regular season, etc.. Plus Denver is yet to play as a complete offensive unit, yet, and we just got back Dawkins on the D. Denver will be okay, IMO.

  21. cutlersucks8 says:

Adam Schefter reports Broncos willing to listen to deal for Brandon Marshall Player now pick later. I say trade him to the Cards for Breaston and a first.

  22. The_Ink says:

    http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_13253856?source=searchles

here is the link about Marshall…NOT GETTING TRADED

You know this whole thing should just blow over and everything left in the past and stays there and then marshall can get back to actually caring about football

  23. Dynamicdave says:

Denver has 75 on the squad. Need to get to 53. Many are locks to make the team, already. A handfull of the rest are fighting for the rest of the remaining spots. I would say the staff has their work cut out for them, to be certain.

  24. The_Ink says:

you wasn’t bring up the 4-0 start that they had and stuff like that….you go ahead and talk about anything DD…I love to read your post

  25. The_Ink says:

where is that link at with Marshall being traded…..please post if you have it

  26. The_Ink says:

    bringing*

  27. Dynamicdave says:

I noticed all the media talk of how Denver looking at tampering by the Jets. I would just love for once that the media would stop using the words “unknown source?” That’s such a lame way of reporting. It sounds so “National Enquirer” like.

  28. The_Ink says:

UPDATE: The Newsday article may have had some authenticity, as ESPN’s Ed Werder is now reporting that the Broncos are monitoring the Jets for tampering. We will keep you posted if things heat up in Denver.

There you go DD! If it’s out there I will find it! lol

  29. Dynamicdave says:

I always use the link I showed you for updates and rumors.

  30. The_Ink says:

I can tell you, there are definite other places I’d like to send Marshall to, the New York Giants for one Osi Umenyiora and a second or a third isn’t a bad idea. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Pulled that little piece from broncotalk…I would not be mad with the Giants thing that Kyle mentioned

  31. Dynamicdave says:

Too bad the Giants wouldn’t consider trading him. He is too valuable to them. From what McD said, Brandon is staying a Bronco. Of course, I recall hearing the same thing about Jay, way back when. We saw how that turned out.

  32. cutlersucks8 says:

It’s Adam Schefter on Twitter The Ink. DD can give you the link he gave it to me.

  33. The_Ink says:

I, for one, don’t want to see the team trade Marshall. It’s a short-term solution with long-term consequences. He’s a piece of a Super Bowl puzzle.

  34. bronco-blaze says:

So what player would we try to get from the jets that could play some kind of vaulue to us?

  35. The_Ink says:

I heard a rumor of this trade!

    Arizona Gets: Brandon Marshall
    Tyler Thigpen

    Kansas City Gets: Anquan Boldin

    Denver Gets: Matt Leinart
    KC 1st Round Pick

  36. cutlersucks8 says:

The Ink, holy crap that would be amazing send me the link.

  37. cutler6101 says:

If we trade him we need another Playmaker!!! I hate draft picks! We need both a talented receiver and draft picks….screw all that other stuff….and if we trade marshall for boldin that would be stupid because boldin is getting old and marshall is still young! oh and I really dont want leinart! I SAY WE KEEP MARSHALL!

  38. The_Ink says:

it wouldn’t let me post under my new name!

  39. The_Ink says:

Getting a contract offer with no guaranteed money is the same as a slap in the face in this player economy.

I really, really empathize with Marshall. I understand his point of view. He is a top 10 receiver getting paid less than 100 others.

BUT act like a professional BMarsh and you would have gotten paid. I honestly believe if he had handled it better, the Broncos would have rewarded with him a contract, right around now. Learn the playbook and perform out there and maybe you can still get some money before the season ends.

  40. cutlersucks8 says:

cutler6101 Leinart is the best backup QB in the league only problem is that he’s behind one of the top qb’s in the league. Boldin isn’t getting old last time I checked he was 27.(I think)

  41. cutlersucks8 says:

    Just tell me the website.

  42. cutlersucks8 says:

Adam Schefter reports that feeling around the Broncos Organization is that Kyle Orton will start week one against cincy

  43. Torain ATV fan says:

i posted that link earlier trade for leinart and 1st rounder, check earlier comments

  44. brian_schneider says:

Do you think that this whole thing was to test Marshall? The team knows he wants a new contract or to be traded, they know he has had off field issues, they know he is young. Do you think that they were doing all this to see if Marshall has indeed changed, that he himself could make the decision to put his pride in the back seat and put his actions in the driver seat?

  45. cutlersucks8 says:

Thanks Torain ATV. But my only question is: Is this Bleacher Report website legit?

  46. Dynamicdave says:

brian_schneider, I doubt if it’s to test Marshall. They want him to “fall in line.” Talks of trade will just rekindle the flames. That’s why I dislike much of the media and their dirty laundry tactics. Have you noticed that this site doesn’t talk about it. That’s because they wait for something to be substantiated 1st. They don’t post blind rumors. Hat’s off to you DB.com for showing class.
