Miller Returns to Practice

December 2nd, 2011 - 1:19pm by Max Henson

Linebacker Von Miller returned to practice today, sporting a cast on his right thumb, which required surgery earlier in the week.

Head Coach John Fox said Miller is questionable for Sunday against the Vikings in Minnesota.

“I definitely want to be out there for my teammates,” Miller said. “I’m feeling pretty good. I have full faith in our athletic training staff and I’m taking all the steps possible to play in this game. I’ve been preparing all this week and it’s just up to the training staff. I know they have my best interests at heart.”

Miller said he’s never played with a cast on his hand, but the rookie doesn’t anticipate it being too much of a hindrance in the future.

“It’s not going to change the way I play the game,” Miller said. “I’m still going to have fanatical effort to the ball, relentless pursuit to the ball. I don’t think that’s going to change.”

Here is the Broncos injury report for Week 13:

Willis McGahee — Probable (Illness)
Daniel Fells — Probable (Hand)
Von Miller — Questionable (Thumb)
Eddie Royal — Questionable (Toe)
David Bruton — Probable (Achilles)
Ryan Clady — Probable (Knee)

And here is the Vikings injury report:

Adrian Peterson — Out (Ankle)
Chris Cook — Out (Not Injury Related)
E.J. Henderson — Questionable (Shoulder)
Asher Allen — Questionable (Shoulder)
Anthony Herrera — Probable (Knee)
Kyle Rudolph — Questionable (Quadriceps)
Erin Henderson — Hamstring (Probable)
Jamarca Sanford — Shoulder (Probable)
Visanthe Shiancoe — Probable (Hamstring)
Percy Harvin — Questionable (Illness)

  5. Bronco_Turtle says:

LOL… Foley the 6’5″ QB out of Arizona… He’s been touted as a top 5 QB all year as well when it comes to draft status… Just wondering if you had had time to view a little tape on him… Kind of a poor man’s Peyton Manning according to some… I’ve only got to watch him in 3 games… Big arm… Good decision maker from what I saw, but again.. I only saw the three games…

  6. Bronco_Turtle says:

and how’d you pick tomorrow’s game?

  7. Bronco_Turtle says:

Put this name on your draft board… Andre Ellington RB from Clemson…

  14. Broncos LAX says:

Good kid but if Tebow keeps winning it will be Tebow and Quinn as our QBs again. John Elway really likes Quinn it is very apparent he will be back.

  15. daddybronc says:

No way – Quinn will not be re-signed. What gives the idea that Elway likes Quinn?

  22. broncsbomber66 says:

    My official score is
    BRONCOS 29
    vikes 13

  23. samoanbronco says:

    Broncos 24
    Vikings 10

  24. baylinorcrush says:

Our # is the first # in any Bronco score prediction unless written other wise, so Royalty’s 20-15 score is a Bronco win and he was the last in before midnight, sorry to bomber66 and samoan for missing the midnight deadline but same rules for everyone.

So this is going to be a wild one for S.D.Bronco30 who is the only blogger out of 56 to pick the Vikings to win 20-21.

There is only two options for him, either he wins the 7 points if the Broncos lose and he would be the only one to place this week since you cannot place if you pick the wrong team to win, or he gets inducted onto the Wall of Shame with minus 5 points if the Broncos win regardless of the score.

Talk about all or nothing, it’s only happened once before, the first game against the Seahawks last season Dondewitt was the only one to pick Seattle to win and we won 31-14, so hopefuly it’s a good omen!

Because had no one picked us to lose, this is what we’d be looking at:

Only twice have all the bloggers picked us to win, and both times we suffered two of our worse losses ever, the Raider game at home last year which we lost 14-59 and the game at the Cardinals also last year which we lost 13-43.

So you got it in a nutshell, S.DBronco30 is going to be sweating bullets, and so are we all, LOL.

    Good luck to everyone!

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. UKBroncos says:

Great analysis Bay – you really missed your calling…

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Klis talking to Bill McCartney, coach of 1990 Champions Buffaloes:

“You cannot underestimate the impact we have on each other,” McCartney said. “Listen to this now. This is a quote from Tebow. It was in your paper. It came out April 25, 2010. Listen to what he says now: ‘I’m going to have one goal and that goal is to earn the respect from my teammates and my coaches. That’s the only goal I have,’ Tebow said. ‘It’s not to be the starting quarterback right now. It’s to earn the respect’ — now watch this — ‘because when you earn the respect from people they begin to like you. Then they believe in you. Then they begin to love you. And then you have a team that’s united and cares about each other more than anything else.’ ”

    McCartney paused.

    “I believe that stuff.”

Reason why is he experienced it in 1990 with RB Bienemy who was the driving force they went on to be champions that year.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

Thanks, but I thought I found it, LOL.

  28. baylinorcrush says:

Except I don’t get paid for it so maybe it doesn’t count, haha.

  29. UKBroncos says:

And lots of numptys get paid for it instead!

