After the Matt Prater field goal, the Broncos covered the kickoff well and tackled return man Mike Goodson at the 8-yard line.
Two plays later, with the Oakland offense needing 7 yards to keep the drive alive, linebacker Von Miller rushed from the left side and forced Carson Palmer to fumble the ball. Defensive tackle Mitch Unrein dove on it and the Broncos took over at the Raiders 2-yard line.
It was Miller’s fifth forced fumble in the last five games and sixth on the season to tie him for the team lead with defensive end Elvis Dumervil. It also gave him a sack in six straight games, a career-long streak. He now has 16 sacks on the year.
On the second play of the Broncos’ new possession, running back Knowshon Moreno punched it into the end zone for a touchdown, giving the Broncos a 23-7 lead. It was Moreno’s second touchdown of the year.