  30. baylinorcrush says:

And McCartney offers a great coach’s view of what may be happening in the Broncos locker room about Tebow and his Faith:

“It’s a dividing line,” McCartney said. “You’re either all in or not in at all. That’s always been a dividing line. What I like about the way he handles himself is he’s not ashamed of his faith. Just because you may not agree with his faith does not cause him to go into a closet. He’s genuine, he’s wholehearted, he’s authentic.

“If he wasn’t, the people in that huddle and in that locker room would have him for lunch. Trust me on this one. When you go in that locker room and you’re not who you appear to be, they will take you apart. There’s a lot of guys on that team who are not believers, but they see he’s genuine so that doesn’t offend them.”

So, for now it’s all good!

  31. ScalptheChiefs says:

Are you guys ready?? So pumped for gametime, I am feeling pretty confident about my 20-10 prediction… sdbronco is definitely all in here lol

Lets keep this streak rolling talk to whoever is around at halftime!!

Take care my fellow Bronco Brothers and Sisters!

  32. Applejack says:

And before we start *yelling* – at SD bronco. He said, Denver’s been winning since he started picking them to lose. Couldn’t jinx it now!

  33. baylinorcrush says:

Woody reinforcing that all is indeed well in the locker room now according to Colquitt:

“I would guess 90 percent of the players had doubt, really, when Tim became the starter,” Broncos punter Britton Colquitt told me. “I played against him three times in college (while at Tennessee). I saw what he could do, and I knew he’d make something happen. I wasn’t astounded.

“I believe 100 percent of the players are totally behind Tim now.”

  34. baylinorcrush says:

That’s a classic stand though, saw many bloggers use it over the years, bottom line is he picked Vikes to win which is not an issue with me whatsoever, he is just as true a Bronco fan as I am, the ones who have issues with it are just insecure idiots.

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Anyway, Woody goes on about the locker room and Tebow:

Perhaps a couple of wide receivers, assorted veterans, a few assistant coaches and an executive VP aren’t convinced yet.

Threw Elway in there just for good measure, LOL, but he is the only one who truly matters, so Tebow needs to keep impressing for at least 5 more games.

  36. monodono says:

I was sitting here watching some old film of The Broncos and I can’t help but think about a former Denver Broncos prospect that didn’t make it in The NFL who I think had all of the same intagables that Tebow has.
Does anybody remember Bradlee Van Pelt? If only He had the same opportunities that Tim Tebow has had I think He too would’ve made a real impact had He stayed in The League.
Does anybody remember how the TEAM and the Fans would get behind Him? It was so exciting to have a local on the TEAM, but I don’t think anyone gave him much chance to succeed as a QB. Everyone of the analists said the same things about Bradlee as they do now about Tim.
I just thought I’d throw that out there and see if anyone feels the same way.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

  37. baylinorcrush says:

Good analysis, but on a completely different level though, obviously Tebow and Van Pelt’s college accomplishments don’t compare.

  38. monodono says:

Ageed, But I can’t help but wonder how well He would’ve done with an OC and HC willing to go all-in and if the Fan’s would’ve baught a billboard for Him. Just day dreaming…

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

  39. baylinorcrush says:

I certainly found him exciting for the short time he was with us, Colorado State boy If I recall correctly.

  40. monodono says:

YUP! and He had some success in collage too. Not a National Championship mind you, but He was a true competator. To bad He couldn’t make it as a QB in The NFL, there was lots of talk about what position He should play Linebacker, Fullback ect.. Just like Tebow.
I’m glad Tim is turning the corner and has the opportunities He has. I hope He continues to progress and is a big success in Denver.

    Have a Great Day Bay.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

  41. OrangeTsunami says:

I want to personally thank Tim Tebow today.. I live in the NYC area, and FOX is carrying the Broncos vs Vikings.. This would NEVER happen with Orton under center, as it looks as if NYC wants to take a bite out of the Tebow train.. Thanks to Tebow, I can watch this game comfortably from home. I can’t wait for all my friends and family see my beloved Denver Broncos put on a clinic today!!!

  42. Applejack says:

    Von miller out.

  43. 1980nmbronco says:

I haven’t posted here before, but I have been following the blogs for a couple of years. I am really pumped for the game. Has anyone heard if Miller is going to be able to play today?

  44. OrangeTsunami says:

Call me crazy, but I’m actually happy we’re sitting Von today.. I don’t think it’s worth risking further damage to the hand of best pass rushing LB we’ve had in decades for one game.. Plus, I fully expect to see Haggan make the most of this opportunity!!

Also, now there will be less excuses when we win..

No Von + no Peterson = equal paying field

  45. 1980nmbronco says:

I guess I should have refreshed before I posted. Darn. Miller is a game impact player for sure. I sure hope he’s 100% next week when I head up to Denver to see them play the bears.

  46. OrangeTsunami says:

Of course, I’ll miss Von’s sack dance today… Reel ‘em in baby!!!!

  47. OrangeTsunami says:

Also, with Von out today, the talking heads will have one less “reason” as to why we’re winning with Tebow under center….
